    Very nice Peter ... I don't know about you, but from my living in Thailand, I mainly wear quick drying clothing, not cotton trouser shorts or tee-shirts which takes a long time to dry. I like to wash my cloths every night in the bath tub or shower to get the sweat out, and quick drying clothing drys by the morning.

    That “old fashioned thing” you mentioned is an electric pot which is still commonly used in many Asian countries including Japan. It’s better than a kettle because it boils the water and keeps it hot (around boiling point) so you can get hot water anytime! Thanks for the review.

      Personally I don't think it's better because the water doesn't boil as hot like a kettle

    great value ... i paid 900 thb a night at Smile resort next door, low season. i had a much bigger room and tiny balcony but as you rightly point out, size isn't everything 😀

    If you have time take a drive up the mountain Khao Hin Lek Fai for good views of the city.

    Narawan Hotel is pretty similar with prices 600-800 bht/night. It has much bigger rooms and nice pool. It's also on soi94 in the other side of the railroad track.

    • @ThailandBound
      @ThailandBound  Před rokem +1

      It's virtually right on the railway tracks! I've stayed there, couldn't get much sleep, woken up every hour or so with goods trains going by all night long... who cares how big the room is if you keep getting woken up another time on a Sunday morning I was fast asleep after a late night and they were drilling at 8:30 in the morning in the room next to me, really you couldn't make it up on a Sunday morning. And the icing on the cake well the rooms are very dated and old-fashioned no it's not for me

    Delux room? One of the differences between a budget hotel and the Hilton and similar are the size of the safes. I need a safe that will accommodate my 14 inch laptop.
