I was there several years ago, but it had recently rained and I couldn't drive my 4WD pickup up to it. Those badlands, formed from deep water sediments from the time of the dinosaurs when a seaway extended from the North Pole to what is today the Gulf of Mexico, were just too slippery and treacherous to cross. To think that a seaway once was there with dinosaurs playing, living and dying in the swamps along the shores of this sea while huge marine reptiles swam in those seas.

Great info 🙏. It’s such an other worldly area and definitely the highlight of my whole trip to Utah
