When I say this is one of the most memorable kdramas, nay, any shows I've watched- I am not being disingenuous. I don't know how to put it in a succinct paragraph but kdramas have always had the reputation of having a cliche love story as the central plotline, (and I don't have any problem with that either) but what this show brought was something far far more astronomical. From tackling issues that don't get enough light- introducing gay romance in a nonchalant yet respectful way, (especially given it is a south Asian tv show, hats off) to tackling the emotional turmoil one goes through during an adoption, to couples committing a planned and complacent suicide together, to terminal illnesses, to Asperger's syndrome, to corruption, to circumstances, and finally, to time itself- the show put forth an articulate and immaculate tapestry of life- never once flinching to show black and white sides of the world. The plot was made known in each episode- someone was about to die, and yet I was glued to my seat. I never care enough for a show to write anything- let alone a para- on it, but this deserved my time. And more than that- it deserves a season 2. Please don't ruin this Netflix.

I think it's amazing Netflix is putting their money into these kind of projects. I read a comment about a series not necessarily having a love line... it's true, it's about the message. Navillera is a great example. Now this. Reminds me of the Japanese film "Departures"...a story about people working with the 'death', seeing it from another perspective, with respect, with love... it's just amazing. I know I will love it.

We do not have this kind of service in our country so I was shocked and cried when I was watching it. They don't have anyone to talk to, no one to take care of them, laugh along with on their final days. The saddest scene was when the cleaning service had no choice but to throw away all of one elderly's photo albums. Painful. No one deserves to live and die alone. Let us not leave our parents and grandparents alone on their own.
