Be realistic.
Wow, this song. I've loved it for a long time but
covering it was way harder than I expected haha.
Adding harmonies that I'd heard in another cover
and hitting strange notes definitely took me from my comfort zone.
All in all, I really enjoyed re-working this cover to fit my needs
(which I don't do much) and got weirdly creative with the lyrics lol.
I guess you could call this one an experiment, especially with
all the new filters I tried out! Huhuhuhu.

Well, that's not reality
But it's alright, I can at least try in my dreams - Hudba
The girl that's dressed eccentricity, or just different in general is a version of the girl in the uniform's self. She wants to be this person unique, but she can't because society laughs at her for having these fantasies. In the end she realizes she can't realistically be this person because it's seen as socially unacceptable. She gives in to reality, but not entirely. "I can at least try in my dreams" that last line, means she hasn't quite given up on this version of herself she wishes to become, colorful and bold, and she'll continue to dream about it until it can be reality.
At least that's what I think.
I picked up on that as well, but I feel that the song is also about feeling inferior to others who seem to have a higher intellect. She really defines herself rather than let others control and label her, and she also wishes that she could be of significance to everyone, that isn't realistic.
People judge others so harshly on appearances, not caring about their past or who they are.

Ive always thought it more about a girl who was alienated by people of her age but shes come to an age where she wants to have an relationship with someone but she doesnt know how to be social because she was never able to develop those skills. So she wonders if she matters and will ever find acceptance but her logic tells her no but she refuses to give up.

I dont like to listen to people, I act kinda stupid, I have sensitive emotions but I have several smart theories, smartest in my class with in IQ of 130, I started a mini country in my classroom while maintaining it for two months, i get straight a's but i still feel stupid and people dont help my self esteem.
This song kinda reminds me of Socrates. the girl that keeps saying that she's stupid says some pretty intelligent things if you pay attention. and as Juby put so eloquently in the description: Be Realistic. Socrates quoted that "The only thing that you will ever truly know is that you know nothing." all she's doing is just being realistic and admitting that there is so much knowledge in the world it can make even the most learned of men look like bumbling idiots.

Aaaah thank you for saying that! I really wanted to sustain that "in between" sound (can't explain it) that really gives this song a bitter feeling. It's hard to put into words, but yes, the "sorrowful tinge" is definitely what I was aiming for!

I think that line means that she spends a lot of time daydreaming about being a hero, but knows that in real life, she's just a teenage girl.

There are many ways to interpret it, because then a lot of people can relate. As far as to what I relate to, every lyric matches up pretty well.
I think it’s about a girl that escaped to her own world in her mind where people cared about her, she was smart, people acted differently (herself in her own world is the more uniquely dressed version of herself in the video). Until reality hit her. She realized that in real life she is invisible and ignored, people didn't really know or care about her real self, they just seem to care about her because of her position in society, like a parents would care for their kid just because it's their kid, not for who they really are. When she looks in the mirror she realizes that she seems stupid and small to others, not the imaginary version of herself, and she feels even more small with the imaginary version of herself looking back and down at her. Her logic is very strong, but was developed incorrectly, making her logic different, so that's why others see her as stupid. In her logic, she doesn't understand why people use long words to sound smart and she sees they empty way people have sex as idiotic. Basically, the things that everyone else does seems weird compared to the thing she created in her mind and grew use to.
For the “But that’s not reality” part she thinks that she understands what keeps people going, because she is a human herself and would know, but since she was changed by her fake world, that’s actually not what keeps them going. In her past, in her dream world, she was normal and she sees that as her following a lie, but a good lie. In the end she gets heartbroken by the reality and decides to fall back into her dream world where everything is okay.

I then found a deconstruction about how it may be about people with autism and it was a really good one that made a lot of sense. This song is beautiful!
The title is great, a logical realistic ideologist is the perfect example of what every person undergoes when they have to choose between good and evil and their personal wishes. But realizing that evil and good are twins, brother and sister, there is no good side, just actors with a role on stage to play a part, and when you fully realize this: you will stop thinking in binary yes or no, right or wrong.

@@Ey_man I can't believe it's been six years already ... As for the comment, I don't think I could explain it properly in such a short time but I'll try my best.
To be a 'good' person to society means you need to conform, be obedient and do what society expects from you. To be 'Bad' is to actually have dreams, ideals and be your true self which is frowned upon and criticized at every opportunity in society.
The struggle we all go through as we try to break out of our shell that society has locked us up in. To be 'Good' yet we all feel and know in our heart that this 'Good' is corrupt and destructive to our real self and mankind. We struggle with our selves until we either give up on living or realize we need to stop thinking in what is good and what is bad. Stop thinking in black and white and release ourselves from the shackles of this false society.
When you realize that everyone else that tries to make you conform are also just people in chains who are prisoners to the system, unable to express their true selves as they are equally enslaved in it, then you realize there's no point in trying to listen to what society expects from you because it's not a real society. That's when you see that good and evil both have a part to play in setting yourself free. You need to be bad to obtain your freedom and attain the real good that is inside you.
Anyways that's what my end conclusion was on the video. Hope it makes a little sense. The video itself portrays a girl who's in the middle of this struggle still trying to find her escape from reality and its chains, while my comment more or less refers to the end process where one is set more free from this struggle and has realized greater freedom of the spirit by realizing in my simplest terms; fuck it, I want to be an idealist, I want to be who I want to be even if that makes me a bad person according to society.
