@@mareblu1778 That's not really relevant to _dated_ design. And I think there's quite a bit of "flash" on _MSC Poesia_ .
Regardless, it depends on the cruise line. But, for the most part, I think you're wrong. P&O, Princess, Silversea, Holland America, Seabourn, Celebrity, etc; all have elegant, tasteful decor on their ships. Even Carnival is now moving away from Las Vegas at sea.
