Thank you.
I've always thought I was "doing it wrong" when mixing up different colours because no one ever shows how they do it. Now I know I'm on the right track and how to get one of my favourite colours - peach!
These are beautiful, gorgeous colors... I love mixing white to achieve the rich pastels.
Thank you so much,Shayna. this was just what I was looking for in my vase of flowers. I wanted to do on this rainy day.

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I've always heard that you should never use white to lighten your colors, so I always stayed away from it. I could never get that perfect pastel pink, but now, thanks to you, I can!
Thank you for this really important tip. Please teach how to make nice blue tones. I really get confused

Where can I find more like this in your playlist? This one isn’t in your Shayda Shorts playlist. Enjoyed watching. TY.
@ShaydaCampbell I would like to find out what watercolors you have there in this neat little box?
But the white takes away the translucency that is the hallmark of watercolors. That’s why watercolor artists don’t use white. It makes the paint opaque. Makes it tough to glaze or layer
Totally agree! And it looks a little muddy as well
Not all watercolours are translucent and not all whites are opaque. Some watercolour artists use white and some don’t.
Jenny Farrell - “White watercolor” is actually gouache, which is water-based, but not transparent. Most watercolorists use the white of the paper to suggest that color or tone.
What paints did you use in that set?
Great video!! :) What is the name of the watercolor palette you use?
Hello, which set are you using? Or if it is personalized can you tell us which colors you have? Thanx
Can someone please tell me what paints/paint palette is being used in this video ? Thanks!
What white do you use? is it titanium white? Thank you:)
🤩🤩🤩
what watercolor pallet is that?
Hey,love💝
How do I balance water and color?
What palet do you have?!?!
if you don’t have white in your palette what can you use instead of water?
thank u ! x
without white or water you'd probably need to use a pink watercolor 🤷♀️ These are my favorite methods but there may be other ways
Painting water? 💙🌊 😁
The only reason why some watercolor artists refuse to use white is because it is an opaque color, I guess that´s what you meant by "chalky"? As the beauty of watercolor resides in its transparency, using an opaque pigment like white neutralizes this effect, but in the end, there is no right or wrong, it´s all about the kind of effect you want to achieve in your painting!
Shayda please, show us how to make perfect turquise colors in the next short! I need some special shades of that color but I don't have any idea how to mix my colors :(
I wish that l am as pretty as you are ☺️
wow....amazing...1st time being a little early.....im 13 years old child......mam u just look like ellen from ellen show.....i used to watch all your videos.....u r just amazing....from perfectly imperfect girl....by amal
This is a helpful tutorial! Thanks Shayda.:) Just a quick question, what type of paper are you using for this video? I liked how your paint when dry looked smooth and creamy.
💕🌞💕
OMG
I needed this..... All my peaches were turning out to be muddy. Thank you
I'd love to use white, but unfortunately if you use white , it turns to gouache .😫
I have been doing a Canadian Woman art series with watercolour backgrounds and charcoal portraits. I am self taught so this tutorial is awesome to help me learn basic techniques! I struggle with flowers. New subscriber! I would love if you could check out my art sometime 🥰
Again first 6th time
Mixing magenta and white to get pink. Groundbreaking. I thought I would get helpful advice when you have NO pink/magenta shade or white in your palette 😥 But thank you anyways. Your videos are always fun to watch 💋
if u dont have pink or white on ur palette, get new paints.
Danielle Smith -White shouldn’t be in any watercolorist’s palette. You should be able to mix any color you need using three colors only, the basic palette.
@@CupCaked lol ok
Danielle Smith Can you imagine? I love to work with what I have and make the most out of it - and not constantly buy new things if the old do not fulfill my needs fully. No, you can’t. That’s ok. But MY decision 💋
Thank you lovely!!
