We all have high hopes for the anime, Hiroyuki Sawano is doing the soundtrack so we already have assurance that the soundtrack will be god tier. Holy shi- just imagining Jin-woo flexing while Hiroyuki-sensei is going nuts to the background music. Solo Leveling will definitely shake the world like Attack on titan, Arcane and Cyberpunk did.

From what we've seen so far they completely ported it over to make the setting take place in Japan. Presumably because Korea and Japan don't like each other too much.

Don't be fooled. Animating short individual clips is very different from animating a whole anime. Not to discredit this animator, because what he does is impressive and hard to do as well, and I have no idea how they would animate a full-on anime, but if you watched an entire anime that was made exactly like this, you would cry in disappointment.
If they don't top this for the anime I'm just gonna be disappointed.
The problem is the studio who took this anime, the same from SAO and Nanatsu no Taizai, not the best drawers…

There was a novel that I really liked. In the story, monoliths descend to the world. The Monliths open into a dungeon. If the dungeons are not cleaned regularly, monsters come out of them. When you kill monsters in the dungeon, skill books etc. will drop.
Spoilers.
Our main hero, in order to activate his ability (if it is not innate, you activate it with a skill book) saves a lot of money, buys a skill book, activates it and learn the skill but when he look at his mana level he sees a infinity symbol. After trying it, he confirms it that he has infinite mana and starts his adventure.
Spoilers.
But it turns out that these monoliths actually belong to aliens trying to take over the world and use it like a battery.
It seems that every life-form-hosting planet has its own consciousness. (Actually, planetary consciousness comes into existence first and tries to create living life according to its conditions.) If the aliens land directly on the earth, they will lose their power and die because of the laws of the universe (Like the laws of physics. Let's call it supernatural power laws. Or a multidimensional being will completely go down to a lower dimension. Imagine if we were trying to enter a two-dimensional plane with our body. We should have been like a piece of paper and of course die. :D )
Aliens are also using monoliths to break this barrier. A monolith is a kind of power transmission device. it transfers the Earth's Origin energy to the aliens.
The consciousness of the Earth is young. He hasn't woken up yet. But he wakes up to the threat. Inexperienced but learns quickly. In a way, he sets up a system just like in the games of the earthlings. It absorbs the energy of the dead aliens ( Aliens don't really die in the monolith. Those who fight with humans are just energy avatars. ) and turns it into Skill books for their own earthlings. So that the earthlings have a chance.
But this is not enough either.
As a last resort, he takes a risky decision and attaches himself to an earthling. Thus our MC has access to all the energy of a planet. But here's the risky point. If the MC dies, all the earthlings and the planet itself will die too.
