I am a MacDougall I am a part of the house of Ivar (Uí Ímair) and related to my chief placing me as a noble in my clan and Ivar my ancestor, our clan animal is the Raven for Huginn and Munnin and we venerate their wisdom into our actions. Our motto is Buaidh No Bas meaning conquer or die we were the gallowglass warriors who never turned their backs in battle and dominated the battlefield for 500 years being hired by kings and queens and sometime they couldn't even afford us so they gave us land. Our fleet has ships with the head of the Raven on the bow of the ship instead of a snake or serpent. We are also of the house of Dalraida and were its rulers till our merge with Alba through marriage into the MacAlpins the former of Alba making us a Royal Norse-Gaelic Picti house. This resulted in us being massacred by the lowlander known as King Bruce who tried his best to genocide every MacDougall even though we stood with honor of our murdered ally in a church by the Bruce. The war for independence started because William Wallace was dismembered and the people would not accept that so bruce rose and we were allied to the Wallace clan as our chief and warriors stould with him on the battlefield against the English. The main reason they killed us off was to secure his thrown from highlanders and he had a good enough reason to try. We took our navy (one of the biggest fleets in Scotland) and sailed to England where we served as the Admirals of the navy, ironically we got our land back when bruces granddaughter married our chief which got us back our capital which is also the capital of Dalraida but that isn't even close to actually restoring our lands as we used to own all of argyll and bute. Though because of the highland clearances and my ancestor being exiled, I no longer live in the highlands my family has been in Canada for 8 generations here is a quote of my ancestor who came to Canada, "This Lachlan MacDougall was an exiled scion of the House of Lorn.
