  • This video shows how to make a tasty dosa using watermelon rind. These spongy dosas can be made either savoury or as sweet dosa.
    Ingredients
    Raw rice 2 cups
    Methi seeds 1 tsp
    Poha/rice flakes 1/2 cup
    Fresh coconut 1/2 cup
    Watermelon rind 1 cup
    Curd 1 Tbsp
    Salt to taste
    Turmeric powder a pinch
    Jaggery powder to taste

    Wowww... surnolli.. my fav.. i like it.. my mom used keep asaide some batter & used to add jaggery... my childhood days no jaggery powder... only 2 forms of jaggery... 1 is chikki jaggery & 2 is normal jaggery.. thk u so much... i just went back to my childhood days ... luv u mam.. 😘😘😘😘

    Amma my mother used to add little jaggery while grinding , it gives just a sweet taste not too sweet. She also added little curd or soaked rice in buttermilk. It gives a lovely taste. We served it with home made white butter. So yummy

      Yes we have also added a tbsp of curd while grinding .and jaggery can be added while grinding too

    Namaste Geeta ji i made healthy sprouted wheat powder recipe nd many thanks for this recipe but I gave by adding warm milk to drink.i have not cook the mixture , should it should cook ?nd this recipe of water melon rind recently I hv made but by adding rava, little besan nd this rind of water melon.it came very nice.that day it had watermelon festival in our house.😀 cause I hv made watermelon rind chutney, vegitable sabji, sheera Halwa,Dosa nd redpartof it juice this one is also i will make it.thanku

      It need not be cooked you can just add to hot milk

    You can also use pulp area near seed of Ash gourd / madar as cucumber / sugarcane juice / curds /pumpkin pulp area near seed etc can be used..

      @@GitasKitchen Amma try the raw mango curry ..ghashi too
      Boil raw mango pieces with water to cover pieces and little haldi.
      Grate fresh coconut, fry 1 tbsp coriander seeds, 1 tsp udad dal, 2 red chillies, cool and grind with small piece of tamarind , salt and small piece of jaggery to smooth paste. Add it to cooked raw mango pieces add little water. Boil. Season with mustard seeds and curry leaves.eat with rice.
      Amma if you get small ripe local mangoes.wazh and remove skin n put skin in vessel.add little water and squeeze all pulp out.discard skin. Now add mangoes 1 cup water, pinch of salt , and boil till mangoes are little soft. In a katori add 1 tsp rice flour and add little water make slurry. Add to boiling curry. Boil few minutes till gravy thickens little. Remove. Season with mustard seeds ecurty leaves. Eat with roti
