The entire thing can be summarized as a big popularity contest. Because of the betting system in place and the fact that you can see the vote counts, you’re not even encouraged to vote actual good games like HELLMET, and instead will just vote the ones that are complete garbage because they’re the highest and you will get some crappy accessory. Certain “games” like sols rng are actually BRIBING their player base by basically saying “if we win we will give you free shit”, which is just a massive spit in the face to other developers that don’t really want to resort to that kind of things.

Not that we get it for free, just that it even gets added lmao Edit: deepwoken also “allied” with typesoul to get more votes, since lots of people who played deepwoken have switched to playing typesoul. I agree with the guy who replied, its a pretty good game and I've got tons of experience, not every game needs to have depth and substance with lots of goals to never make you bored, its a good fighting game, with a decent community, with regular updates.

Basically you just happen to like these types of games so u think it's "good" which is fine. But when criticizing games, you have to look at them objectively. Is the game good for what it is? in this case, a battle grounds game where you fight free for all. And the answer is NO. If the winning conditions for a game is "whoever lands a hit first and does combo" then the combat system is already heavily flawed basically just copied blox fruits. There are a lot of battleground games out there which actually require dodging, timing parries, etc. in the middle of fights rather than just accepting ur fate just cuz you get comboed and can't move. Sure the other games have comboes too but it's not braindeadly easy as memorizing 1 one shot combo and then winning the game 💀. Same reasons why project smash is considered better than the strongest battleground and more.

Dungeon quest being nominated is actually kinda horrid. That game is literally just the same formulaic “Do this dungeon over and over and over again to level up so you can go to the next dungeon and do that one over and over and over again.” It’s a grind > quality game.
i used to enjoy the game since it had a simple charm to it. after it got bought out by a game studio its just a standard styled slop game with virtually recycled assets and shitty gameplay.

One of the saddest things about this is that actually good and innovative games (Noobs in combat, phighting, to name a few) are not mentioned at all, despite this being the “innovation” awards. Noobs in combat is one of the most unique games on roblox with HOURS upon HOURS of fun and engaging campaigns, and that’s excluding the custom maps the community makes and the pvp gamemode. Noobs in combat deserves to be in the best strategy category AT LEAST as it actually innovates, unlike a lot of the games actually nominated that’re more or less just another version of a game that’s been made numerous times already.

My best guess why the categories are so jumbled, is because of the voting form they had prior to this was completely community based. You could vote any game in any category, so they probably just picked the most 3 popular for each genre.
hey eclipse as an avid tower defense simulator player, i wanna say its not like most of the other tower defense games where you gamble for units. the only gambling in the game is skins, and specific one-time usable abilities (which, you can also get for in-game currency, so it's not really p2w or anything) and they aren't necessary to win, just make your life slightly easier. all of the units you can purchase for actually playing the game with in-game currencies that can be obtained via just playing, with none of them necessarily being locked behind gambling. some are locked behind robux (old event towers that were previously free, from, as you can assume, events) but there's no rng involved and you just buy the tower . thanks for listening to my tds rant

For strategy games there’s two with barely any players but I think they’re good, or at least good concept. Medieval RTS is an rts game with wizards and knights and stuff like that, they have a bunch of game modes and it’s very very fun with friends. The other one is made by a single person, Warlords. It’s a war game with around 8 maps, all point capture or death match. You’re basically a general of an ancient army like mongol calvary, Aztec warriors, polish hussars, and like 20+ more. The concept of the game and (when it works) is very fun and engaging. The only problem with the game is low low player count and overall quality considering it was made by one person.
5:55 - answer: they did. the order goes as follows (from least to most votes) 4. anime defenders (anime gambling with stupid rates for "good stuff") 3. dusty trip (you talked about it so I won't comment) 2. tds (does not have gambling btw [for the most part, as mentioned in the replies it does have skins, but most of them don't affect the game and balance, so I didn't count them], but as an old player I can say it has its own issues, such as the amount of grind and sometimes terrible balancing) 1. the strongest boringgrounds (also promised an early access of a character for 1 day for free. bribing the playerbase with a ONE DAY free access of a character is just insane in my opinion)
Tds suffers from the fact that it's on Roblox and the devs had to make money/appeal to the algorithm so they made the grind an absolute pain in the ass.
@@humanfrommars882 I mostly meant the actual gameplay. I do know skin crates are still gambling, but they are not really needed to play, unless we talk about the golden ones, which you did mention. But, even for the golden skins, most of the in-game content can be beaten without using them I'd say the insane amount of grinding is more of a problem than skin gambling. (don't get me started on the hardcore mode where the best strategy is getting 30 gems by playing 8-10 minutes rounds and the tower prices are in the thousands) However, it will be more accurate to include that, so I will change the comment once I get to my pc

The entire thing can be summarized as a big popularity contest. Because of the betting system in place and the fact that you can see the vote counts, you’re not even encouraged to vote actual good games like HELLMET, and instead will just vote the ones that are complete garbage because they’re the highest and you will get some crappy accessory. Certain “games” like sols rng are actually BRIBING their player base by basically saying “if we win we will give you free shit”, which is just a massive spit in the face to other developers that don’t really want to resort to that kind of things.

Basically you just happen to like these types of games so u think it's "good" which is fine. But when criticizing games, you have to look at them objectively. Is the game good for what it is? in this case, a battle grounds game where you fight free for all. And the answer is NO. If the winning conditions for a game is "whoever lands a hit first and does combo" then the combat system is already heavily flawed basically just copied blox fruits. There are a lot of battleground games out there which actually require dodging, timing parries, etc. in the middle of fights rather than just accepting ur fate just cuz you get comboed and can't move. Sure the other games have comboes too but it's not braindeadly easy as memorizing 1 one shot combo and then winning the game 💀. Same reasons why project smash is considered better than the strongest battleground and more.

One of the saddest things about this is that actually good and innovative games (Noobs in combat, phighting, to name a few) are not mentioned at all, despite this being the “innovation” awards. Noobs in combat is one of the most unique games on roblox with HOURS upon HOURS of fun and engaging campaigns, and that’s excluding the custom maps the community makes and the pvp gamemode. Noobs in combat deserves to be in the best strategy category AT LEAST as it actually innovates, unlike a lot of the games actually nominated that’re more or less just another version of a game that’s been made numerous times already.

hey eclipse as an avid tower defense simulator player, i wanna say its not like most of the other tower defense games where you gamble for units. the only gambling in the game is skins, and specific one-time usable abilities (which, you can also get for in-game currency, so it's not really p2w or anything) and they aren't necessary to win, just make your life slightly easier. all of the units you can purchase for actually playing the game with in-game currencies that can be obtained via just playing, with none of them necessarily being locked behind gambling. some are locked behind robux (old event towers that were previously free, from, as you can assume, events) but there's no rng involved and you just buy the tower . thanks for listening to my tds rant

For strategy games there’s two with barely any players but I think they’re good, or at least good concept. Medieval RTS is an rts game with wizards and knights and stuff like that, they have a bunch of game modes and it’s very very fun with friends. The other one is made by a single person, Warlords. It’s a war game with around 8 maps, all point capture or death match. You’re basically a general of an ancient army like mongol calvary, Aztec warriors, polish hussars, and like 20+ more. The concept of the game and (when it works) is very fun and engaging. The only problem with the game is low low player count and overall quality considering it was made by one person.

Tds suffers from the fact that it's on Roblox and the devs had to make money/appeal to the algorithm so they made the grind an absolute pain in the ass.
Tds does have gambling. You get 50k coins to open a crate and get a RANDOM golden tower. And you also buy skin crates for a random skin.
@@humanfrommars882 I mostly meant the actual gameplay. I do know skin crates are still gambling, but they are not really needed to play, unless we talk about the golden ones, which you did mention. But, even for the golden skins, most of the in-game content can be beaten without using them
I'd say the insane amount of grinding is more of a problem than skin gambling. (don't get me started on the hardcore mode where the best strategy is getting 30 gems by playing 8-10 minutes rounds and the tower prices are in the thousands)
