50 km/h on a straight line? Railways are expensive. They need maintenance. The solution is no railways no costs. Let these crazy Austrians find a new way for their iron ore. You have trucks. A lot of them all over Europe. Or tell your government that this is main transport corridor and it should be well maintaned.
The problem is, our government stole the money. They don't care what kind of corridor it is. If you ask them, Austrians can run whichever way they want, it is the people that will be in the lost, our government will have enough for themselves whichever way things go. Before elections they will just give everybody a portion of beans, and people will vote for them again. Only, the beans must be good. The Major of the capitol city will feed them with his own hand, having really good laugh about it, and they'll be as happy as little children, and they'll vote again, :) .
