    He is an an hero: walking all on his own on stage of one of the most prestigous places in the world, the Great Hall of the Moscou Conservatory, where Oistrach, Kogan and a host of others gave so many unforgetable performances, and then he renders these 6 most demanding masterworks in front of a critical audience in an absolutely masterful manner. At the same time he exudes modesty and makes us listeners feel that he just serves this devine music, no more - no less (certainly not less). After my opinion he has a wonderful balance between keeping the original spirit of this music and on the other hand giving it the utmost panache and virtuosity. My boundless admiration!

    The a-moll sonata andante sounds as though two violins are playing. Phenomenal!

      This Power and Energy to stand all the time while playing! I would already after two partitas so tired that I had to sit down myself on a Chair near of me. Barati has to have a healthy back.

    Kristóf Baráti (born 1979) is a Hungarian violinist, and is widely regarded as one of the most talented violinists to emerge in recent years.
    I think he is playing the Lady Harmsworth Strad 1793

      @susannestechow Před rokem

      "Brutalmente" ist Not the right word, Not at all. Here is precision. But Not brutality at the sense of violence or cruelty . At this music is a heavenly Peace which has Nothing to do with violence and brutality. It is Fashion nowadays to use such unfitting expressions for total opposing things. Maybe. You think about your words and then you write. Has the meaning of the word ",brutal" changed itself in such a way, that the word only means "extremely"? Then, I am shattered.

    Na, ist vielleicht nicht das Wichtigste für mich. Mein Traum waere es nur, eine Stunde lang auf einer solchen tollen Geige zu spielen und sie anschließend wieder an die Verleiher zurückzugeben. Ist jedenfalls eine tolle Geiger. Und Kristof Barati ist ein toller Geiger. Herzlichen Dank für diese Aufnahme.

    Na, what all is called " brutal" nowadays! The meaning of "brutal" was in former times "cruel", "violent", "bad". Nothing of all that is there at the music of Bach and there at the playing of Kristof Barati. This violin playing is peaceful, meditative, what is the total opposite of brutality.

    did those stupid carts or whatever they are need to be on the stage? who's the idiot stage manager of this place? and the mike stands - they couldn't suspend the mikes from above? jeezus.
    anyway, an awesome performance from Kristof. one of my favorite fiddlers. Szeryng is still and always king of Bach, but Barati is one of the best of the rest.
