  • This video looks at techniques for diagnosing and treating Severs Disease, also known as calcaneal apophysitis. This condition causes heel pain and is commonly seen in young athletes, between 8 and 14 years old. It's especially common in basketballers, AFL and rugby players, gymnasts, and soccer players.
Severs Disease usually rears its head when there's been a change in activity - such as changing from basketball to AFL - or when there's been an increase in load. While it can resolve itself over time, it's important for athletes, coaches, and parents to be able to recognise the signs and manage the symptoms.

Thank you. I have liked and subscribed ✅
Growing up our Dad/coach and masseuse would massage my brother, sister and myself for years of Athletics and Basketball and now with two boys of my own playing Basketball I would like to carry on the tradition.
    Love your work! 👍🏽

Would you use the same techniques if islins and navicular (sp?) Are also part of the diagnosis? 8yoD has severs, islins, navicular apoficitis and plantars fascitis in both feet. We see physio regularly but I'm looking to improve on what I can do from home for her
