Buying cars at the auction sight unseen is definitely a gamble, but i love the rush that comes with it. This Audi r8 is a very interesting case, what do you guy think is wrong with it?
Thank YOU so much for the continued support of my channel and just in general on this journey which I truly enjoy and love with a passion.

With the amount of corrosion on that ecm and the soot in the engine bay, that thing was deep under water. Also with water damage the leather on those door cards will start to become deformed like you see on the passenger side. Seems like someone cleaned up the interior, tried to repair the issues and couldn't so it went back to auction.
Fr, there’s so many repairs that have to be done that i don’t think it was worth buying
No way man. If that car was deep under water the ECM's and Cluster would be shot.
The one thing I see a lot, especially with CoPart floods is missing keys. If keys are shown on the pictures... than clearly the pictures do not represent the product. I think the pictures were re-used from the first auction. You will have to deal with disarming the alarm system before you can try to start it. If this car came back to the auction after someone bought it before and send it back the flood has most likely wrecked the engine. Do not start it before you perform an oil change. If you cannot reach the owner.... well, there are several thoughts, most of them speculation. I wouldn't think too much about the state of the interior. It is a car from 2010 - (12-13 years now). Seats can be easily reconditioned. Look under the seats for electronics and check if it is corroded. Also punch the VIN in and seek the Internet.... you'll be surprised what the old Google can find....
Yeah it does look like a car that has been relisted on auction. Im pretty sure theres a way to clock VAG cars too. In the UK we have mileage history available online, not sure about the USA. Might try to run it through autoauction, im sure Tim has though as he always talks about that site..
@@misterzee5736 I think it’s had a new engine fitted.. those early r8s had issues..
I think it’s hilarious how they move the car around 😂
I missed a lot of your videos, thank god you are back ! great content as usual. Greetings from Colombia
I got some heat from this comment i left on another video, but many agreed as well. "These insurance companies and auction site should be forced to disclose everything and properly document it.". I also must add they should be penalized for missing keys, parts, etc... if it's proven. So fkd up how they aren't held accountable. They probably just cost him 2,000$+ and a bunch of time.
czcams.com/video/pmnQ_wVCeuQ/video.html
I guess he could withdraw from the purchase under the misrepresentation rules if he really wanted to..
Insurance companies are a law all onto themselves. A necessary evil! 😡😡😡
First clue if was doctored up, was the seller an insurance company or their party?
Check if the Body control module is alive, it controls the locks etc. If it is damaged it won't allow proper comms to the car:
"As of MY 2010+ the Body Control Module (BCM) incorporates Central Electronics and Comfort System Functionality.
Make sure to have all Doors unlocked, otherwise this Control Module will block Communication with the Scan Tool/VCDS"
Pull the plugs and check the cylinders for water/damage.
As a former automotive locksmith, when we did Audis we ordered the keys directly from Audi dealership because they have to be coded to the vin and then programmed it using ODIS, which is the for Audi and VW.
As an Audi enthusiast, I can’t wait to see more! Keep it up Tim! 📈📈📈
i was biding on this thing..you will have some answers when u will type vin number of it in google and will find some weird export record to Panama

Yo I’m an automotive locksmith. I haven’t done an Audi R8 but I have done Audis. Typically my company orders the key from Audi dealer after uploading some NASTF paperwork and proof of ownership. I believe the key would be 415 bucks maybe alittle more. We’d program the key with the Audi/VW software. Would of been less than the autel but im sure you can use the autel for tons of things. I use one daily.
Missed the uploads. They inspired me and my bro to buy some land an build a garage to work on such cars. Looking forward to more vids!
LOVE TO HEAR IT 🙏🙏🙏
Nice R8 Tim good to see you back , need to get back into the body work the amazing job you do but keep on that good work you do 👌👍
When a Audi ( A3 / TT / R8 etc ) does not have any battery for a longer period of time the immobilizer ( SAFE ) will stay active. The trick is to have the original key and leave it on ignition for like 10/20 mins. Eventually the cluster ( that holds the immo on most VAG ) will recognize the key. Since you dont have the key i really hope the locksmith can pair the ecu/cluster. Nice car!
Yup! This is exactly what’s happening 😔
Second this. Been through it with a VW what a shit show.
Glad ur back, especially in Fla.
Editing style is dope dude! And that thumbnail goes crazy 😮💨
I am always very happy when a new video comes online. I've been following you for a long time. I would be very happy about regular uploads. Wish you all the best and good health. Greetings from Germany!
Looking forward to the series - hopefully the engine is OK!
Editing is getting really good! Like the voice overs. Sounds professional!
Letsgooo! 💪🏽💪🏽 looking forward to this
Always A Risk! But if your locksmith can figure it out you'd be set! Got a guy in Seattle that can but ever since being in the South its been tough to find a guy like that!
Loving it, can’t wait for the next one 👍🇮🇪
Wondering if someone has been there before you ? Maybe done an interior swap from a crash damaged car, hence the slightly tired but dry looking interior. In the meantime do an oil change and pull the plugs to check the bores on the engine to see if ingested any water. Checking the intake filters is also a good way to see if water for in their in the past. Good luck with it, very nice car but I got a feeling your going to spending a few dollars on this one.
if ecu's got corroded, then inside interior cables etc have to to be corroded too 100%, ofcourse if the case is flood. smartest thing to check first is the engine.
Glad to see you back!
Nice to see you back!!!!🎉🎉🎉
Lets go, getting all the insurance frauds? 🤣
I might have got an eye for them 😂😂😂😂
Cant wait for next video : )
this was a good vid man
👏👏👏👏👏👏nice buy 👍👍
Bro keep posting man your content is my favorite
Please, more....it's very interesting.
This car has an autowatch ghost or similar on it. Same thing happened to me with a RS3. That’s why it says ‘safe’ in the cluster. It will not start until it’s removed or the correct code is put in
We are trying to get the pin. Worst case we remove just to see if motor is good
@@BackYardBoyz yeah easier to remove then the key should code in and start
Big Shout out from London.
One way to check if it has 5k miles is by reading the transmission milage
Love this episode. Got an r8 myself 👏🏼
Ah youre leaving us hanging here🤣
Класний контент!Тобі добре получається ремонтувати такі супер кари!Так тримати💪💪💪
Magnífico tío!!!
Tim, I’ve seen a couple of CZcamsrs (Watch JR Go and Hoovie) try to fix Audi R8s and ending in frustration. I hope that you are the exception.
Yeah but i think we need to look at it on a case by case basis, because Samcrac and Goonzquad both now have R8s that they rebuilt. Albeit not flooded R8s but they’re still R8s.
W video🔥
Not bad bro! Hope you got a diamond in the rough.
Looking forward to the next episode, do you still have the Huracan?
Just an fyi, make sure you check for the strut tower cracks on the driver’s side under all the cladding. Audi had real problems with cars having to be totaled due to structural damage caused by those cracks. Samcrac actually has a video from a few years ago addressing the problem on his.
I saw this car in another Copart Video, i think it was the Niko Brothers who were thinking about bidding on it.
Thanks for the content
Thank you for watching 🖤
Tim is tha bestrr
There you go
You are right that car is more than 5000 miles on it. It’s still a good deal though.😊
Definitely not. We will have to do some more digging
Looks like the one the Niko Brothers had in a video, they showed it playing at auction.
Post link plz

@@billreid11 yea same car
Yoooo I been to that Copart that’s the one close to the gulf
VAG cars in my experience are the biggest offenders of mileage fraud. Of course we're all hoping that's not the case here. Also Copart should not allow images of the first run of the auction to be used for a relist.
Good Luck...!
Thank you. I need it 😅
You'll be needing your Sherlock hat for this one. Sounds like the previous owner was a sketchy character,...
About the miles, if have 5.6k, the tires maybe have the age of the car.
please bring back the way you did the old content...
Score! Don’t leave us hanging - update this week.
Funny how I jus saw the bmw vid n this one drops 🤣
Perfect timing!!
You should probably get the car up on a lift to look at the underside of the car because the rotors are very corroded. I know its probably just surface rust but who know what lying underneath.
Bet someone nicked the key. Purchased a trailer a bit ago and that too showed keys on the auction listing but then come to find that they’re completely missing. Not as bad obviously as a coded key but just shows the inconvenience of it missing.
Sickkk
But man you take long time to give as new episode but i
Love you show
I have a flooded Mercedes E400 is there anything I can do to it?
Bro how tf I been watching and subbed on CZcams since day one but never followed on IG 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ My bad bro 😅💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Cmon man can’t do me dirty like that 😂🙏
I want to see this as best Audi R8 ever made, kinda like wrap & wheels and toonup like the M2 bro...
Pretty sure you need to get a key from Audi dealership
you should open ECM and read the immobliser with pin out on bench. you can find the key cods to make onother key.but its not eays for you you should go to who make this things bro.
Hey man, I’ve worked on S5 a year ago that has been flooded. S5 was completely restored and it runs like new now. Hit me up if you need any tips, I’ve engineered it 😂
Don't forget to change the oil before you try to start it up.
The year this R8 was built, the build quality on U.K. models wasn’t perfection. The carbon side pieces fit awkwardly .Fuel cap loose. Trim on interior loose. The rear black plastic around the rear glass gets hot from the engine, discolours and weakens. It’s improved as the years go by. U.K. lovin your channel.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
great episode, strange story this car.
The story continues. Gets even more stranger!!
@@BackYardBoyz yeah i believe that, the miles are not equal to the seats and other components. But the car is master
🔥
Bro don’t just try to crank it over. At least check the valves and cylinders first. Then do a leak down or compression test.
Bro needs to upload more
Literally on it 🙏
thumbnails are going hard now
Saw this at Nico's Bother walkaround
Weird why on carfax there's absolutely nothing before 2021... I've never seen that before.
R8 Love :O
Hola saludos desde CDMX de 🇲🇽👍🤗
Dont complain. Take it and run. Be happy. Lol
you must turn the key in the other direction....... to lock the door
A lot of games being played on Copart. Who was the seller? Most likely a previous flooded car. Someone may have swapped the interior. Or this car has odometer fraud.
Bro I knew that the sound was coming from the wheels because 2 years back I painted my wheels and I forgot to tighten the wheels 😂😂😂 and when I drove my car my car was dancing 😂😂😂😂
Sand seems to be all over the car in was more than likely in water
It's my favorite car i seen same car on copart auctions I will come your workshop soon Its my commitment
Ya move to FL?
hey i live half a mile from this coparts 😂 👌
Rs5 update???
Goonzquad used a guy to code a key for their Audi A7 may be worth looking him up
No way, I saw this car on Niko Brothers channel.
the security system of VW is sooo strong.
*Got to risk it for a chocolate biscuit* 👀
Chocolate covered*
@@BackYardBoyz yes ahaha 👏
Someone’s been there.
I’d bet this car gets brought back to the auction before it runs again.
Guys you know that you can order new key from official Audi dealer, does it realy worth disambling so much and looking for proper locksmith?
Whats the damage
Where is your lambo.
Could have had a new engine fitted.. I’m pretty sure 2010 R8 engines had known faults..
Did you sell the lambo
how about money when you saw key and now not key? thank you, i got mustang from copart.
I have seen that audio R8 before
Where?
