Brian, Thank you for taking the time to do these videos. I am not a stranger to tools/repairs, BUUUuuttt... I absolutely do not know a ton when it comes to my Titan (learning every chance I get). Having watched other videos that sent me down the primrose path of unneeded extra or futile work; I sincerely like your easy to follow and professional instructions. Keep it up my friend. You are really helping.
Just did the job on a '06. Was easy peasy thanks to your video. My first time on a job like that and I was only slightly over your estimated time! Thanks so much for putting your knowledge out into the world!
thank you for sharing this video, it really helped me out on changing my plugs and coils. Im a Carpenter by trade so turning wrenches isn't my thing, but your video and explanation was perfect for me to get the job done on my own! thanks again for sharing your skills! hopefully your getting compensated from CZcams or some type of sponsorship, because you saved me a lot of money and im sure im not the only one!👍
nice video. I just completed this job today on my 2006 Titan after watching your video. the tip on the connector release was especially helpful. I like to use a length of fuel line to start all the plugs before using the socket.
Very cool! So glad the video could help. Thanks for the tip. Hopefully people will see it in the comments and use it. Thank you again for watching the videos and taking the time to write to me.
Great video, Im gonna be that guy though lol.. Wait for IT!!! BUT!!!! 1 keyboard Mechanic Tip! Instead of disconnecting the coil from the wiring harness.. There is enough play left in it. To just pull the 10mm bolt, leaving the coil connected, and putting it to the side. Nice and easy.. so that your not damaging it when you set it aside. I have even seen some guys, place sandwhich bags around the coil to ensure nothing touches it when they are setting them aside. Will save a little time verse disconnecting the harness. But it will save MASSIVE time.. If you pull the wire out the connecter. The time lost having to rewire a coil. Will make you regret ever unhooking them in the first place.
I’m old school I don’t like to use air all by hand had to many close calls the threads will pull out of head Other than that the video was good thank you for your help hope to see more
Is it necessary to unplug the coils vs. just taking the bolt out. Just wondering because I watched another video and the mechanic left them all plugged in during the process.
I believe its only necessary if you are replacing them or figuring out if its the coil vs the spark plug. Another reason i would is because it allows so much more room to actually remove the coil without breaking it. No ones answered this in a year?
Thanks for the how to. I took a look at my truck and thought to myself, this looks pretty easy. Your how to to confirms that it's straight forward. I guess if you have enough experience and know the feel of what you're doing you can tighten these by hand, but I don't have that kind of experience. Torque wrench I think is safer for the average do-it-yourselfer. If it's just bottoming the spark plug and then turning it 1/4 turn, why is it that there are different torque values for different engines? I'm just curious about how critical the manufacturer's torque values are.
It’s different for every car you’ll have to look that up in surface manuals. Also where you bought the spark plugs may be able to look that up for you.
How did you reach the back 2 spark plugs???
