    Diego Maradona in 1986 played the highest football level I've ever seen. He was, he is and he will be Greatest Of All Times.
    Pele is 2nd.
    Messi and CR7 can fight for 3rd place but they never were and they will never be on Maradona and Pele level.

      the desire to make Messi what he is not is amusing.
      Messi is not even top 10, he is not better than Maradona, and by a long way.
      There are a few Brazilians better than him.
      Messi literally shone at one club, that's all. In the national team, he did not have a single international competition that he really dominated, not a single one (like Pelé, Maradona, Beckenbauer, Cruyff, Zidane, Matthaus, Platini...).
      I like him, but he can't be put side by side with the other legends. Sorry!

      @@NdjayOne 🤣🤣🤣. The entire footballing world basically called him the greatest including past legends, pundits, current footballers, coaches etc. But I guess they should listen to you? He's been awarded player of the tournament in over 5 different international tournaments including the last world cup. Also most of the greatest players were 1 club legends. You don't NEED to move clubs. Pele, Maradona, Michael Jordan etc. Messi is by far the greatest player of all time. Even your statements are contradictory.

      I don't think you understand what I mean by playing for one club, I am going to clarify. it's mainly the fact that he never shone elsewhere (like the other legends), for example in the national team. (as another environment, a different club if you want)
      You tell me that he was named best player in some competitions... and, there is one for each of them. For example, Paolo Rossi earned the Golden Boot as the top scorer and the Golden Ball as the best player of the tournament in 1982. Great player! is he amongst the great, nope.
      There isn't a single competition he played in that people look at like Maradona's 1986, that's it. Am I wrong?
      And what people say about him doesn't take away the fact that before he finally won (as a team) a World Cup, people said about him everywhere: "Why did Messi never win a World Cup?" he is a great player who has neither the trajectory of the greatest nor the dimension.
      I don’t even know why you seem surprised by that if you follow closely football.
      Being dominant in one club doesn’t put him over the others that did it in two different settings (Club + National team). Simple!

    • @grinchoi1
      @grinchoi1 Před měsícem +1

      Thats the point. Messi has performed for his club as well as his national team. He is Argentina's highest scorer of all time. Highest scorer in WC Qualifications history etc. The reason he never won tournaments before with Argentina is because he never got the help he should have gotten from his teammates. This is the 1st time other than 2013-2014 where Argentina actually look like a cohesive team. Also he was able to accomplish something Maradona never did. He won a World Cup AND a Copa America where he was by far the best player of the tournament in each. So he has performed equally brilliant for both club and country. Simple @@NdjayOne

    As far as I know, R9 didn't earn the champions league with Madrid, or any other club. Also he contributed to just 1 WC title for Brazil. In 94 he, 17 years old, was in the squad, but didn't play a single minute. I would still put him in the top 3, and if it wasn't for his terrible injuries, probably the GOAT

      Are you serious? Pele and Maradona played and shined in much harder times for forwards. Check how many times Maradona was fouled in 1982 or 1986 or 1990. With current football regulations Pele and Maradona could win much more than they did because great players are really secured nowadays. To sum up, current football would be much easier for Maradona and Pele because they would be untouchables by defenders. Football today is soft when you compare it with Pele and Maradona times.

    Pele and Messi and which is better will always be an argument. Pele has more world cups but the era they where won in was a very different era. Messi has a much more impressive trophy case excluding world cups than Pele. So while Pele has 3 world cups Messi by far was a better footballer. We also have to ask how good would Pele have been with modern training and the modern game. I would say better than Messi. So because of this i would put him ahead of Messi. But i would not complain if someone put Messi first.

    • @mikoajdariuszmackowiak2141
      @mikoajdariuszmackowiak2141 Před měsícem

      I'll tell you what about 3 World Cups. In 1958 Pele was not first team player at the beggining. He became first team player during the this World Cup competitions. In 1962 he was not Brazil key player because in 2nd game he was injured and he could not play anymore, Garrincha was the key player in 1962. World Cup in 1970 is the frist WC he played in every game and he was great, however it was not Pele best year. To sum up, yes Pele had 3 World Cups but it's not like Pele had 3 great World Cups. He never had such a great World Cup Maradona had in 1986 in Mexico. Certainly Pele was briliant player, Top 3 players ever, but it's not like he is The GOAT because he won 3 World Cups. Gento won 6 European Cups and it not makes him best European Cup/Champions League player ever.
