    If you trim the feathers instead of plucking them it isn't painful for the bird.

      Plucking off old feathers aren't painful
      it's as same as cutting nails

    • @peverill64
      @peverill64 Před 2 lety

      Yes, they should be trimmed. Plucking is painful no matter what they say. Pigeons drop feathers but never to the point they can't fly, which means they are not old feathers.

  • @kubashninaidoo7106
    @kubashninaidoo7106 Před 3 lety +12

    Obviously it's going to work! Can the pigeons fly after you pull out their feathers? Seriously... My birds come home without me doing that... Don't agree with plucking... They are meant to fly... Same as breaking human legs and being like now they won't go anywhere...

      The last line made me laugh so much 😂
      I came to the comment section thinking it was perhaps something that grew back? So just wanted to check. If I ever own a bird I won't be pulling anything off of them!

      No...
      These are old feather
      It's like human nails...they don't have any feelings on their feathers once they get old

    • @gacha_noodle6978
      @gacha_noodle6978 Před 4 lety +3

      @Jordan’s bird holdover Gonzalez That's not good either. That's like if legs grew back when they got cut off and your parents cut them off just so you couldn't run away. A bird's flight is like a persons walking. Clipping can also cause muscle atrophy which often renders the bird permanently flightless regardless of wether the feathers grow back or not. It's a horrible thing to do to a bird even "flightless" birds like chickens.

    • @AkshaySKumar-cn8iw
      @AkshaySKumar-cn8iw Před 3 lety +8

      Plucking is better than clipping cause when you clip feathers they don’t grow back you have to eventually wait for it to fall out or pull it out yourself in order for a new feather to grow in its place. When you pluck it dosent let the pigeon fly away and also by the time the new feathers grow in the pigeon is used to its new home. Only pigeon raisers understand.

      if u don't want to pluck off the feathers u can also tie their flight feathers with tape , no problem
      but do not let them go without tying or plucking off their feathers...if u do, they will fly away and never come back
      First let them get used to with ur area and be comfortable with their new homes...and eventually after 2 weeks open their feathers
