I would have been cool with the uncharted fan film being #1, but "Legend of Zelda: a terrible fate" gave me fucking chills!!! Just check it out to see what I mean.
I've mentioned it elsewhere, but Terrible fate is not just a strong fan film, but a strong film because you don't actually need to know the source material to enjoy it.
He looks exactly like Nathan Drake. All the more reason to love a franchise!

Because the perception is that Tom Holland isn't playing a _young_ Nathan Drake. The perception is that he's playing an Uncharted 1 era Nathan Drake complete with Elena. He's too young for that role.
He not only still plays mostly high schoolers, but still passes for a _middle_ schooler. I do think he would make a great young Nate.

Yeah, all game movies suck. The ones I like are guilty pleasures.
One of the problems is that most games that are adapted have derivative stories, convoluted stories, or threadbare stories which don't make for great films.

I loved a terrible fate and think that’s what the TV show should look like but I love Nathan Fillion and he did perfect as Nathan Drake so that’s wins for me

Damn that RDR1 fan film though! The environment was so indistinguishable from the actual map in the game! And the costumes of the actors? On point. Well done man, well done.
There's a really good Sleeping Dogs fan film made by pwnisher that has awesome fighting scenes that also replicate the moves made in the game. Not many people know about it though, I'm guessing because they confuse it for the live action trailer that looks similar in its thumbnail, but is actually a different video.
There's also Max Payne Retribution, in case you guys missed it.
Seriously, that thing did so much better than the 2008 movie in less than half that movie's runtime.
NEWS: A Uncharted digital series or more could be in the way as the director confirmed "receiving emails" after the popularity of the fan film (just read it online)

The Mortal Kombat short is one of the best, they grounded it in reality while still staying true to the characters.

I remember freaking out after i found that majoras mask one, everyone i show it to whether there fans of zelda or not or even if theyre not gamers want to watch a movie like that and thats a testament to how hood it is

Fan films are great because they don't need to establish anything. Look at that new Uncharted fan film. It's great, but it only works because video game fans know who everyone is and why they're doing what they're doing. Fan films can get away with A LOT.
dv2244 it's kind of funny if you think about it because you're right yet when it comes to adopting a movie based off a comic book or even a regular book at the very least they come out very decent yet a video game movie made by Hollywood sucks.
Master Sensui 1. Books allow the director/writer to have some freedom because even though the characters have details, it's still mostly up to the readers imagination. Like Ready Player One. I imagined Artimises armour to be similar to the mass effect armour.
2. Comicbook movies have come a long way, and they have so much source material to pull from. They have so much freedom, just in thr amount of comics per character.
3. Video games are harder because of many factors. Games are meant to be played over several hours. A Commander Shepard Mass effect movie will never work because each ME game is 30+hrs long and everyone played them differently. While Doom has little to no story (it has a plot but nothing else), and that leaves writers in a situation where they have to adapt a game that has almost no story, to a movie.
The thing that makes Doom, Doom. Is the gameplay. That's it.
I believe the Uncharted movie is doing the right thing though. Don't start with the Nathan Drake we all know and love. Start with the version we saw a little of and then turn him into what we know. Let us grow to Tom Hollands version of Drake, at the same time he grows into said version.

They recently did a collab with Retro Replay aka Troy Baker and Nolan North, for both of their top 10 voice overs.
Reasons why Nathan Fillian should play Drake:
1.) His name is Nathan
2.) He loves the games and the lore
3.) He's a fantastic actor
4.) He's already played him (kinda)
5.) His age and looks fit Nathan in Uncharted 4 (unlike Tom Holland who doesn't look like 20 year old Nathan or young Nathan)
Like.. Hollywood and Sony must be BLIND to not consider him for the role

What about "MGS Philanthropy - Part 2"?! I mean, as a MGS fan, I was really hyped for this and stunned by the visuals. It had this good MGS vibe. Too bad it was shut down by Konami so they could never show the complete movie... :c

A fave of mine is called WHAT IF? which is a fan film of Life Is Strange. It's effects are low budget but the actresses and actors are basically perfect in their roles. If there was an honorable mention bit i wish they would've been there.

Killzone Intercept is pretty awesome along with all the fallout fan films for the most part.
