- I found a solution for the Vegas Pro "Render As" Crash Problem. This works for me, I hope it works for you. If it doesn't work, try the other solutions you can find online first like deleting temp files, setting video buffer to use more memory, etc. Then try my solution and see if it works.

It's insane but apparently Vegas 21 still has that same crash issue!!! From what I understand when you "render" the software is trying to phone in to the mothership before bringing that window...for some strange reason, no idea why that should be in the design but I wouldn't be surprised if that is causing it on media heavy projects.

i have the exact same issue but mine crashes as soon as i click render as even if i just have a checkerboard in there and it doesnt even load before crashing it just crashes, ive got a school project for tommorow needed to be in and idk how im gonna do it i need desperate help.
I wish I knew how to help beyond what seems to have fixed for me (shown in this video). Some have said this didn't help, could be I just got an update from Magix somewhere along the way and that fixed it, I really don't know for sure.
For me, first it renders out of sync and then for no reason the audio no longer works in the projects. any idea?

My issue was a failing video card. At times my GPU (Radeon RX 560 2Gb) is not even shown in Windows Taskbar when it heats up. I had game crashes too. Whenever I don't see my GPU, I just restart my PC. I installed two alternative pieces of software - VSDC and Clipchamp just to figure that out. Just needed to edit the video and was searching for alternatives.

This sounded like a great idea but It still doesn't work. I have two similar PC's. Vegas 17 works on one but not the other. I have tried all the other solutions.
I had tried everything and stumble upon this "fix" and it has worked so far, Vegas still crashes but once it crashes I open Vegas, add something random to the timeline and open the render window. After that I close that project without saving and open the project I want to render and open the render window and it works. Sorry it didn't work for you.
@@WheatstoneHolmes I'll not give up. Currently, my workaround is to create the project on one machine save it and render it on my secondary PC. Both are i7's one a generation 3 and the other gen 2 both with 16 GB of ram. My main PC has a Nvidia GTX-1070 with 8 GB and the other GTX-660TI with 2 GB. If and when I find a solution, I'll post it.

Sorry to hear that. Vegas is still a crash-fest and the only reason I still use it is because it handles S3D video so well. You could try Pinnacle Studio, it can handle 3D pretty well and may not crash on you as much. It works with frame-packed video like from Qoocam EGO as well as separate files like from a 2 camera rig.

Sorry to hear that. Do you have the latest Vegas update? That might help, I don't know. It was a long time ago that I made this video and there have been at least 2 updates since then.

nope it crashed, i was using intel cpu last time and it was fine now i have amd and its crashing
Pro tip: don't use Sony Vegas :)
