  • Evita and Michael really enjoy incorporating figures from other partnered dances into their swing dancing. In this video lesson they put a fun ending on an intermediate/advanced move - the Pop Turn.
    We think this figure is already a challenging move, but if you're looking to add some spice to your Pop Turn, this is a great one for you!

    I remember you two teaching that in Henley UK many years ago. Took a while but I got it. Very nice move.

      And it's kind of a mix between a tango ocho (figure of eight) movement and a gyro (pronounced 'hero') really. In the gyro the lead sends the follow around clockwise or anti-clockwise with those behind-front steps.

    yes! A molinete (in tango) that is a grapevine in a circle. We do it in Foxtrot as well.

    I think that's a giro in tango. Lovely move.
