- In this episode I found a beautiful printed dress that I wanted to transform into a swimsuit. The dress cost me $9 from Savers thrift store and took me 1 whole day to make. Additional material spent was on 1/4 inch elastic and black swim fabric for the straps.

I love the swimsuit print and all but I wish it was a two piece with the high waisted bottom and cute ruffle top only. Somehow I'm not digging the hole in the stomach area. BUT that's just my personal preference though! Still a super adorable personalized swimsuit for your sister made with love from you!!! ❤️

the problem though, is that you don't know exactly the type of materials you will get until it comes, and the quality of the material can be quite bad as oppose to buying and choosing good material from thrift store with little wear.

Great work, April! I think it might have looked better without the ruffle on the top edge, but maybe not (it's probably just a matter of taste). I was so pleased to seeyou make a cute, attractive, and modest swimsuit. In my case, I would definitely need to sew in at least a "shelf bra" in order to make a wearable swimsuit. My legs are proportionally very long (I am 5'8" tall, but with a 33" inseam), so that I would definitely cut those leg/butt holes lower, more like a "boy short" look, so as to "balance" my figure visually, but this suit looks great on your sister just the way you styled it.

Josephine Jacobs it probably holds up fine. Might fade from chlorine/salt water but it's thick and stretchy fabric similar to swimsuits I guess.
Josephine Jacobs I'm assuming it's some type of polyester/blend. Should be fine in water, even slightly waterproof. Fast drying.
It looks like a thinner neoprene material so I'm sure just fine.
Jessaleigh is right.. it looks like neoprene, which is the fabric used for surf or diving suits, so the water isn't gonna cause any problem
