I see some that are listed for over 600 € in germany. It's insane how expensive these things got, kinda sad because mine kinda broke and I would really like a new one to mod

The 3ds will always be my most favorite handheld of all time along with the Vita and Switch! I came across an original 3ds from FB Marketplace for only $60 and decided to modify it and added in all my favorite 3ds and DS titles. There's just something so special about the original 3ds I seen it a bit more pixel perfect rather than the other variants! Such an awesome handheld to take when you travel!
yea, i know what you mean and just a 2ds cuz the other 3ds consoles cost but load of money now.

@@yankis. I wouldn't say so. I find a lot of people don't even own a Vita and go out hating on it. It's a great console and it shouldn't be overlooked.
The original 3ds is beautiful, love the processing capabilities of the new version but i love the glitter on the og models lmao
I got an og for £50 and i love this thing so much, have been looking for a new version as well as a psvita but i love just shoving this one in my pocket and it not taking up too much space
I’ve had a new found interest in modded systems. So the mini plus retro transparent seems awesome. Perfect for some LED mods

I recommend to play and beat everything before you install more. It will help with the choice paralysis.

As a Fantasy Life enjoyer, yes there is a lot of dialogue and lore, but that’s only in the story part. The tutorials are only at the beginning of the careers. You need to go through the story to get access to the full map but leveling up the careers is kinda fun and there are many ways to progress in them, a few weapons you can specialize yourself in, and the game is generally simple and fun to play.

I love Fantasy Life. I played three times until I was finished, then I had to restart every time cuz my ds broke lol. At the last time I even bought the DLC for it and then my ds went under the water. Still love this game tho
I’m still happy to see that others are still using my favorite console of all time! The 3DS will always truly be my favorite console and I’m glad I got it modded because it made the experience even better
Depending on the version of the mod, most updates are safe to install.
I recommend looking up the hacks guide to see if you can update, or what you need if not.
check out the 3ds hacking guide, it says "If your console is running Luma 10.2.1 or higher, it is 100% safe to update. You can check your Luma version by holding (Select) while booting your console." can also check your luma version its "L" + "Dpad Down" + "Select"
“I’m not going to update because that will probably mess things up” if you have the latest version of luma 3DS, then it’s safe to update.

I love to see other people still enjoying the Pushmo series to this day. Still holding onto Nintendo porting the series to Switch sometime. They’re still my favorite eShop exclusives and I absolutely adore the games ❤
I love that series! Confusing at first because the name is different over here in europe but i remember getting Fullblox on my childhood 2ds before the eshop shutdown and it's so good

I got a 3DS XL from a coworker that moved during 2020. It was sorta idle, I just modded it last week as an emergency thing to keep my young daughter busy at an event. She loves it. Get in your multiplayer online before they shut down that stuff in April! (I tried Mario Kart and got clobbered lol)

I just modded my 3DS XL last night and upgraded from a 4 to 128GB microSD I can’t wait to learn and get the most out of all the custom software and stuff. And with Nintendo having discontinued online support I can’t imagine they’ll be cracking down on users with modded hardware.
This was my 3ds I got on Black Friday at my job when they ordered 7 of them and only sold one of them. I loved it and new super Mario that came with it really was fun to me
You can update your 3Ds as long as you have the newest update for Luma 3Ds. But if your other CFW apps are also out of date you can update all of them now
funny enough 1 month ago had a urge to play pokemon again and grabbed my 3DS and also modded it, it's so godamn nice. Btw it might be a good idea to look up how to safely update your 3DS then 1 day accidently update it and brick it.

Yesterday I modded my old 3ds xl! I got it as a gift from my parents like 10 years ago or something. It still runs fine! The top screen has a bit of a weird spot (maybe water?) and the outside plastic is a little scratched up.
Still, I'm looking forward to playing all the games I have on it, and also upgrading the SD card. My current one is only 4GB because that's what I had on hand when I decided to mod.
if the weird spot is that it glows a bit lighter than the rest of the screen, thats a commen issue with these screens and just happens to age. i dont think it affects performance at all and is unnoticable unless the screen displays a single color in that spot
If you liked Mario & Luigi Dream Team I suggest playing the other M&L games, they're such good games, especially Inside Story
3ds is probably my most played system, and I get even more milage out of modding it. My current one is that orange and black new xl that released in europe. it reminds me of the super cool daiei hawks n64.
also a great way to play all those ds games i traded in as a kid

You can see your activity logs on switch. You go to your games list, filter, then click sort based on time played
If you have the latest version of luma 3ds it's ok to update your 3DS XL. I installed a lot of games on my 2DS

modded my new 2ds cl yesterday, i have fun playing it but i got into it late, onlt getting it back in 2019 when it was only £100 BNIB with MK7. I got bored of having barely any games and with the eshop closure all the game prices are going up, so i thought i might has well finally mod it. been having a blast with games like yoshi wooly world, spiderman edge of time 3ds, and donkey kong country returns 3d! thanks for showing the games ur enjoying, ill have to get a few. ALSO, what size is ur SD Card dude u got so many games lmao
modded a 3ds a few weeks ago after modding my old vita. been playing the Layton and PWAA games on my ds, and got thru luigis mansion 2 also
Love the 3DS, so simple mod as well. By simple I mean if you find a decent CZcams video on how to do it it’s easy to follow even for a complete novice.
Fantasy life is so good! I agree it can get very wordy and starting a new life can be really tedious but it's good if you're in the mood for a simple game. Also gets less wordy the more you play but sometimes it's just good to run off on your own without playing the story.

@@supersambams hope you enjoy it! There's more to it than just lives and the story, there's alot of side quests and you can get a house which is pretty fun to work towards. If you end up liking it the dlc basically adds a whole new game to it.
I still have my OG aqua 3DS but I bought a new 3DS XL so I can mod it and have more accsess to better games and to ake games easier to play due to a larger size and the circle pad pro its so awesome and just like you I never leave home without it
Fantasy Life is worth pushing through the tutorials - honestly it's so fun playing through the different class (Life) stories, I started with the Alchemist. Highly recommend it.
I think I will try to push through it, because the game is super charming and I want to see more of it!
@@supersambams the game really kicks off after the main story, I don't know if you can add the dlc on the modded 3ds (don't know how it works), but heard that is really fun too for post game content and stuff!
@@supersambams I haven't even finished it! If you like a gameplay grind it's great to play alchemist blacksmith or woodcutter, but the combat's not too shabby either! Yes it has incredible charm
The life where you farm crystals and stuff (in German; Schürfer) is the easiest life to start with since it doesn’t require any skills from other life’s you have to master in order to progress. Played it four times and went with it every time. It gets so worth it when you’re around 50-100 hours of playing
I had this same 3DS. Was the first system I modded. Someone stole it a few years ago in 2020 during a sleepover never saw them again

I don’t know how people just have all their apps out in the wild like that 😂. I keep all my games in folders based on what system they are. And I only add games that I actually play instead of adding games just for the sake of adding them.

If you have CFW installed correctly, it's fine to install the system update. In fact you should, for online features.

I just bought one of these to replay old Pokemon games and do hardcore nuzlockes. I have the lime green new 3DS XL. I love it. Currently playing Omega Ruby.
Is it worth getting still I had one a long time ago but I think someone stole it and I just never tried getting another till recently
@@ItLosOfficial I'd say if you can find a good deal and are interested in playing 3DS games, totally. Emulator consoles usually don't have the two dedicated screens of a 3DS. So, there's always a cumbersomeness to playing DS and 3DS games on emulators for me. So yeah, I still think it's worth playing 3DS games on original hardware. It's still the best way to play those games, considering they were built with the handheld in mind.
I’m currently in the market for one in good condition but they’re expensive now. Hesitant on buying an immaculate condition super smash bros version and it’s modded but idk if it’s worth $350.

i love my n3ds xl, it got so many stuff on it, all kinds of emu all the way to psx.. i play it every day. Its beat up now but still holds up. Not sure what kind of mod you got, but i can update mine without any problems.

I love the 3DS, especially after modding it. However, I’m not that big a fan of the OG 3DS or the original XL. I just find the buttons kind of cheap feeling. Plus the 3D feature doesn’t work for shit.
which taiko games are those that you have & how did you download them if you don’t mind me asking? I thought the 3ds releases were all exclusively in Japanese.

With a CFW 3DS you can play games from any region! The taiko games were the 2 rpgs that were recently ported to switch in a collection.

I also want to know this. That was the first thing I noticed when he was going through his folders and they had icons. I've never seen a way to do that when playing around with my 3DS consoles and would love something more than that generic letter or number for them.

@@anotherthing It's super easy too do that :) First mod costume badges (for this the consoles) on youre 3ds(or what you have) then you go too the house whit the wrench icon then on the mario badge and then on the world whit the wrench icon then on badges on folder..... (or something like that) then you drag the badge you downloaded like the gameboy advance on the folder and voila you finished :)
pretty sure u just get the console badges from the badge arcade game and then when you’re placing them on ur homescreen, u just drag it on top of a folder instead
My 2ds is modded but I'm not brave enough to mess with my 3ds xl yet. I still enjoy it more than the Switch

where do you get your games? ive been looking for a place that has all of the games on the 3ds the only sites ive found have only specific games
Hshop, it has an on-device client that can directly download them like the eshop did. They dont have *every* game but they have an incredibly large majority of them.

I'm assuming that modding the 3DS / 3DS XL is pretty similiar to what I did with my DSi XL. If so, what size SD card would you recommend for this, assuming that I want to run both DS, 3DS games and the odd pare of games from older consoles like GBA, GBC and SNES?
128gb SD will be perfect
You don’t need a 128gb ds card, 64gb should be the max you should ever use for this system

Yes there is a dragon quest monsters 2 fan translation and it is available on hshop! there are problem other places you could find it but I personally use hshop

You have an activity log on the parental app on android/ios.
If you have a luma version 10.0.21 or newer you can update to 11.17 safely

Its not pettiness its just that videos often get outdated and people dont seek out the newest unless it gets deleted. The website also has very comprehensive step by step with image guides and all the links tou need embedded. @@Sea4planted

Why the mm+ over the DS for GBA games? Just the size and portability? I have the mm+ and was looking into getting a ds to mod so im curious why you prefer the mm+.
Just the size and portability haha and all the other retro stuff the Miyoo can play. Now I mainly only break out the 3ds when I want to play a 3ds game

Yeh I was thinking that.... All I can get is the ugly first capital letter of whatever name I use for my folders...
It's from the Nintendo Badge Arcade. You can earn "Badges" in-game and it'll let you attach it to folders or decorate your home screen with any badges you collect.
is it hard to get homebrew on the 3ds? i just ordered one I definitely want to have that installed
It's super comprehensive with the online guide. Do not look up videos just Google for a guide it should be the first result. It's a bit tedious because you need to constantly switch your SD between the 3ds and your computer. But technically it's super easy
