Just bought a Mavic Air 2S. Got my 107 a couple of weeks ago. Planning on learning the basics to start a business this year as a side hustle first, then legit in 12 months!
Awesome! We wish you the best on your journey. Please keep us posted on your success!
Thank you so much! My previous registration just expired (12/31/23). This walked me through the process without a hitch! Up and registered again! 😀
you have to +add service before you can see it to your left. Great video
Registering my pilatus pc21. My first rc plane :)
I bought an m300rtk and intend to use it for photogrammetry and LIDAR surveys eventually. I bought it from an engineering company that does RR inspections. I can only hope it's in good working order 😅
Just bought the dji mini 3, And i am using it for Traveling, taking videos and photos.
Do I have to register my DJI mini 2 se in Michigan if I just wanna use it for parks and vacations.
Since the mini 2 se is less than 250 grams (it's 249 grams) if you are only flying for fun, it would not need to be registered. That is assuming it would never be used commercially (that includes loading the videos on to CZcams). But, registration is only $5 so if you are worried about it there is no harm in registering it just in case.
Excelent video! I really enjoyed your videos they are very informative and in a logical sequence. I just purchased the DJI Air 3 for fun and can wait to use it "after registering the drone with the FAA. Q: Do we have any other requirements for Calif 0:03 ornia? Thank you!
Thanks for the positive feedback! You'll like the Air 3, I have one and love it. The only requirement is to register it, and if you are flying for profit, you must get a Part 107 license.
How you associate a Remote ID broadcast module in part 107 to a drone that does not have one ?
Hello, for drones that do not have one you must purchase a Remote ID module. Check out our video on some of the offerings czcams.com/video/1BlKOfePPfQ/video.html and czcams.com/video/neUkYDODL_M/video.html
So with a Mavic 3 classic that is only for fun does or does not need to be registered?
Hello, because the Mavic 3 classic weighs more than 0.55 pounds it would need to be registered. If you are just flying for fun, you can have one registration number for all of your drones. You will also need to check out the remote ID requirements.
I had mini 3 pro drone earlier howver now I have ordered mini 4 pro on exchange and planning for Italy trip in few weeks so I would like to know about the registration and permit applications
Thanks
We're not sure what the rules are for flying a drone in Italy, but you can take a look at the EASA site, www.easa.europa.eu/en/domains/civil-drones
Hello! question: Im planning to take my test by end of month, for my new drone that I just bought and plan to use commercially , can I register as part 107 remote ID now or do I have to wait until I pass my test? thanks!
Hello, you can register at anytime, you just can't legally fly it commercially until you have your license. Registration is instantaneous and only good for three years. We recommend waiting till you pass the exam and registering it then. It will save you from losing a month of your 3 year registration period. Good luck with the exam!
With the advent of Remote ID, I removed all FAA registration stickers, and my phone number, from all my drones. The FAA can go pound sand.
I'm 17 years old and bought a DJI Mini 3 (not Pro) because I'd like to start up a business to make some extra money. I also just really like photography.
Awesome! Starting a drone business is a great option to make some extra money that may become a full-time gig. How long have you had your drone license?
@@maxen3907@maxen3907 Well, you definitely should start with getting your license. You are obviously past the 16-year-old limit. What is your plan? Are you going to learn on your own, use a course like ours, or something else?
I still have my Phantom 4 Pro. I think I registered it 5 years ago when I purchase it. I haven't been utilizing my part 107 licsent, as a matter of fact it's need to be renewed next month
If it was 5 years ago, you'll need to reregister. Make sure to check out dronezone and see what is in your inventory. Have a great day!
Do you need to register a dji 2 se in EU
We aren't very familiar with EU laws. You may find what you are looking for at EASA www.easa.europa.eu/en/domains/civil-drones-rpas/open-category-civil-drones
Can I register the new drones under a company name rather than my personal name. So as when if these drones are identified in the field it will only refer to a company name rather than my personal name.???
Hello, yes you can register a drone under a company name. Go to the DroneZone, and when it asks for the Part 107 Account Name, use the company name. Good luck!
@altitudeuniversity A huge Thank you, I passed the 107 day before yesterday and have 4 drones I haven't even opened yet. 2 mavic 3's,1 pro 1 thermal, 1 matrice 30T, and an air3. I have a feeling that eventually I'll get attention, and if I find out if a name comes up on their app, I'll let you know.
@@Lookin4Things Congrats on passing the exam! We wish you the best in your career as a commercial drone pilot!
Now of we could only get the FAA to be as attentive to plug door assembly as they are with RID.
They definitely have a lot on their plate now with all the issues happening in crewed aircraft.
@altitudeuniversity Is it possible that the FAA fell into focusing on bureaucratic minutia as opposed
to considering real-world risk prioritization?
@@edruttledge342 I think they have a complex task trying to balance the flood of drones entering the skies compared to crewed aircraft. A bit of an over-correction, but as time goes on hopefully, it is a little more balanced :)
Mavic air 2, vacation photography for clients, moving to Medellin Columbia
Yeah. Not going to do that.
Not complying with this garbage does not make you "dangerous" or a bad person, complying with this is going along with the the destruction of our hobby by big business.
We always recommend following the rules. While it may seem like a needless thing it helps to keep us all safe :)
@@LeoH3L1 Following the rules is always the way to go. Thanks for your comment.
@@altitudeuniversity The rules in tyrannical regimes too?
Sorry no, just following the rules is too similar to "just following orders."
@@altitudeuniversity It doesn't keep us safe, it keeps us controlled and a source of income.
I've been flying RC for decades, registering does NOT change anything.
When am i required to have a N- registration number? is a construction corp required?
N-Numbers are associated with crewed aircraft. Drone registration numbers start with FA. The video will show the steps for registering a drone but not a crewed aircraft. As for questions regarding needing a corporation or not, we always recommend contacting an attorney or other legal professional. We hope that helps!
I'm considering getting the FIMI X8SE 2022 V2 drone. It is above 250g. Would I also need to get a Remote Pilot Certificate from the FAA?
Hello, it depends on how you will use it. If you are just flying it for fun and nothing else, no. But, if you are using it for anything that is considered commercial, that would include things like loading the videos to social media, then yes, you would. How do you plan to use it?
@@altitudeuniversity, Mainly I would use it to take an aerial photograph that I would try to sell.
@@randomkind1001 Then you will definitely need to get your part 107 license. Check out our course, we think you'll like it www.altitude-university.com/enroll
I hady drone stolen from my commercial vehicle how can I find out where it is
I have Dji Mini 2 Se so I require Ragitar In Usa 🇺🇸 Tennessee state?
If you are flying a drone commercially, they all need to be registered. How are you using your drone?
@@Apple_143 If you plan on doing anything commercial, it will need to be registered. It's thankfully an easy process and only $5!
What about Home built drones? I build my own.
According to the FAA "All drones must be registered, except those that weigh 0.55 pounds or less (less than 250 grams) and are flown under the Exception for Limited Recreational Operations."
DJI Air 3 - Hobby, just messing for around with.
If it is just for fun you can register all your drones under a single registration number.
DJI MINI 3 RECREATIONAL just for fun... But just incase I do want to upload on youtube if my channel takes off I need a registration number ya know
@@Joshinyou If you load the footage to CZcams you need a Part 107 license. The FAA considers CZcams commercial work. The remote ID serial number should be in the battery compartment on the drone. it is the same serial number as the drone.
Even if you don't think you will be making money by posting the footage on CZcams the FAA can still hit you on it if they choose to. A lot of people don't realize it, but that is technically what the law says.
I hope that helps, thanks for watching the video!
That's the 5 dollar license correct? I've taken the trust test certification as well as paid for recreational use 5 dollars now in the process of paying another 5 dollars per the 107
Just paid and registered for the part 107 I wish I could email you pictures of what I've done so far as I have printed out what I've needed to as well saved in my email. Would I need to list both numbers on the underside of my drone 🤔
@@Joshinyou Hello, if you only have one drone, you can just list the registration number that is associated with commercial work. There is no need to put the other number since the commercial registration number can cover both. I hope that helps.
Im not US citizen, and i am going to Bahamas, im gonna stay 5h at Miami airport, do i need a registration for my dron? Thanks in advance
If you are not flying the drone, you will not need to register it. I am assuming you are just having it as a carry-on for your flight, right?
@@altitudeuniversity Yes, im gonna wait for my connection flight to Bahamas, im just scared from confiscation on the airports is that posible, thank you bro🙏🏽
@@andrijaarsovic5308 I doubt that will happen. Registration is required to fly it and if you are just bringing it into the airport you should be fine. Safe travels!
Working on getting my certificate for drones for our county. Than will get one for myself.
Best of luck on your journey. What country are you trying to get certified in?
@@firechief40 I thought you said "country," not "county" LOL. Best of luck getting your cert. I've used drones with SAR and it is great.
Do we need register drone if we are foreign?
If you plan to fly it you will need to register it and you should take the TRUST exam as well. You can not fly commercially without a Part 107 license though.
Not gonna comply lol I don't post videos of my flights so until I see the FAA police I don't care
We know many people feel the same as you do and all we can say is we encourage everyone to fly safe and legally :) Be safe out there!
No thanks!
Thank you for your help. I just registered my new Dji mavic 3 classic following your instructions. Fly safe guys…
Awesome! Let us know how you enjoy flying it!
