Dan Vasc absolutely owns this song. His performance deserves the highest awards and acclaim. Chills goosebumps tears...he provokes all the emotions. There is no one else that can surpass this amazing performance.
This is the type of song his voice was made for. A fantastic presentation of the song.
God, Superstar has been a major part of my life since the original stage show hit London. 1970(My middle brother was in musical theater we got everything before it hit Broadway) I even saw Ted Neely on stage.This is an excellent representation of the piece.
Thank you for reacting to this. I have also seen a few different versions of this, but Dan Vasc's cover absolutely wipes all the others off the planet. It so deserves way more views than it has. Thank you again.

This really does make you think twice about that night in Gethsemane.. Jesus was mortal, so yes fears, anger regret all sorts of things before the final submission, we were taught he just was accepting and was praying. Dan's version just has to be the best I've seen and I'm in my 70's now so seen a few.. love from UK as always

Phenomenal reaction to a phenomenal singer
For years, I was so angry at His "friends", His followers, for falling asleep instead of praying like He had asked them to do. It took me a long time to forgive them. What would have changed? Perhaps every person would have had a change of heart & then chosen to believe. (But, that was just the beginning of what all had to be done, as I learned later).
All that just to say how much I appreciate & even love a song I use to despise, all thanks to Dan & the way he emphasizes with his entire being.

On our school trip to London 1976 I saw Jesus Christ Superstar live on stage. It’s still makes a deep impression on me and gave me a whole new look on the role of Judas. He had to play his part in the story and no change to do otherwise.

I didn't know Tom had sung this, I love most of what he has done, watched him doing the BGT audition and everything after. But personally, I still prefer Dan's version. But that's just my opinion. It's a good job we don't all like the same things, it would be a very dull world. Hugs!

I’ll be honest, I hate “Jesus Christ Superstar”, but Dan Vasc makes me feel like it could actually be a good musical if he played Jesus or even Judas. He performs that song with such conviction, all the other versions I have seen make me cringe. I can’t imagine liking the show any other way.
