I never heard much of this guy because here in Toronto Canada in the mid 90s which is when these highlights took place it was impossible to follow Sonics basketball if wasn't nationally televised. He's actually a LOT more animated compared to other commentators I've ever heard! Not a bad choice from you at all.
threw it way behind him.. this looks like it actually bounces off Zo's head, but i think it bounces off his shoulder. i like that lefty transition jam over Zo..
Yeah he did, Kemp dunked on Mourning three times. But the referee called a technical foul on Kemp after that last vicious alley oop tomahawk dunk on Mourning for taunting. That was some bullshit.
The dunk at 1:04 is my all time favorite Kemp dunk. A step inside the free throw line. Dunks left handed even though he is right handed like it is nothing. He leans his whole body forward in mid air. He dunked it like Mourning wasn't even there. Mourning jumped too and his head is below Kemp's shoulders.
.Kemp was for me a "Wildest Dunker" in NBA History. .When he was in air for others was much better to stay on ground. .Unpredictable style of his "experimental" dunks confused mentally many of the best defenders for Years.
THis was a unique set of kemp highlights that i had not seen before. He threw down on Derek coleman, david robinson, etc. SHawn kemp was the quickest, fastest, and most explosive player in NBA history during his NBA prime for a player of his hieght. What an amazing talent.
@Daniel G What does it matter whether I comment on something 5 years ago or 50 years ago Let alone 5 minutes ago. Oh I forgot your memory only go far back as 2 weeks.
I miss the Sonics being that I'm from Seattle. Kevin Callabro was one of the best announcers ever. Sonics and the Blazers were always a great Northwest battle. Kemp smashes Mourning, that just doesn't happen.
I looove this dude! Kemp was on another level! Amazing and this was on a nightly basis. Amazing player! They need a team in Seattle to properly appreciate this dude by retiring his and Payton's jersey in the rafters. First ballot hall of famer!
Best game dunker , him and Payton actually changed the game to what we see today with crazy lobs . Well ahead of their time . Thanks goodness MJ didn’t do half of this stuff otherwise we would never hear the end of it . That up and under layup 30 secs in was insane . I miss him and pippens game dunks .
by far the best vid of kemp. this shows that sick style kemp had when he would throw down those nasty one handed dunks on people, brings me back big time, most entertaining duo ever in kemp and the glove
Kemp should be in the Hall of Fame. He was an incredible talent and simply sensational to watch. Kemp and Dominique are the best in game dunkers of all time and he was an MVP caliber player in his prime. The fact that his prime was cut short because of his gain weight should not matter, we saw enough, he gave us enough memories, he did enough to earn his spot in the HOF. No one can think about the 90's era of the NBA and not remember with joy the Reign man and his spectacular dunks.
Mate, this is a gem of a video. So many great Kemp dunks in this package that i haven't seen in ages or ever seen before. Love your work, more like this please
exactly, there's a youtube vid of Kemp talking about Blake. He calls those "Slappers or Slap ins". Dunks are when the rim bends. So the Mosgov dunk is a failed dunk. Kemp had the greatest combo of Power AND Finesse. His reverse double clutch dunks were so clean and perfect... no one in the game is close to that.
As a kid in the 90s, I had over 45 Shawn Kemp cards. Been too long that I dont remember how many or what happened to them, but ya he was my favorite player.
If you watch Kemp v Robinson/Olajuwon early in his career they blocked Kemp a lot. Shawn learned a lot from those 2. Get seperation with his body and foot work and to take it stronger to the basket. apart from some careless fouls be was so unselfish. Always be my fav player.
I miss that era. Remember being so excited to rush home to watch the games on TV. Kemp & Payton were so fun to watch. Present day NBA games are so boring now; it's just 3 pt line to 3 pt line back and forth all game with no one playing defense
The sonics legend of the 90s that never won an NBA title. He was phenomenal as a power forward. Shame he couldn't win an NBA MVP Award, or a championship.
Aye Carumba! Its reignin' tomahawks and magic carpets in this video. I can never remember the name of the announcer but he is almost as legendary as Shawn himself. Love it!
thanks for the upload. These are great clips, because they aren't the same 100 recycled clips that everyone has seen a million times.....I also love that they're from the 94-95 Season
Kemp was the best power forward ever when he was in his prime no one could should him down. Just all around explosive and dominant. Also this video is nice because of the annoucing of Kevin Calabro.
If Kemp would have kept his personal life in order...theres no doubt in my mind he could have been one of the greatest of all time. Sad how he fell so far, so fast & so hard.
Sometimes I forget he was mostly in his early 20's in these clips, which kinda explains his post-dunk celebrations. Man, I can't blame him for ending the way he did. That young with so much fame, money and athletic prowess. I'm just glad he's doing well and not one of those broke former-athletes.
This is why I love the old school basketball because of highlights like this and this man was on another level on the court. And on a side note I have a you tube channel type in Russell Mills May 22, 2017 to find me
Great compilation! His regular dunks alone is better than Blake best dunks. The unorthodox style, the pose, his grace into air then finishing it off with power and coming down loose goosy legs.
Shawn Kemp was a freakish dunker, I saw his improvements and it was scary good to see. Hell even better than Vince Carter. In the playoffs Kemp made unbelievable plays on offense and defense. It was like seeing a storm coming from a distance with Kemp. 😂😂😂
Griffin is solid as a rock and he takes off and then lands like a sack of potatoes. Kemp was fluid and flexible as if he was some kind of alien race. He also had a big bone around the back of his skull which made him look like an alien. There will never be another player like Kemp.
A young in shape Kemp was a force to be reckoned with. If he worked on his mid range shot more and add more killer instinct like Jordan. Geez that would be scary. Kemp should be a hall of famer. His dunks are second behind Jordan.
Man I miss watching this guy play. And Kevin Calabro the commentator compliments those dunks perfectly!
Didn't realize how good we had it...
I forgot how good he was
Kevin Calabro helped make Sonic basketball more fun to watch.
Shawn Kemp and Kevin Calabro - such a perfect match!
As if the dunks weren't enough, Kevin Calabro was the cherry on top. 3:15 is just gold: "He glides in and Tamma-HAKS it home...OUCH!"
The best in game dunker
No doubt, and dunked on the best shotblockers regularly
@@hparas1 oh yeah, if kemp is coming you gonna regret jumping with him!
One of the best dunkers of all time.
Shawn Kemp looked like he was having a blast every time he played.
Yeah,literally 👃🏿🌬
I don't know who was more entertaining. Shawn Kemp or the commentator?
Samuel Wondim two handed dammed, ha ha haaaaa
I was a teenager during those years and Kemp was my favorite player. I miss the 90's NBA
Pretty sure that's Kevin Calabro. Greatest game caller ever. Ever.
Chick Hearn...
@@CstWstFllwer Objectively speaking hard to argue, but give me a Kemp-Calabro mix any day.
I never heard much of this guy because here in Toronto Canada in the mid 90s which is when these highlights took place it was impossible to follow Sonics basketball if wasn't nationally televised. He's actually a LOT more animated compared to other commentators I've ever heard!
Not a bad choice from you at all.
Definitely Calabro.
The greatest NBA play by play announcer in my opinion.
That's Calabro. I grew up on him. He's the best and he'd be recognized as the best of he hadn't spent his career in the pacific northwest
The most electrifying man in NBA history. The play at 1:25 is unmatchable by any of today's players.
threw it way behind him.. this looks like it actually bounces off Zo's head, but i think it bounces off his shoulder. i like that lefty transition jam over Zo..
Giannis is like that tho. He even had that Kemp lean finesse before he put on all that muscle.
@@Lymbe06 Nah, no even close. Gianis more like Pip
@@nekbeth Maybe prime Blake Griffin.
The original Seattle BEASTMODE!!!
Kemp+Calabro: AY AY AYYYYYY :D
This guy was an animal. My favorite player in the 90's
Kemp in his prime = beast
Damn, did he posterized Zo Mourning ?!!! 😳
Hell yeah !!! 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
My man Kemp. 🙌🏾
Yeah he did, Kemp dunked on Mourning three times. But the referee called a technical foul on Kemp after that last vicious alley oop tomahawk dunk on Mourning for taunting. That was some bullshit.
The Greatest Dunk Artist of ALL TIME! Reign Man...
Kemp knew how to put on a show. hall of fame, put this man in
That was great. Love his little mannerisms. RIP Sonics
The dunk at 1:04 is my all time favorite Kemp dunk. A step inside the free throw line. Dunks left handed even though he is right handed like it is nothing. He leans his whole body forward in mid air. He dunked it like Mourning wasn't even there. Mourning jumped too and his head is below Kemp's shoulders.
the two handed rammer! the best dunker of ALL time!
Before Vince, there was Shawn.
My favorite high fly powerful dunkers ever. I miss them.
Shawn kemp is very underrated especially when it came to him riding that "magic 🎩 carpet ride.".. miss the old NBA 😪
sick left hander on alonzo
.Kemp was for me a "Wildest Dunker" in NBA History.

0.14 min an beautiful dunk by reign man , a superb play by on the most electrifying player in nba history
This is an awesome clip. Kemp was a monster - very powerful and dynamic player.
Thanks for making this, man. BRING BACK OUR SONICS!
The Pelicans should be in Seattle, New Orleans doesn't care about basketball.
kemp is not the best player in nba, but he is absolutely the best dunker in nba! i watch nba from 1990, no one can make me feel more high than kemp!!!
Lol but the NBA did not start in 1990
@Daniel G What does it matter whether I comment on something 5 years ago or 50 years ago Let alone 5 minutes ago. Oh I forgot your memory only go far back as 2 weeks.
@Daniel G Exactly not I need you to take a deep breath and tell me something I don't know
@Daniel G I haven't won anything or I haven't lost anything think about it
Best in game dunker OF ALL TIME.
Kemp was a total savage! Nobody ever went at larry Johnson like that and came out unscathed! He was a delight to watch play
He sure was something special to watch in the open court.
Oh boy... Reign Man in his prime, the quickest PF ever played. And the COOLEST SWAGGER. Much love from Brasil!!
NBA version of Beast Mode.....damn that guy was the shit!
I miss the Sonics being that I'm from Seattle. Kevin Callabro was one of the best announcers ever. Sonics and the Blazers were always a great Northwest battle. Kemp smashes Mourning, that just doesn't happen.

food stand the money dunk prizer avabile
I watch for Kevin Calbro's reactions, which, to me, are just as good as the Reignman's dunks
You nailed it. Just found out he's the Portland announcer now. What a shame he's only known locally in Pacific northwest. Guy is a legend
nobody in the NBA could stop a fast break with Detlef, Kemp, and Payton barreling down the court. Nobody.
POWER forward...people remember the dunks for good reason but his low post game and handles were ridiculous...a truly unique beast
That commentator was superb, pure 80/90s verbal swagger.
NBA should clone Shawn! NBA need badass players like Kemp & Sprewell!
Best game dunker , him and Payton actually changed the game to what we see today with crazy lobs . Well ahead of their time . Coaches before games against Shawn Kemp: what ever you do, if you see Shawn with the ball dont jump! Its a waste of energy to try to block him!
Shawn Kemp is probably the most entertaining dunker of all time! This guy was a monster. I don't see that from any players in the NBA these days. :(
Lol, that announcer was hilarious! Very interesting descriptions. "Ohh!! Puts it back with a two-handed rammer!" LOL

Love it. No fancy editing or music, just rare, original Kevin Colabro commentated footage of my all-time favorite player. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

At 3:15 The commentary haha the emphasis on tomahawk that’s how Kemp gets ya
Peace
That announcers great " ay yaya " " on a magic carpet ride " 🔬
Good 'ol days, no politics, no BLM, no male feminist, just men playing basketball.
Best part of Kemps dunks was how he celebrated every dunk with a little shimmy or a stare down or he’d point at you lol.
Wow..the dunks and commentary are a perfect match!
I'm just here for the VCR tracker
Man if I could go back to these days!!
Those were the days!! That was a good time
The best Shawn was ahead of his time
Great compilation! His regular dunks alone is better than Blake best dunks. The unorthodox style, the pose, his grace into air then finishing it off with power and coming down loose goosy legs.
Kemp was making these commentators say stuff on the spot
The Sonics commentator took these dunks to the next level!
Shawn Kemp was a freakish dunker, I saw his improvements and it was scary good to see. Hell even better than Vince Carter. In the playoffs Kemp made unbelievable plays on offense and defense. It was like seeing a storm coming from a distance with Kemp. 😂😂😂
This had many unseen dunks from Reign Man.

There will never be another player like Kemp.
I turned 11 this season and I had most of these games recorded. Wish I still had them.
OMG, there is no man who can dunk like this nowadays. He was superior!
Kemp tortured the warriors and trailblazers in the 90’s.
SHAWN KEMP, THE BEST DUNKER.
A young in shape Kemp was a force to be reckoned with. If he worked on his mid range shot more and add more killer instinct like Jordan. Geez that would be scary. Kemp should be a hall of famer. His dunks are second behind Jordan.
The closest to the NBA Jam game!
That dunk millage against David Robinson haha wowwww! He owned him.
RESPECT TO ALL THE PEOPLE THAT REALISE TRUE TALENT THE REIGN MAN SHAWN KEMP, BIG UP EVERYTIME
SHAWN KEMP > Blake Griffin
Modern NBA Fan: Players today are way more athletic than the 80s and 90s
Sean Kemp: watch my highlight video when I played with the Sonics.
Boom! Spectacular! You will never ever feel bored watching him back then. Where Centers and PF dominates the game back then.
greatest shawn kemp video on youtube man! great post!
love his body language after a dunk
Glory Days! Kevin Calabro on the announcing was amazing.
this shows how nasty kemp was, how many dunks he would have in any given game, loving this video
Shawn WAS DE MAN. Respect son!
man this is just amazing to watch! great video !
