I don't know which possible interpretation of this I prefer: that the Sorrow duology is actually just a retelling of a particularly epic DnD session, or that it actually happened in-universe and the gang became friends after their adventures together and hang out and play DnD from time to time
This would actually make a great campaign

It sure did. Only thing I missed was Ayami Kojima's art style. Did not dig the anime redesigns at all.

I always found it weird whether you play as Soma or in Julius mode, that Abaddon comes after Death. You’d think Death would be the final triumph card or the last wall of defense or something like that
Is this your only Castlevania game? *In most games, Death isn't the second to last Boss* , it is (in best case scenario) the Third to last boss like here. In Aria of Sorrow, Death isn't even the third to last boss LOL.

@@mammothplant Death is 3rd to last in CV2(Where there's 3 bosses in total) CV3 and Bloodlines, 4th to last in Rondo, non-existant in Gameboy and Arcade games.

About the only differences are:
> You are not fighting against Dario a second time.
> You are not fighting against Menace.
> No dialogue?
> You are fighting against Soma.
Some music changes(Beginning, Bloody Tears and Vampire Killer in some areas), dialogue when you recruit Yoko and Alucard and before the final battle(which changes depending on who you went in with)
Don't have to draw the seals
Almost forgot about those as well!
There are also cutscenes, but there are only six:
1. Julius meets up with Yoko in her shop
2. Julius meets up with Alucard
3. Cutscene before you fight Soma if you used Alucard when you entered the portal in the abyss leading to him
4. cutscene before final boss battle if you used Julius to enter the portal
5. Cutscene before final boss battle if you used Yoko when you entered the portal
6. A short cutscene of Yoko, Julius and Arikardo watch the castle crumble after killing Soma
I feel like they put more effort into the Soma Cruz battle that the normal final battle.

I played this on my ds lite when i was 5 or 6, and i loved this game! Oh nostalgia! However, my brother brought it to school with him, and someone stole it. Thanks for the nostalgia, though!

The AOS Julius mode wasn't so good because Soma (Dracula) was not the final boss. In this game, you fight Soma instead of the normal final boss.

No, this is a result of Ending 2.
TLDR:-
Ending 1: Dario dies
Ending 2: Mina dies
Ending 3: True End. Everyone lives (except the bad guys)

But at that ending, we didnt know it was a doppleganger(only revealed if you're on the path to the True End), and Soma goes crazy only because he thought Mina died so....

There's a lore-related reason in Balore's case. His left eye fires lasers uncontrollably, which presumably hurts him and so he needs to use it sparingly.

Matias Igancio Quintana Vilches this is Julius Belmont mode, on this mode, you don't need to do the seals, but history-wise, it is the bad ending when Soma Cruz choose the dark path.
