These are lovley models, yours is a great example! I have one from 62, with a different piston rod and burner. Yours has an extremely rare burner with it. Great video as always 👍

Thank you very much! I’ve got a few mamods myself (18 steam engines, 7 of which are mamods)

I have never seen a mamod chuck out so much water. The Copper pipe from piston to boiler, how deep does end of pipe go into boiler, can check with say old bicycle spoke pocked up drain plug hole for probe feel. Otherwise a near mint engine.

What was the reason for the chimney leak?

Hi. The engine hasn’t run much so it’s still settling in so that’s called priming, it’s just water being drawn from the boiler into the engine and up the chimney

That is a Mamod SR1 Nut & Bolt. Indeed, one of the earliest. I have never seen one throwing that much water! What are you doing to this poor thing? Are you sure you know how to run this? I can't believe you actually dumped water into the smoke stack!

It’s throwing water out because I later found out the steam pipe extends too far into the boiler. Yes I do know how to run these thank you very much I’ve been doing it for many years. I wasn’t putting water in the chimney I was using a syringe to take the water OUT which was inside
