@@thisdeath Who cares if they are exposed? Their yelp reviews are public and they aint doing nothing to improve their food, so F them. It's not like it was hard to figure out. Just write one of those reviews, verbatim, into google and the yelp page for the restaurant pops right up.

I think it's a Canadian thing. We stay humble. Even when you're from a city like Toronto...we're fairly polite and shy people (which I suppose isn't a humble thing to say, but after living in nyc I realized how polite my hometown is)

Totally agree with you on the yelping and rating of restaurants, especially when it comes to people mostly only leaving the best or the worst reviews. It's unrealistic for customers AND business owners to think that their business is deserving of 5 stars ALL the time. I LOOOOOVVEEEED this format of not blasting them publicly and of TRYING to find something positive to say even in the face of how bad it is. I could tell when your dad said he was more mad at the people for liking it than the chef who made it he as probably thinking "This is really not hard, I could teach that guy how to do this." He's a nice guy and a nice chef. Glad you're close to him.

I really respect not naming the restaurant and giving a little glimpse of what it's like from a restaurant owner's perspective. That's something the other videos you mentioned that we also watched, but your take and your dad's commentary made for a more interesting conversation.

for example would be interesting to see his perspective on the food critic, his experiences with them butting heads or dining in his restaurant and other random annecdotes The reaction at the end when the critic tries the ratatouille and has a flashback experience and if he's had moments like that in real life. His thoughts on the movie saying "anyone can cook", etc.

@@vincevvn not really, I’m sure the restaurant would be able to identify they’re own products. And the dad gave multiple critiques on the shrimp and the onion rings I believe. So like they didn’t really spare their feelings. The son gave multiple hints as to where and what the diner could be. Cause think about it like this Coconut Fried Shrimp doesn’t really sound like something you’d find all over the place.

Oh my god I just love this. I found your channel the other day. I like to think I'm an iron chef at home and do crazy cooking projects. I have enjoyed watching this so much. I think it would be pretty neat to see your dad try to recreate, especially the fast food chicken sandwiches and show people how they can make something better at home. Like a knockoff Popeyes chicken sandwich or a knock off Chick-fil-A.

Jet, so glad you didn’t post the name of the restaurant. As you said and it’s so very true… most people ONLY ever leave a rating if it’s the very best or the worst thing they’ve had and that can really screw a decent place over. Even though this place evidently actually deserved the rating you were respectful not to drag them down even further.
It's easy to find the name of the place if you type a sentence out of the reviews he showed, into Google, in quotes.
No place with a 1.5 rating is going to be serving decent food, otherwise it would have an equal number of good reviews and they would even out to a 3.
Why shouldn't people be warned of what they're about to waste their hard-earned money on? A restaurant is not entitled to my business and money.
