    Hey thanks for the review. I'm looking for a high end BA set that has strong punchy bass with forward lush vocals and treble thats well extended yet not fatiguing.
    Watching this review seems to meet my preference. So thx again for the review sir 😁

    Just got the sr8 and wow I love it. Bass is tight, clean and fast. Mids are lush, forward and thick. Treble isn't shouty, sibilant nor fatiguing. A very dynamic and musical yet natural timbre iem that is so great all rounder.
    Only nitpick would be lacking in subbass and airy region. Other cons would be poor packaging that can't fit in the sr8 and lacking essential cleaning accessories.
    Overall, I rate the sr8 an 8.8/10

    It s a myth that BAs lack in bass.If they are well implemented they are equal or better but you need at least two to be able to bring the quality and the rumble

      BAs can do a fantastic job with bass. People widely disagree on what bass should sound like, though. Good bass is so natural that it never stands out, but many don’t like this, hence why most preference curves exaggerate the bass a fair amount.

      @@Cujobob I mean that is only for music that doesn't have a bass emphasis in the mix. If you lack bass for a track that is supposed to have a large amount of bass. The IEM is simply lacking it. By the same token, if you have too much bass for a track that doesn't have such a focus you are too overly focused on it. For example EDM and Jazz. As such the usual goal is for like you said, for the IEM to have a neutral sound while still assuming the average listeners HRTF ( or penna effects ). In this way, when the user listens to different tracks, the focus of the track can come from the mix or the track itself rather than some tuning that is overly specific to the song.
      If you think about it, while mastering a song you are able to EQ every aspect of the song separately, while when you EQ or tune an IEM this is applied to the whole track, as such a neutral tuning is essentially the only viable option, assuming you want to be able to use the IEM for whatever you want, and listing to well mastered music should fix the lacking feeling of bass if you have it.
      for the case that you are listening to poorly done music, you can simply EQ in the amount of bass or mids or whatever you'd like. The best case would be that the song already does this and bakes it into the master, if not you can create some presets and switch according to what type of music you are listening. The downside is that this is somewhat tedious, in but that is what you have to deal with for sound quality when listing to poorly mastered music.
      the main reason for IEMs specifically having to include the HRTF into the tuning is this: if it's in the song itself, it would present a very unnatural sound for speaking, as speakers do not bypass the ear penna, as essentially you are counting it twice, the same thing for headphones too.

      Absolutely! Shure 846 are a prime example of how good Bass can be with a BA set and they are 10 years old.

    Приветствую! Отличный обзор! Я бы не сказал что у SR8 сцена маленькая, они вытягиваю т столько деталей, что получается эффект, когда много людей в маленькой комнате. Удачи Уважаемый!

    I think the HiSenior Mega 5 EST are a bit interesting, extremely sensitive to tips and they need to be cranked to really experience the mids. I’m not sure it’s my favorite balance overall.
    One IEM I think everyone should try is the Night Oblivion Butastur. It’s an extremely balanced set, but its main drawback is that the bass isn’t the hardest hitting. It’s a very neutral IEM with incredible vocals and detail without being fatiguing.

      I've had my eye on the Butastur for a while. Definitely planning to get a pair and review it in the future! 🙂

    For the SA6 MK2, is it better to turn the switches on or off? Thanks!

    • @PraisedAudio
      @PraisedAudio  Před měsícem +1

      It depends on how much bass you want. For more bass have it on, for less have it off. I prefer the on setting. 🙂
