That opening clip has made me choose. I went ninja in Nioh, and I've been kind of doing both onmyo and ninjutsu atm but god damn that was insane
i was doing that also.. now i dont use the ninjutsu skills.. just pure casting
I am also a spammer, ninjutsu/onmyo is fun but it is easy to run out of available consumable slots even with the 4 tabs you can get hidden in the game options

I've been hard on onmyo in both alotta fun playing magic in any game
if you choose the skills wisely the ninjustu and onmyo building did lots of damage and much easy to getting close to boss by using your melee weapon，I am still in the early game I am using monkey as guild animal, you can use onmyo mage summon it to attack, will mostly set your enemy on fire, then combo it wiz explore talisman oh the damage is so sweet!
Love the build Cowboy. Been watching you since Dark Souls 3 and I love playing your builds. I ended up getting super lucky with a Phoenix Wing and ended up getting an additional A+ magic scaling. This build is making that thing absolutely shred

I've been waiting for this video Cowboy, I've been slowly building up an Onmyo build myself and looking good so far, I've got around 80 something in Onmyo already (I work 10 hour shifts can't really sit down and play unless it's on a day off) and I've just beaten the double trouble boy, knowing I'll have to grind him for gear is kinda disheartening but hey at least I know where I can get his gear now. Either way now I can't wait till I get to the end and can start building and really finalizing the build in NG+, you showing the benefits of the shots over the AOEs really helped, I'm surprised you didn't bring up Sloth Talismans though, they are no where nearly as strong as they were in Nioh one but they are still being a life saver for a NG run from what I've noticed.
Finally. A build guide that I can use being that I run switch and odachi lol. Thank you and love the work you to do your videos

Hi cowboy, not sure if you're aware of this....but the 4 pieces bonus of Seimei and Onmyo Warrior can co-exists, meaning on each spell cast you can simultaneously apply both Atk and Def debuff on the target.

I’m currently still finishing Nioh right now already did the final mission with the thousand Eyed monster and now just finishing sub missions.
Though I do watch a lot of you’re build videos, so I can see the game but note spoil it for myself, but in Nioh I wasn’t big on magic my highest level for Magic and Dexterity my highest level for Magic was 10, though I later learned having high magic and Dexterity really makes the game so much easier I resolved my builds around strength which of course is probably where I go wrong.
Anyways I come to watch Cowboys videos until I get the game this Thursday, and watching his Nioh 2 videos I went back and learned a lot I didn’t understand in Nioh.
Love the build man but I found better results personally with the split staff but this was a great starting point and I thank you so much for the guide XD

I’m still addicted to noon 2, just got the remastered version on my new ps5 and this is still my go to build. I literally never run out of anima.
Can you tell me how to enable the onmyo magic Awakening mystic art. It allows you to cast onmyo magic faster but it won't work

I run this with Water and Lightning sets. Enemies are likely going to be weak to at least 1 of the 2 sets and strictly Gem set. My shots (Basic magic) does no less then 1000 per hit based on resistances and thanks to 40% Untouched Omoyo, I near never run out of magic to cast. Works almost as efficently and my Agility is A. Ninja-esq speed and extremely high magic output, I rarely need the Switchglaive.
But when I do I also have a mix of Steel Talismen and an elemental Talismen. It just shreds enemies with their particular effects (Electic- Paralyze, Water- Weakness). In high stance I land roughly 4K in a single combo. Smashes revenants too.

I just started as a switchglaive user this very week, and I love it. I've noticed something that helps with the stance dancing: the game buffers your move input. I mostly swap between mid and high stances; the slower attacks helped me notice it. I was working through DLC 2 when I found this out. I was attacking an enemy, and I thought that I had switched stance way too early. I was not early - in fact buffering the input caused the strike to occur with perfect timing. I don't know how long the input buffer window is, but I can't recommend it enough. Try to do your moves just a bit sooner than you think you need to. You'll be pleasantly surprised.
I tried doing something similar, except I went full caster. Genbu has come in clutch numerous times. All of my onmyo and ungrounds points went into onmyo hit damage and anima charge gain. I put on an infernal one bi soul core (because my ryomen has a -1 effect on his stats, making it possible) to give me extra elemental damage. I went full genmei as you recommended so now I just kill any bosses in my path. I just sloth talisman to lower speed (and now defense), spam elemental shots to gain around 1/3 to 1/4 of my anima per shot, and spam otakemaru. Just for fun, I equipped a comb and tempered it to give a AAA+ life drain from an onmyo magic hit. Around 25% untouched onmyo rate to keep me going. I also heavily tempered my armor towards onmyo attack power buffs and defense buffs based on your Amrita gauge just in case. It really is a wonder how much you help, and I love how the community all puts their own twist to your recommended builds.
I actually was halfway through getting the pieces I needed for this setup, with an almost identical build plan , when I found this video. Is this what validation feels like?
Where did you find the chest? Only piece im lacking, i killed 70 ryomen and no text, and just need the chest to complete the build

As someone who just beat the Bayblade cat i'm super lost right know, all those yokai i never saw... Curently running Switchblade, 40 Magic and Golden Boy set.
A good back up for the secondary guardian spirit is the goat man from hanabi. It buffs phantom abilities by 10% which makes otake super good even if you don't have one with damage increase

Both smithing texts are NG+ mission rewards
They will not drop on first playthrough? I killed double face boss 5 times hoping it to drop....

Never mind it is those 2 missions that drop the text. Unlocked the 5th region after I finished all of the first 2 regions and a bit of the 3rd region if I remember correctly. Was a sad running with a bunch of blue gear but it did the job.
Are Spirit Talismans any good in this game? I remember them being absolutely amazing in Nioh 1 so they were the first thing I specced into when I could in this game but they've been very underwhelming so far. Am I just using the wrong spirits?
I want to start saying that I still haven’t finish the game (just ended region 4) but I don’t find them as good as the 1st game unfortunately. Even when maxed out they cost way too much for me, plus you can only bring 4 of those
They were good in NG in Nioh but their non scaling damage quickly fell behind in late Way of Strong and above.
There are some decent ones in Nioh 2 like Hakutaku.

Awesome, my build was almost like this one without watching the video. I use the senmei set and the white fox mask and get a ton of drain from all the magic.

After these insane builds can we get a video guide on fastest way to beat bosses. Matching character level with mission level. That would be an extremely helpful guide on players stuggling. And it will help optimize previous builds.

Some corrupted weapons be doing serious damage to Yokai but it be the fast hitting weapons like Kusarigama you can apply it fast
Really been enjoying your build videos, still working my way through new game but I’ve been doing a switch glaive/dual swords/Onmyo build so far. Question about plus gear, can you soul match a divine with an epic that has a plus to add a plus to the divine? Just want to know if it’s worth saving these epics with pluses or not. Also caught your live stream the other day, I learned about selling the tea sets from it, great tip. Are you in Furuta clan, or not anymore that you have plenty of gold to work with?

I'm trying to do an Onmyo build, but using the sword and spear. It isn't optimal, but I like those weapons more than the others.
The spears got some of the coolest skills but I used it the least of all weapons

I love running onmyo, though right now im dping more glass canon with ninjutsu, feathers for boss ki down, shots to plough through other enemies (i literally never run out of some magic to throw) while meatgrinding bosses woth scythe...
Had a question, i wanted to get the texts for element scythes but cant find a list and you have them in this vid, where can you get the smithing texts for those? (Pheonix, Sasayuki, etc.)
Otherwise i might restat to try this out, i wasnt a big fan of the shikigami cause they always faded before i could get the bomb off, but seems like fun!

I'm dream of the strong , so I don't have a yasakani, and I'd have to choose just one armor set, so how effective would it be to use the Genmei set only but with splifstaff instead of the switchglaive and then run everything else in this build that I can in DOTS instead of DOTD?

Quick question on with your set bonus it's saying you have the 5 piece bonus yet only 4 are showing I have the exact same as you yet its only saying I have a 4 piece bonus am I missing somthing.

I've been looking at making this for ages and I'm farming Ryumen Sakuna on NG+ and he is not dropping the Onmyo Warrior set at all apart from the rewards at the end. Am I missing something or just bad RNG?
Onmyo warrior does not have a head piece if that's the one messing you up. I also believe there are dojo missions that reward the smithing texts for both that and the genmei mage armor in NG+

Hello again, a little question regardin Attunment cost - I need 1 more attunment to have Thunderstorm Ori - can I somehow increase the number of atunments on my Genbu or I need to roll -1cost on one of my Yokai Soul Cores? edit: yep, I see that you have 1 cost off - I'll have to stick with my kitty-cat soul core for now :(
Here's my question. In the first game, there was a build for infinite living weapon, is there a build in this game for infinite yokai shift?
Maybe? Problem is you do less damage in yokai shift than you do in normal form once you're built up.
FightinCowboy that sucks, the concept is so cool and I wish I could spent more time in the mode.
FightinCowboy Have you seen the reddit post about using Yokai abilities in Yokai form? I feel like with otakemaru in Yokai form every few seconds could be devastating
I'm not sure if you could get it to where it's spammable due to the cost.
@@FightinCowboy I agree with that. Although, I just checked how many lantern fruit and spider lilies I've picked up(a lot). Item builds are a pain, but with anima boosts, this could be where one might go when WoDemon and WoNioh modes pop.

Yeah was testing the switchglaive mystic art. It just felt bad to stack it up. Literally gotta do 5 different combos that LAND the stance switch attack. If you don't hit the stance switch boom no stack and you're probably out if stamina. Even if you get all 5 stacks the damn attack is a charge attack so you stand there doing nothing for a bit. People using switchglaive just focus on the normal stuff for the most part and dont worry too much on the mystic skill as it's not worth it trying the get it off. Maybe get a few stacks? But just focus on walking the enemy you'll do better that way with switchglaive.
Ok how just how are you using the ravenwing rifle getting the first ability in the set when you only have one piece on how?🤔
