こんなふわふわした子が、ドラム叩くとあんな感じになるギャップが凄すぎて、今年一番のギャップ萌えです。
How do I reconcile watching this very polite and smiling interview and endorsement, with absolute serial killer speed, power and accuracy that slams your head into a brick wall? I don't. There are few drummers that pound like Junna does, and I'm tired of keeping her as a secret. Please take my money when you come to America.
Keep watching videos of drummers and you'll come to see that there are far greater ones out there, including female ones. Not to say Junna isn't amazing, because she is. But compared to the best she simply aint cutting it. I'm not trying to hate right now, nor am I being negative in any way. In fact, I'm being really positive. There's so much more for you to explore and discover :)
I'm not sure who you might be saying is far better, but if they are playing a genre of music no one cares about it doesn't really matter how good they are in a technical sense. No one gives a shit.
Senri Kawaguchi is considered one of the best ever, but plays lots of very 'straight-ahead' jazz and fusion that isn't really as exciting however perfectly she does it, not the same wild passion as Junna, but worth a listen if you're not expecting the same thrill. And of course, speaking of 'Thrill', Akane 'The Beast' Hirose of Band Maid is another you might like, very little of this cover solo work, but the band is the best.
Senri is absolutely amazing.
It is unfortunate for the world she loves the jazz genre, because very few in the world outside of her peers will ever know her name.
When she came to L.A. for NAMM she stunned the crowds with her skill, because no one had heard her before, but no one in the U.S. has heard her since, outside of youtube.
@@timothybrown4583 I'm a huge B-M fan and Akane is a perfect stadium drummer, very similar to Junna as in she prefers the thump, you won't see large racks of toms or all the extra kit.
The most popular drummer, musically, with a unique performance, personality, beauty and modesty, always with fireworks of emotion and joy. While watching her videos, I wish they never ended. Junna, the whole world loves you.

Una genia.
She is definitely a breath of fresh air, but best of all, is getting to see the huge smile across her face from the absolute enjoyment from playing drums, no matter what song it is or if she is just messing around. There is no other drug or activity that will ever reach this level of enjoyment, and it reminds me of years gone by long ago. No matter how much time passes by, I will always remember when that same look was on my own face for over a decade. She is the blessing that I had hoped to help create one day, because so few female drummers are ever found. To find one that can, or is able to, actually play this style of music is even more rare. To find one that is able to do all of the above, and also enjoy every single second of it while doing so, is just about impossible. One of my old bass players from one of the Death Metal bands I was in back in the 1990's, had a girlfriend who said she wanted to learn how to play drums. I said great! She wanted me to teach her, and almost immediately I had this vision of her becoming just like Junna. A hard hitting, fast playing, force to be reckoned with! A chick that went out onstage and just absolutely dominated! Unfortunately, like many other people who begin to understand what it takes to just play the intro to a song, it either Inspires them or discourages them. The one's who are destined to become musicians, will almost always remain dedicated to it and be looking forward to learning the next thing. They will show a level of excitement and wonder, and often begin having ideas of their own and start figuring things out for themselves. They don't look at how difficult it is to play a certain chord or drumline, they just keep practicing over and over until they get it, but what they don't do is give up. As far as my protege goes, after my band members and a few members of another band that were friends of ours, all pitched in to buy her a cheap little 5 piece kit for Xmas that year, and add a few extra cymbals and stands that I kept as spares, and off we went. She realized very early on, as most students do, that it was much more difficult than she would have ever imagined, because I made it look so easy. It was at this moment she finally realized just how many hours a week that I practiced. Before, she paid little to no attention of how much earlier I arrived at rehearsal in their garage, or the number of days I showed up and practiced alone. She got the big picture and understood finally, that it takes a lot of work to make drumming look so easy. Lol. Well, after a few months of off and on basic, very simple Instructions, she started playing in our friends band who pitched in on the kit at xmas. Another two or three months go by after that, and she decides that it really wasn't her cup of tea after all. I wasn't surprised or caught off guard, simply because I saw it coming. During this entire time, it became harder for her to put down the cable remote as the months went by. Much more difficult in fact, than it was for her to put down the drumsticks. Heartbroken, yes I was, and very much so, but also understanding enough to know that it's not for everybody. If it was easy then everyone would be doing it, and just like any craft or trade, it takes a certain type of person that will pursue it as long as it takes, for them to reach the level of expertise they want to be at or satisfied with. As if the amount of practice wasn't enough to deter some from exploring this path of music, the outrageous amount of money it takes to purchase anything drum related often becomes the proverbial "final nail in the coffin", that ends up scaring them away. It's almost impossible to become a drummer no matter how bad you want to play due to the overwhelming costs or availability of quality drum equipment! So much of it is cheap ass pot metal that's almost as fragile as ceramic, but yet it has the sticker price of gold. In all honestly, it disgusts me to no end when I think about how many drummers there would be out here now, if only the price of quality equipment wasn't so damn outrageous. It's as ludicrous now just as it was back in the 1990's., with the only exception being much easier to find used music equipment due to cell phones and the internet.

I'm curious about her technique. It looks to me like she's employing some Taiko techniques in her drumming, like how she raises her hand over her head with the drum pointed down. I might be wrong though.
