The Proline Racing Metric body is hands down the most versatile base to start customizing a lexan RC car body from. Allowing you to run it as is, dress it up yourself with either your own 3D printed designs and accessories, or you can do what I did: I ordered the full range of Knight Customs parts for the Proline Metric!
Knight Customs have truly outdone themselves with the available accessories for this Metric body! This isn't an officially licensed body, but even the untrained eye can detect body lines which are very reminiscent of the Toyota Tacoma, and it happens to be that Knight can deliver all the 3D printed files or parts to complete the look. Everything from headlight clusters, grille pieces, a full engine to complete the unique feature which is the opening hood, doorhandles, wipers, tail light clusters and even complete bumpers and roof racks... Possibilities and combinations are seemingly endless!
You can either order the parts through Shapeways, which is a great option if you do not need a lot of parts, as Shapeways is quite pricey: www.shapeways....
If you have a 3D printer or want to get one and get started with 3D printing, going to the store of Knight Customs on My Mini Factory os a preferred option, you can simply purchase the files you need and start creating at home: www.myminifact...
The code HEMISTORM10 or HEMI10 will give you an instant 10% discount on all of your purchases from the prolineracing.com webstore, you can order the Metric through the following link: www.prolinerac...

To anyone new to this channel...
Make sure you go back and watch his video build of the Yeti XXL...
Seriously.. a must watch and a huge inspiration to builders.
I would just like to say thanks for all you do for the hobby and how generous you are with your time. Most people don't bother to share links, files etc and I, like many others, greatly appreciate it.
I was looking very hard at this body for my Enduro kit until I started pricing Shapeways. Next project for me is getting a 3D printer after watching your video, thanks!
pretty interesting to hear "hood" instead of a "bonnet" in Europe=) awesome video as usual. thanks!=)
Where did you go miss your videos
Hi Glenn, thank you for asking. I was building my studio!
Hope everything’s good with you brother, haven’t seen a video in a while so just hoping your okay bro. I don’t do social media stuff just CZcams so haven’t heard from you in a bit. Your family and you stay healthy and safe man.🤙
Thank you for the concern, I appreciate it a lot. All is well, I hope the more recent updates make sense!
Absolutely, trying to find the right cut of land to build my own dream bro, fulfilling a dream shop/studio is an inspiration to the rest of us headed in that direction. Hope I find my way. Thanks Chris, your the man brother

LeonaTimberCompany one heck of a fine collaboration between those two companies indeed! Everything fits together exceptionally well.

DuggRC in part I’m tempted, but I have also done something along those lines with the RC4WD Tacoma! I could swap the wheels?
I just watched the rc4wd Tacoma videos and that turned out very nice.
Great video as always Chris.
Great information, thanks!
You alright bro, haven’t seen any of your videos for a minute? Hope all is well brother and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Great as always 👍
Toyota has some nice greys and tans from factory.
Rodcognito 00 indeed! I wish Tamiya would make more PS paints available in those color ranges.
Hey buddy, how you doing? Haven’t seen any videos for a month or so. Hope all is well. Happy new year.
What a sweet scaler bud ! Man I gotta get into the printing game.. Metal printers will someday replace most of the worlds market. Imagine going to a automotive store and instead of carrying inventory they just print off the part.. same goes with facets. Anyways take care and give me a call sometime brotha 🤘 same number
I just bought one for my element comp truck .
How did you attach the hood??🙏🏻
Thanks love your video!!!
I can't wait to see this one finished! I'm sure it'll be super sweet and detailed. Any updates on the workspace/studio?
Very great vide my friend👍my big like
Awesome man what chassis did you use ? Like to do one on my k5 blazer
Thanks! This is an Axial SCX10 II
hoping you can help me out. I have been looking very hard for a hemi storm addict body for my 5b baja. where and how can I Get one, please!
Love this truck and the collab parts with Knight Customs! Sad how Shapeways has become so money hungry. As someone who does 3d printing, they really stick it to the customer. Which is nice for the little guys in the long term, but still. 3d printing is supposed to be affordable, which Shapeways is not, although their print quality is great. Im glad you brought this to peoples attention.
$600 WTF? Can't wait for paint vid!
👍
Im kinda new to the RC world. What truck are you mounting the body to.
Question, I’ve watch many of your videos, nice work and I’ve watch you paint with fading... Do you have a video on how to gas the colors into each other?
Not yet, but that is a good idea.
I'm glad you're doing an original paint job. I, for one, would have been let down if you had just completed someone else's paint jobs.
Hi Chris can you tell me what light board you recommend Thanks Tom
Wonder how much that all cost
Where is Chris? Mr. "Hemistorm" please chime in and let us know you're all right. Hope all is well.
Cheers,
Jeff (Garage Maker Guy)
Hi Jeff, sorry for the late reply. All is well! I hope you are too.
@@hemistormrc All good here...glad to hear you're alright.
Thank you for pointing out the cost difference between buying files and buying Shapeways printed parts. The ONLY way to go is buying files and printing yourself or paying a friend to print them. Shapeways cost is ridiculous and absurd. Peace
What chassis did you use on this build?
I laughed hearing the "weird accent" comment, visiting Canada a lot and you quickly learn how to pronounce certain words because they literally don't understand my South African Accent! Worst was water... eventualy had to just ask for h2o... oh and border patrol made fun of me saying wife :( lol
Paint it in a pearl green lol
Hahaha! That doesn’t surprise me with your user name. ;)
HemiStorm RC - Custom RC builds, painting videos and more yeah man have a look at my channel and let me know what you think then in the summer you have to get over here to Canada so we can have some fun on the rocks lol
your paint jobs are eptic you ever try to make them look rusted
Not yet, but I will give that a go in the future!
It seems in order for the average person without a lot of money. It would make cone since to buy a 3D printer and download the files and print your own parts. It seems that would be a more affordable option than the purchase each any every part.At 500.00 to 600.00 you could buy a new complete running RTR.No offense to anybody but getting your own 3D printer just makes better since and learn how to download the files and make your own parts. In my humble option that seems to be a more affordable way to go.
Buying parts from these companies helps support our Hobby, I easily spend a grand a month on rc stuff, that’s parts...not whole rc’s.
Hey man, are you ok? It’s been a while
For sure, thank you for asking. New video is up!
C'mon Chris. We love your weird accent!
Weird accent 🤣
Would a 3D printer be in the future for you?
Awesomely informative as usual, looking forward to the next part.
Dutch accent ;)
Nice review, is it just me tho or is the bed extremely long on the Metric. if it where a Hardbody you can easily bob it, unfortunately its lexan so I guess I'll have to pass...
Jesus I need to fire up my 3d printer again.
👍🏽🐒🇺🇸
Dude ar you ok ?
Hi Daan, absolutely! Just been busy!
In its infancy, 3D printing was touted as a cheap way of creating custom parts for the masses. If you look on Shapeways today, it's certainly not cost effective; which is a real shame.
Accent??? What a accent, lol 😆
STOP COPYING ME CHRIS SPOILER ALERT I USE THE METRIC COMING UP HASHTAG WATCH MORE SBG
This is nothing new most any clear plastic lexan body can be done just about any way you wanted if you have the talent
Weird accent, I didn’t notice. 😏
