Cranes are super chill. There's a crane couple that comes to my yard at the same time every year and then will be in my yard a lot for a while. Pretty cool
That's amazing! It's wonderful to have a regular visit from a crane couple in your yard. Their consistent presence and extended stays must be a fascinating experience. Observing these majestic birds up close can offer a unique connection with nature. Enjoy the special moments of sharing your space with them-it truly is a pretty cool phenomenon!
*The heartwarming sight of a crane protecting a baby chick from a deer herd showcases the incredible compassion and cooperation that can exist between different animal species. It highlights the instinct to protect and nurture vulnerable members within their ecosystems.*

Yep and you can tell because ChatGPT thought "chick" meant baby chicken instead of a baby crane which is why it mentions different species despite them all being cranes.
Interesting to note the crane parents give food at water level, half submerged, simple gesture, teachings.
I noticed that.
It's fascinating to observe the behavior of crane parents providing food at water level, partly submerged. This simple gesture holds deeper teachings about their feeding strategies and the unique adaptations they have developed.
*It is fascinating to observe the parenting behavior of cranes, particularly their method of giving food at water level, with half of their bodies submerged. This seemingly simple gesture holds profound lessons. It showcases the adaptability and resourcefulness of these birds in providing nourishment for their young, while also teaching them important skills for survival in their aquatic environment*
Quite a keen observation there. Even in feeding, the baby has to make some effort to "earn" the meal, at the same time learning how to adapt to the right mode of feeding.
Great shots! Our crew got on camera another amazing parent bird, the harpy eagle. We got unique nesting footage showing how harpy eagles use leaves and branches to defend their young against disease. It's fascinating to watch it!
It's incredible to witness the protective instinct of the crane as it shields the vulnerable baby chick from the surrounding deer herd. Nature never ceases to amaze me with its unique and unexpected moments. It's a beautiful reminder of the interconnectedness and compassion that can exist between different species. This crane's act of kindness is truly inspiring and a testament to the innate goodness that can be found in the animal kingdom. Let's cherish and protect these precious moments of harmony in our natural world.

There's a reason Master Crane is part of the furious five in Kung Fu Panda.
*Absolutely! Master Crane's inclusion in the Furious Five in Kung Fu Panda is well-deserved. Despite his seemingly delicate appearance, Crane possesses incredible agility, grace, and martial arts skills. His ability to soar through the sky and deliver precise attacks showcases his unique talents.*

I have a campsite on my land and whenever I pitch my tent, a deer always comes during the night and talks to me. Keeping about 50-100 feet away in the woods. It's a whitetail deer. If you've never heard their calls before, I'm sure you can listen on youtube videos to whitetail deer calls. It's very unique. It will come and talk, several times in a row. Like well over a dozen times each time, sometimes upwards of 20 or so more calls. Then it will leave for a little while, around an hour, sometimes two or even three, then return and talk to me some more, about the same amount each times. Several calls in a row, brief pauses, then several more calls. It goes away I guess to eat and drink, perhaps rest, then returns to talk to me all through the night. It's pretty loud so it awakes me every time it returns to speak, however, I never mind at all and it feels great each time, even though it wakes me up. This happens every single time I camp there. This has been ongoing now for a few years. It's pretty cool. The first couple times, I thought it was angry at me, but I've come to understand it now, it's simply speaking to me.
Of course, I don't speak deer so I have no idea what it's telling me on a human level, but as an American Indian, I suspect my spirit is understanding it's spirit and no doubt learning from it's wisdom. It's a very spiritual connection and I am honored to have it visit with me. Perhaps my ancestors in the spirit world are using it to communicate with me, and providing me with their instructions on how to live in a good way.
In case anyone is wondering, I camp all over and this is the only place this occurs.
Provavelmente ele está reclamando da sua presença no território dele.
@@canseidesersexy308 Google translated:
"He is probably complaining about your presence in his territory."
That was my initial thought also but after listening to the way it's calling, I can tell it's not upset with me. I've heard them blat at me while hunting before and this is much different. It's much more relaxed. It's hard to explain but I can tell it's just talking to me.
It's calls will get very soft, slow and steady. Pauses, then more super soft blats. Then it walks away, blatting a few more times, as it goes deeper in the woods, as if to purposely let me know it's going away for a bit. It's calls are very calm and casual, is the best way I can describe them.
The fact that this particular deer consistently visits your campsite and communicates with you through its calls is quite remarkable. While it's challenging to fully understand the motivations or intentions behind the deer's behavior, it's possible that it has become accustomed to your presence and sees you as a non-threatening presence in its environment. Its calls may serve as a form of communication, whether it's establishing territory, expressing curiosity, or simply engaging in natural behaviors.
@@theddixusait is also still fawning season, they could be signaling a babiee
It's worth noting that that baby probably was in danger. Deer are herbivores, but I've seen them eat easy to catch animals like frogs and bugs before. I think it's a lot like a dietary supplement.
You bring up a valid point. While deer are primarily herbivores and their diet consists mainly of plant matter, there have been observations of them occasionally consuming small animals such as frogs, insects, or even small mammals. This behavior is known as opportunistic or occasional carnivory.
They should retitle this “deer casually walk by cranes” lol
Nature is amazing
*Absolutely! Nature is truly awe-inspiring in its beauty, complexity, and diversity. From breathtaking landscapes to intricate ecosystems and fascinating creatures, there is an endless array of wonders to marvel at. It reminds us of the magnificence and resilience of our planet.*
Where Bambi goes, nothing grows.
*While the comment "Where Bambi goes, nothing grows" may invoke a sense of humor, it's important to remember that nature operates through complex ecological systems. Deer like Bambi play a role in shaping ecosystems by browsing on vegetation, which can have both positive and negative impacts. Excessive deer populations can indeed affect plant growth and regeneration in certain areas.*

The deers to father crane: What’s up? Why the heck you shoo us? We are NOT CARNIVORES tho, we aren’t
Fun fact: deer sometimes do eat birds if they manage to find one on the ground. Mostly they go after the bones and biologists believe it is for them to get certain minerals.
It's important to clarify that deer are indeed herbivores, meaning they primarily consume plant matter as their main source of nutrition. They do not possess the physiological adaptations or dietary preferences of carnivorous animals.
This stunning beauty is of Hokkaido. Yes, crane in Japan means northern part of the country. Being Japanese, scale & beauty of intact nature there belongs to a different world. Glad to see this kind of image. Disproportionately huge legs of crane chick were no surprise, as they're of a precocious type of ontogeny. Unexpected was parental care of feeding chick. Usually those chicks are almost independent of it, mimicking parents to feed themselves. Interesting.
😊😊😊❤❤❤
*Witnessing acts of inter-species protection in the wild is truly remarkable. In this case, a crane stepping forward to shield a baby chick from a deer herd showcases the compassion and instinctual care that can transcend boundaries*

They look similar to the Sandhill Cranes in Florida.
*Indeed, it's understandable that you see similarities between these animals and the Sandhill Cranes found in Florida. Nature often presents us with striking resemblances among different species.*

Maybe, just maybe, reintroducing wolves to Hokkaido, where the went extinct not so long ago, would help regulate the sika deer population and benefit both farmers and the ecosystem!

That poor chick
Poor Chick doesn't even know Newton's laws😭
*While it's true that chicks may not possess a conscious understanding of Newton's laws of motion, their instinctual behaviors demonstrate an innate grasp of physical principles. From the moment they hatch, chicks navigate their environment with impressive balance and coordination. Their ability to move, peck, and explore relies on a subconscious understanding of cause and effect.*

Wildlife only comes because of the opportunity, and having no chose due to the environment destruction.
Well, they should not have had a baby if they knew they could not feed him. That's the way it is!
Fake news, BBC. The deer were never a threat and wouldn't have harmed the little one. But it makes great clickbait and narration.
