    The first thing I do when I leave Mexico is immediately start missing Mexico. We absolutely loved our time in Merida and Valladolid.
    On our way from Valladolid to Cenote Sambula in Dzitnup, we stopped in Chichimila, a charming Mayan village, and ate at El Capitan. That was a great day.

    We arrived at merida Airport at 10pm on 2/29/24 with some apprehension regarding the transportation to our hotel in the city centro. All of the internet talks about the need to take a taxi for at least Mex$300! It turns out the ADO bus into the city center was perfect for Mex$40 for each person. We got off at the 2nd stop, right near the Santa Lucia plaza & walked the few blocks to our hotel. Perfect!!

    • @EatSeeRV
      @EatSeeRV  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Wonderful. ADO buses are great! You can also take a taxi, which is like $8 but you have to walk to the street you can't get the taxi from the Airport (near the rental car place).

      Hola!
      I appreciate and enjoy your helpful videos.
      As to "safety", from My observations, there is an obvious police presence. However, unlike the United States, where the police are overly militarized, here the Merida municipal police are equipped with walkie-talkie radios and batons. The Merida police seem to be more social ambassadors than stormtroopers and are very helpful.
      The National Guard, on the other hand, are more militarized, as I would expect, but they are not as prevelant.
      I've been in El Centro for less than a full week and can easily walk wherever I go.
      However, I'm more concerned with twisting an ankle on the narrow, uneven sidewalks than I am of being a random victim of crime.
      This week, I'm following your trips to the cenotes and other Mayan adventures.👍 👍
