- Tinykin gets a demo ahead of it's August release so today, we're taking a look and giving our first impressions and a breakdown of frame rate! Should this be a day one add to your library or does this miss the mark? Let's find out!
Milo arrives on Earth to find that he's way too small, everybody's gone and a day hasn't passed since 1991!
Team up with the mysterious tinykin and use their unique powers to create ladders, bridges, explosions and a lot more!
Find a way home through a sprawling ant-sized metropolis, and unravel Earth's biggest mystery!
-Explore cities of ants, beetles and other insects built inside of a giant house
-Meet characters everywhere you go and learn their stories and history
-Catch over a hundred tinykin in each city, and use their special abilities to climb higher, break down doors and solve the city's problems!
-Skateboard around on Milo's tiny soap-board! Jump, grind and hover around the house
-Collect upgrades to improve Milo's bubble-pack, build out the Ardwin Museum and complete Ridmi's mysterious machine!

Pretty cool looking. Almost like Pikmin were dropped into Hypercharge Unboxed map.

That would be awesome! A defense in hypercharge that deploys tinykins to go attack enemies would be pretty wild!

Oh I meant as a player defensive unit. So you got your walls, turrets, and boom, tinykin spawner haha!
The Splasher is a true hidden gem that i recommend whenever i can. I didn't know about this new game though, downloading the demo now, thanks Alex.

No way this is a 30 minute demo. 😳 I spent at LEAST 90 minutes getting 100%. Very substantial and generous for a demo.
Yeah for me, I was just playing to beat the concept, not all collectibles which is no doubt why it was quicker for me, as I say, the game after the congratulations screen leaves it open for you to go back and get a huge number of collectibles. Kinda crazy there’s well over 1000
This game looks so unique. That 2D character on a 3D plane look looks amazing.
It looks so similar to the Demon Turf games that I thought they're the devs.
Pikmin was such a gem, that really should have gone more mainstream, so glad to see more in the genre

Looks interesting and kinda of a mix of pikmen and katamari. I probably check out the demo because it has peaked my interest if nothing else for nostalgia that 1991 would bring me.
I’m sure it packs a ton of throwbacks in here for nostalgia!

I seen this demo last night n tried it cause of the Pikiman vibes n this game was even better then I expected. Between the style n gameplay I was so hooked n had a lot of fun collecting all the pollen even after finishing all the objectives.
A ton of collectibles in here right
Can I get 2 bubbles in the demo to get the screwdriver or do I need the full game? Also can't find the 4th letter 🤔
@@soserge2317 You can get 2 bubbles in the demo by collecting half the pollen around the room which I believe is 740 pollen n then u give it to the bug near the cart.

I was so excited back when I found out Tinykins was being added to Xbox gamepass which was better than me getting to play a short amount of the game having the demo! This game reminds me of "Pikmin 3 Deluxe with a mix of the game "The Wild At Heart" which i bought on switch since they removed it from GP. Now that I see Tinykins is on sale on switch I'm going go pick that one up! 😊

This one’s a different def to secret neighbor, they made a game called splasher which is really good though!

This is a game that I'd love to see get a physical release.
I've commented the same. As long as it's not a FOMO one though. A standard easily obtainable one would do well on the Switch
I played through the game on Xbox Series via GamePass so I didn't have any frame rate issues. I spent about 12 hours beating the game and doing some of the side quests. I'm guessing I could put another 5 or so hours into it. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and glad it was on GamePass because it's a game I probably would have missed otherwise. My kids like to play on the go and will be picking it up on Switch. I think $25 is more than fair for a fun, well made game where you'll spend a good bit of time just exploring with a smile on your face.
Was wondering why this felt so famiar and fun. Splasher is still on my Switch, as it's utter awesome. The Switch framerate is awful, but if I buy it it'll be on Switch
The Series X demo runs beautifully.
I’ll have to check it out there as well - sometimes I avoid my PS5 and X cause it impacts my opinion a little too much
I'll wait for the full review before I decide, but wow I love the looks of this one. The environments are so cool
Sad that it seems to have sold terribly relative to its quality.
Would be interested providing it got a physical standard edition release ( no Limited Scum Games FOMO nonsense ). Could see this selling well on Switch with families in particular

I had a blast with the demo and collected everything 100%. Pre-ordered just as soon as I finished the demo.
Only issue is the game looks fantastic docked but seriously blurry in handheld mode. I hope they fix that.
UPDATE: The full game is not blurry in handheld mode. They fixed it.
Did you manage to get 2 air bubbles and the screwdriver? Having trouble 100% but I feel like I've explored everything!
@@soserge2317 Yes, I got every piece of nectar, which is way more than needed for two air bubbles. I honestly don't remember whether I got a screwdriver or not 🤷♂️
@@flickering_wick thanks, I managed to 100% the demo today, thought I'd covered every inch but found a new bit eventually! Just preordered it, shame I have to work tomorrow!!
Does the full game consider your demo progress, or did you have to restart the whole thing from the beginning? I've read somewhere the demo save compatibility with the full game only works on Steam... Is that true?
@luisdireito On Switch I did have to start over again once I got the full game. It was enjoyable though, so I didn't mind. Also, they did fix the blurriness the demo had in handheld mode.

I hope they can fix the controls or we can map the button because holding Y to slide around on the board and A to jump is a terrible terrible experience. Also they would need to fix the double jump mechanic, it's just not a good time. I feel the game could have huge potential but gameplay won't cut it to make it an outstanding game. An upcoming 7 or 8 no more.
Using 2D characters in a 3D world like Demon Turf!!! Why??? When will these Platformers learn! This game almost looks instersting!!!
😳This is a decent demo to 100% complete. Not recommended for people with OCD. I got sooooooo close. I found all items, solved the puzzles and completed the demo with 1577 of the 1591 gold nugget things. After spending time driving myself crazy looking at each nook and cranny, just couldn’t find it those last nuggets. Would not buy this game unless it has a deep discount. Was bothered by the camera issues at times but it was a fun demo. Also he said you find the record, it’s actually a CD and CD player you deal with. 💿
The demo was fun. Definitely copping this when it drops.
The jumping is a bit too quick, you jump like a flea, it's hard to gauge when to hit the button to float. I don't like that it's on the freaking A button. Have developers ever played a platform game before? B/THE BOTTOM FACE BUTTON SHOULD ALWAYS BE JUMP.
They need to switch the jump button immediately or give the option to change it. It's 2022. Not 1987. Button mapping is simple. Start including it in your fucking games.
The switch desperately needs a power upgrade.
Two ways of looking at it. One is more power would come in handy. The other is if Nintendo can make first party games like Odyssey and Dread that run well, other developers can do the same with a bit of extra effort. I read an article not long ago from a developer saying how people have got used to brute forcing everything rather than better coding
Surely that's the challenge of programming!?
The Atari VCS was notoriously hard to programme, but there are some first-class games that would definitely still stand up now.
The commodore 64 programmers probably had to programme their own routines to make games, and the musicians had to probably write their own sequencers.
The arcade games and the home machines only had up to 48k of memory to use,
Did that stop them?
Of course, it didn't!!
Did they complain??
No!
They all paved the way to what we have now.
Power upgrade!?
Zelda TOTK is more stunning than some other open world games I've played on other machines!!
