Classic HOI4 progression in action, next step could be "Fight god" and it wouldn't be too far out of character for this game.
next step, 10th Crusade Malta
10 hours into hoi4: wow this is a cool, in depth simulation
1000 hours: this game is solid but has some gamebreaking cheese
10,000 hours: hey guys check out my Rhode Island world conquest
@@joec754 rhode island world conquest starting as puppet of italy + using 1 finger only + blindfolded (easy)
Reminds me of a relevant quote by Stalin: “The Pope? How many divisions has he?”
Vatican City world conquest.
Fun fact is that as fascist Italy you can form the Roman empire and since italy is so primitive you can get a democratic reformer flip to democracy before hand conquer Germany and also form the EU
Yep i did that and now like all of Europe and stuff is my core
Yeah
Hitler would be the laughing stock instead
This is awesome! While I like playing Italy for the SPQR formable nation I really hope the next HOI4 DLC will be an Alpine DLC focusing on air mechanics and adding or expanding the focus trees for the Alpine countries of Switzerland, Austria and Italy. That would definitely be a welcome change
Me too, Italy needs desperate rework. Don't forget Albania.
Peace conference rework, air rework if needed, Swiss, Austria, Italy, Albania, Ethiopia rework.
@@azownedd they have
the next dlc will have a focus tree for italy. its been confirmed.
I don't think the air system needs a rework honestly. A rebalance for sure, but its nice the way it is. And Paradox really is either doing a Italy rework or is smoking some serious shit since they hav already reworked the USSR
@@DonutOfNinja source: i made it up
I really love, how bi3terrsteel updates his opd guides for nsb
Yeah the update rly changed the game makes some of his old guides a little hard to follow
The ad is really well implemented, Roman art is truly marvelous
And postmodern art mostly replaces talent with pretentiousness
Sculpting a veil, or human expressions, with STONE is insanely talented. You really feel like the statues are real people
Nowadays if you would get a sculpture it'll be all distorted and covered in shit or something as some grand societal statement noone really understands 😂🤦🏻♂️
@@Tom-oj7si there's some postmodern art tho that when seen in person affects you totally differently and succeeds because of the emotions it illicits when you see it.
@@andym2345 most of it is just shit smeared on a wall though.
@@Tom-oj7si also, those statues were painted, which is pretty cool
Obviously we don’t know exactly how the paint looked but we have some ideas
OH also they had fuckin clothes, atleast the naked ones did, the built in clothes just get painted
At 15 minutes you comment the French supply situation. When you play France, you'll notice quickly that Savoy is a red supply zone; I always build a new hub there.
Just make the sea zone and avoided area so that they don't send supply by sea only the very northern tile will be red that way which it is not worth building a supply hub their since you can easily capture France's
God I can’t wait for Italy rework, even Lituania has a better focus tree than us
It better be the best tree ever
Hey now, the trains already run on time. 😂 Nah, every major needs a rework every once in a while. Italy would be a nice one to see!
Your name is cool as hell
Everything is better than the tree we have since fucking lunch
Thanks man, yours is not bad as well
I wish you would show us the new manpower level after 1 day, it's what I live for with these giant formable nations.
Its over 22 mil at service by requirement and 16 mil for extensive conscription
@@alexanderschweinehunde167 that math doesnt make sense...
@@cactusfishy1596 how so?
@@alexanderschweinehunde167 service by requirement gives EXACTLY twice as much man power if I’m correct
@@cactusfishy1596 I’m recalling this from a game I did around half a year ago. I might not have had all the men mobilized at the time so my numbers could be off I do know my army was around 5.5 million deployed in December of 45 and had around 15 mil left over on extensive conscription. I took a photo cuz of how busted it was
Very smooth plug at the beginning sir, i didnt see it coming at first. I applaud you.
Thank you kindly!
I too tried to do Super Italy. Unfortunately I made one mistake: turning off Historical A.I.. Four days after declaring war on Yugoslavia they put Tito in charge and joined the Commintern. Meaning: France, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, Romania, and the U.S.S.R. were now all in the same faction. Luckily I took mainland France out before the Soviets could reinforce it but the Red Army smashed into my eastern flank very effectively and pushed my back to Venice. Luckily Germany demanding the Sudetenland pulled some troops off the front line allowing me to push them back into Yugoslavia. Of course all of this was for not as Republican Spain won the Spanish Civil War and turned into a Soviet Puppet; joined the war and flooded into occupied France bringing them back and I just quit at that point. No, I can't send this in as a Disaster Save as it was from before No Step Back DLC came out so it's now a broken save file.
I am convinced Bitter's videos are just his way of bragging about how good his pronunciation of other languages is
I like doing it in the fastest way, I mean, the cheesiest way:
1) Research paratroopers
2) Bypass "Triumph in Africa"
3) Claims on Yugoslavia
4) Join the Axis
5) Paradrop in France while suicide paradrops in Romania, Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia
6) Declare war against the Benelux
7) Naval invasion in the UK, encircle London and keep killing their troops
7.1) Abuse the 15-day justification time and declare war on Austria, Greece, Turkey, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Iraq, etc
8) after getting one tile of enemy territory or getting one troop killed, capitulate the UK
That segue into the sponsor was smooth af
i love how he made it "competent" and not perfect, just leaving some room for small mistakes :P
I would really love to see an historical Japan run
It’s easy…
I finished watching the old video, went to my laptop 5 minutes later and then I see "1 hour ago, new version of the video you just watched"
Some impeccable timing, I was just starting my attempts on Roman Empire yesterday.
Italy gets too much criticism tbh.
As a scholar of that period (PhD) I think hoi4 tubers who make fun of them tends to lack a geopolitical understanding of that area at that time
Also the run-up to that period which is just as important, from France's input to WWI to Garibaldi and freshly created/unified identity as Italy
well, it's a meme at this point. The Italian AI also doesn't do much to dispel the myth
yeah it's anoying like Italy did things in the wrong way and tried to face up against organized people, every thing they wanted to conquer, had mountains or was a desert so it's extreamly costly to conquer that, having a weak economy, managing to defend the enormous coastline of their country, it's clear that they weren't ready to fight against the world.
True. They knew they weren’t going to be ready for a major war before 1943. A lot of the time, they just did stupid things, though.
It's a really overdone joke, just like the French surrender. But it's a tall order to expect people who spend their time learning of the past to come up with new jokes.
After 200 hours of still playing Italy since I purchased the game seeing you breakthrough Nice that easily while I'm still struggling at the Alps kinda piss me off.
I've done it yesterday! So many hours to find the solution alone. Thank you Bittersteel.
In Italy's defense, they knew they couldn't go to war until '43, but Germany was insistent on starting the war several years before its ally was ready and still demanding well over a million Italian guns. If the Axis wasn't getting 25% of all its guns from Italy and instead gave Italy the needed resources to build up, they could have been less laughable
i always ask myself "what if italy waas prepared for WW2"
@@sablin819 It likely wouldn't have majorly changed the course of the war. Poland might have put up a stiffer response and France would be bulldozed even faster, the USSR wouldhave completed the 5 year plan, likely at tremendous cost, and would likely lose just as many during the beginning stages of Barb. Italy would have a better trained and equipped army, but its generals would likely be just as ineffectual.
@@somewhereelse1235 soo it would basically be just a little stronger not much would change right?
@@sablin819 Pretty much. Italian doctrine was really bad and isn't likely to have changed in the years after Ethiopia
@@sablin819 Nothing would have changed, Germany lost the moment the USA started land -leasing the USSR.
Your ad transitions are absolutely top tier mate
Interesting change in strategy. I used your old guide method and it was still completely successful.
yoooo ive wanted a new guide for this! thanks
Thank you for this video. I have had this game for over four years and yet to win with any country. Your guide has given me some new ideas to try! Lets hope I can try and win at least one game!
老天,你真是災難
I can just imagine spike in manpower and industry after this!
Nice video btw
Love your Videos!
Seems so easy :D
I have learned a lot from watching your videos bro. Thank you! Please do the Philippines next time.
Really enjoy the editing
been in Rome too! absolutely lovely! going to Florence this August
I do love watching a good Roman Empire run, but I've yet to see anyone do it with the historical AI focus off.
I've done it. It Is basically the same because you need to do it quickly, so not much things changes in the global pollitical alliances. Unless you get really unlucky.
@@fele09 Yeah, I'm finally having some success even with the Historical AI off by following the advice in this video and being aggressive as quickly as possible. Makes me wonder how different the path is going to be in By Blood Alone with all the early game nerfs Italy's getting.
@@YoungNapoleon that exactly why I started trying to form the Roman empire, first on historial then non historical. I'm afraid it wouldnt ve that Easy. Check out the guide Made by efficientstrategygames, it Is almost the same, it may be helpful
You could have left Czechoslovakia entirely alone so it would be the leader of the allies instead of Canada. That way you don't need to walk all the way to Vancouver.
YO I WAS JUST ABOUT TO WATCHA TUTORIAL FOR THIS
W VIDEO
love ur vids man
Hugely entertaining! Many thanks.
Also liked "moron in a hat". Reminded me of "moron with [color of your choice] hair" (no particular nation).
God damn that masterworks ad was so clean I didn’t even realize I was watching an ad
No school + fresh BitterSteel video, amazing day
You know, considering the title and introduction mention "bumbling buffoon" I keep getting an amused chuckle every time BitterSteel says he made a dumb mistake.
Love ya BitterSteel, just amusing.
"Oops" - Bitt3rsteel, 2022
your Italian is perfect!!👌👌
Ayy 1 minute ago, love your vids ♥
smooth ad transition
Man you read "squadra navale" perfectly pretty nice ^^
The transition to the sponsor was SMOOTH!
23:52 don't take anything from Czechs, just take everything else and leave them alone, hit done. Now they will automatically become the leader of the Allies, and not Canada, because the game considers them to be stronger than Canada. Then you can keep doing major/minor shenanigans in the peace deals without having to cap Canada somehow
thanks for the video :D I do hope that they will give Belgium some love tho
If you are going straight into building mils you should set your starting mils on equipment that is already in production since it will start at maximum efficiency. Then set the new equipment (trains, etc) for the new incoming mils to grow into and start their efficiency. This way you'll end up with more guns, support equip, etc.
It takes over two months to build the first mil. Probably fine for the trains, but if you didn't put anything on artillery you would lose out on 2 months of artillery production and efficiency growth (12% efficiency roughly) which could really delay adding artillery support in.
who agrees bittersteel is hacking in real life so he can bypass ironman restrictions, please say E
I was born in the Ironman, molded by it! I did not see the console until I was already a man!
@@Bitt3rSteel well i am the opposite lmao i was born with console commands and didnt see ironman until i was 69 years old
It was not really Mussolini being incompetent, but more like the Entire Italian Army not being prepared for war and using either WW1 weapons or overly fragile/unreliable weapons. I’m looking at you Breda mod. 30.
Omg its amazing road to 100K soon
Hi BitterSteel. I hope you're doing well. I was wondering if it was possible for you to make a video for Australia (the third emu war, Never Another Gallipoli and Australia-Hungary) or Canada (doing 1812 and Rule Britannica)
You are awesome when you read italian names
Lacoon, 3 guys attacking by a snake ahahaha. Wonderful!
Everyone is cheering for the Italy rework, forgetting Paradox *loves* to cripple any nation they rework.
If it was possible to get a Roman Empire before, it won't be after.
After the Soviet rework im not so sure that tree rocks
Of course Italy will be weaker after Italy rework! Italy is OP now, so there has to be some nerfing done!
;)
The point of Italy rework is not to make Italy better. It is to give more options to spent political power to overcome all the trouble there is to hit the fan after update!
He always walks “accidentaly” into Paris and London
can you do the achievement we don't really like statistics? Love your vids
I will never be the kind of person who can min max HOI4 like this. But it's fun to watch!
yo how did you break so quickly around nice i did everything you did and struggled
I have a question: how can you restore these empire's because I don't know!
You are my favorite creater when it's coming to Hoi4 and I love your videos.
Keep doing it then you can make for very much peoples a smile on his face! 😄
And thanks for the answers
Benito just needed a mustache in order to be competent
yeah record is late 1936 quite insane.
and you should have let the manpower update , it's always nice to see millions in the bank
2:45 for the love of god and everything that is holy, hold shift and click artilery icon to pop production tab at the top instead of moving them every single time
9:14 Why didn't he just set a line through the Field Marshal in this case? Without holding shift, the line separates armies.
3:46 that “squadra navale” was too Italian ahahaha
‘Dammit I accidentally took Paris’
I really would like to see you play a "Real let's play" of this game ^^
"i came to rome when it was a city of stone, i left it as a city of marble" Bittersteel, the 8th king of Rome - 7th may 2022
hi can you show us your final infantry template you use in this run? thanks great video
hey bittersteel, have you seen the rome speed runs? forming rome buy october 1936, would love to see your take on that
Thanks from Italy
The issue with going superior firepower as italy is your army theorists only give -15% to grand battleplan or mobile, if you go superior firepower you're paying 100 for each doctrine instead of 85
I think HoI4 devs should leave Italy focus tree untouched for the meme
Oh it's the bald man, now with a leaf crow on it's head.
My last Roman Empire game pre-Bosporus (not doing it again since then) ends up with British Malaya, India, and Indonesia independent (so that Japan can take it later), Africa being puppeted whole except Liberia, America under Roman heel,
And also Japan, Roman Empire, and Germany are on their own factions, ready to divide the rest of the world for themselves.
Once again, good game, Bitt3rSteel!
that sponsor segue was executed flawlessly
I must Say that your italian pronunciation Is actually not bad good job man
challenge: play as a released malta and take on the axis
Nice 👍
Yes finally
3 minutes ago. Do estonia unaligned next. Thats a challenge for you.
i doubt anyone is having problems recreating this because it is a really sound strategy. but just in case i found you can set up 1 full army of 24 (9/1)on the French boarder and have the rest in reserve right behind the line. leave about 6 divisions in africa for encirclements only, 1 troop per tile on the bottom 2 and four on the top. encircle the African troops then retreat back to the lybian border and repeat. you do that to thin out the French lines on the main land. France will be bashing its head against your alpine lines going nowhere. just sit and wait, your troops and cas will demolish the french troops. the moment the french stop attacking the alpes you rush all your troops to the boarder and punch through the south like bitt3rsteel did.( you don't need to punch through the south because france will be so low on equipment but that's what i did) 'Roma Invicta'
3:44 funny how this guy randomly pulled a perfect italian pronounciation for "squadra navale"
Hey BitterSteel,
Would it be advantageous to use the fourth slot to rush one of the other three techs here?
Also, mountain units can blow through the North part of the Alps. Take the base template, add four battalions of artillery (24w works in 25w mountain facing) and replace the arty company with armoured recon à la -> czcams.com/video/Rq38dBOrvGM/video.html
Funny enough that’s actually the real expansion of the Roman Empire back in the antique pretty much
I love the video, you always make the best guide. Also, why didn't paradox include Germany to form the roman empire? The border was on the rhine and the danube
Paradox won't change italy's focus tree because why mess with perfection?
You should employ speedrun tactics and do a full world conquest by end of 37.
I liked the video, but i miss more "Spaniard kind" video-tutorials, if you know what i mean ;) I love you so much.
This is funny I have been for the last week been trying to do a Reform Rome and make the EU as Italy run it wasn't going well
Mussolini plan in 1936 to git gud, talking to he's generals: First we grind up Sebastiano Viscondi Prasca and we scrap two battleships...
又是一次早期戰爭,然後有著幾乎不可能的進攻,然後贏了所有戰鬥
就靠著簡單的10% 提升
A competent Italy? Bitter, blink twice if you're being held hostage somewhere
Idea: The Roman Colonial Empire: The Roman Empire, but all of the territories that France, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, The UK, Greece, and Spain are added into the mix.
I wish you had made this video earlier. I was scratching my head around after the NSB DLC and trying to find newer ways to form Rome... well, it seems like a game of supply has made this objective easier than before. Voila, pushing with AI orders it is!
Could have used shore bombardment as well just to make it easier.
Question, when I release Eritrea and Somali they become completely different nations and causes my units to be exiled, how do I release them as puppets, do I need a dlc or what? Also I know I'm late, seeing as Italy is about to get an update, however I only, somewhat recently, gotten the game and enjoying it, and as such have little clue about this game, it's dlcs, and it's mechanics. As far as I can tell, Italy is one of the easiest nations to play as, please correct me if I'm wrong so I can find a guide for the correct nation and play as them, and decided to watch your guide on Italy.
I did that, and ngl I had a blast forming Rome
"Don't capitualate france" *caps france* "Don't capitualate the uk" *caps the uk*
me, wondering when bittersteel is gonna post:
Benny just needs the new hat to cover the baldness.
Good video as always, but you forgot to form the european union as italy
if you wanna see peak Italian competence, then watch this video
