- An insulated loft that doesn’t compromise on storage space? Here’s how to board a loft with stilts. Using stilts raises the level that you lay the boards - that’s enough room below for insulation and space above for all those suitcases and decorations. The new handiest space in the house!

thanks for the video, you made it to look very easy and so simple, will be doing my loft soon
Good video. How tick are both layers of insulation?
Helpful video. Would you say standing on joists is fine or would you recommend leaning on boards ?
Standing on joists is fine
Hi there, this would be fine. However, we would recommend using something to kneel on as it will be more comfortable and stable 😊
Nice vid
Thank you 😊
Which screw are you used in this video? The link to the items doesn't detail it. Thank you!
Hi there! The length of screw required would vary depending on the thickness of the boards you're using.
@@bandq Hey, thank you for the quick reply! Do you have a guide of which it would be for what thickness please?
Also which screws were used to connect the loft boards to the stilts please.
Thank you!
@@zishaanmalik1694 The recommended board thickness for lofts is 18mm. The size of screws to use is 5x30mm.
I hope this helps.

Do I need the joists or is it ok without them
Hi, there. We secure the stilts to the joists within the video so it is something we recommend doing. Hope this helps. 😊
