- Puerto Banús is located to the west of Marbella, before reaching the small town of San Pedro de Alcantara. A relatively new town on the scene, it was actually developed in the seventies in a beautiful setting within the town of Marbella, by the local developer Jose Banús. The area affords a beautiful setting, with an impressive mountain backdrop and ocean views.
The town has fast become a mix of jet set playground, a place where young and old go to party all night long. Here one can spend time sipping a cocktail in the port watching the super rich on their luxury yachts and the Ferraris and Lamborghinis drive by.
The shops in Puerto Banús marina are front line and second line, next to the luxury yachts in the marina you'll find the luxury designer shops with names such as: Louis Vuitton, D&G, Emporio Armani, Gucci, Michael Kors, Missoni, Dior, Bang & Olufsen and Versace amongst many others. Basically, think of a designer name and they will have a store here! There is also a Superdry, Kiko Cosmetics, Sunglasses Hut and a Havaianas store, as well as several tourist shops.
Marbella is one of the most famous places in Europe for its glamorous nightlife scene, however, many of the most exclusive venues can be found in Puerto Banús. Although Puerto Banús is in no way tranquil by day, it definitely comes alive at night, especially during the summer months, with both a local and tourist crowd. The club-going crowd here tends to dress up in their most glamorous outfits and highest heels. The majority of the bars are located along Calle Ribera and along the second line, open until late at night.

One of the wealthiest, and most eye-pleasing areas of Spain. Ibiza is where tourists go. Marbella is where people who want and can afford the nicest things in life go to enjoy all that Spain has to offer---beaches, shopping, restaurants, etc.

Above all, a place of extreme degeneration. The women dress like the last bitches and hookers, something like that could only be seen in porn back then. Everyone in Marbella is constantly staring at their new deity: the smartphone. Some don't even look at their surroundings anymore. Godforsaken psychos. Living in a kind of matrix, in an illusion, People like Charles Manson look like normal humans compared to the People from Marbella.

This place holds such nostalgic memories for me and just goes from strength to strength as the years roll by. The feel of class and a safe decent civilisation just oozes from the strip as you walk along looking at the yachts admiring them/women. Scary to think my first visit was 43yrs ago 😳!!

What are the main differences between now and then?
The biggest difference for me was , walking along the strip sober and adult like with my wife, instead of being a cocky young man making an ass of himself trying to chat up women out of his league😇.. Totally cleaner, more vibrant and the dingy back streets where we would buy our Skunk have all been refurbed and no empty shops. So busy though. Such a massive change is the volume of people. And our old bar " Sinatra's " , where they would cook us a full English breakfast and take pity on the state of us each morning , is still there but original comfy open plan layout has gone. Cheap flights & cheap rentals, made this such a great place to visit, but like all things in our younger days it just becomes fond distant memories. It was 5 Boys from Hackney enjoying the good life for a few years. That man made rocky pier/harbour, once had us battle what seemed like a whole village of irate Spaniards who had us cornered there as we were sunbathing. One of the best fights in my life, and in truth one of the most dangerous. We had not stolen a scooter and it was a case of mistaken identity, but until that was established it was a free for all. lol Good times.
just over 30 yrs for me, ....it very nice then , looks like more restaurants have arrived for more money and greed. It's not like BACK WHEN I WENT ...NOT SO commercial, Sean Connery was alive and has a place there, Shirley bassey too

Das Gebäude rechts hinter dem La Martina-Shop sieht schön aus! Nur 2-geschossig und auch sehr schön gebaut! Ich persönlich würde mich in keins der Restaurants setzen, dort ist mir viel zuviel Lauf! Das ist ja so, als sähe man einer Ameisenherde oder einem Viehtrieb zu! Da gibt es viel schönere Orte und auch viel schönere Plätze/Restaurants/Bars in Spanien! Die Costa del Sol ist insgesamt sehr mit Bettenburgen zugebaut und hat einfach nichts schickes & intimes mehr! Andalusien an sich ist wieder ein anderes Thema (ich liebe Südspanien)!

@@error404blahPues si, pero no los ha mostrado. En agosto estuvo atracado el gran barco del heredero de la Casa Real Saudí que tienen un enorme palacio en Marbella. Puerto Banus es el puerto deportivo de Marbella pero también una zona de compras de lujo de España, y lugar de veraneo y reunión de grandes fortunas que por supuesto no los ves paseando por la calle: de villa en villa, al barco, al golf, etc etc.
