I attended Trent University and searched for and watched this movie solely for that fact. Fun fact: when Amy first meets Reese and says she’s “heading to the library” they’re in front of the actual library and drive away from it
Same! It's so weird seeing Bata podium like that with the different name above it too.
@@IncoherentSchizo it’s been a while since I’ve watched it - I didn’t even remember that!
It’s fun. I know they use Peterborough a fair bit but It always throws me off when see a place I recognize
That is awesome!! And hilarious!!
@@EGhasnolife Same! Peterborough used to be such a nice place
There’s actually a reason for the disjointed kill scene where Lisa loses her kidney. The “higher-ups” felt like the movie didn’t have enough kills, so they demanded that scene get added. It was after production had wrapped, so that’s why none of the other characters ever reference her.
makes more sense !! thanks for sharing
Her kill is the one I vividly recall whenever someone mentions the urban legend
So they had that surviving character try to drug a woman for filler?
@@bekindrewind335 that makes sense why it’s the best scene in the film
I only watch this cause of the dead meat comments now let's get to the kills!
I feel like urban legend would be great for a remake. It has a unique concept as a slasher film considering there could be hundreds of urban legends that could be used in today’s age.
There is actually one in production
Remake? Or Requel? 🤔
tbh i just want an urban legend remake or sequel just so we can have a polybus themed kill!
jeff the killer slasher film
im not up to date on urban legends, do ANY of the kills in this one count as urban legends at all? Or did they forget what their movie was named after?
It always warms my heart when James acknowledges the animal actors. A lesser person wouldn't mention the little ratty boys or worse, would have called them gross or worse. And that's why James is one of the coolest. He called them good boys too. And that's why James is the best.
Agreed. There's a big number of things that make James as awesome as he is, and that's high-up on the list.
Still great to hear James voice again.
Fr
Why does hearing his voice give me a sense of nostalgia
@@existingisoverratedyou value him and his content
True
Fr his voice sound so smooth
It's theorized that Reese saying Brenda killed eight students means she won in the end and managed to kill Natalie and Paul.
Sounds plausible, but eugh, unconfirmed off-screen deaths of major characters. Awful writing
Also, the writer of the first movie confirmed in the audio commentary that a lot of things we saw throughout the film was incorrect and didn’t really happen.
That’s why the ending had Brenda saying “You didn’t tell the legend right, not at all…”
I’ve always thought this meant that Brenda never actually killed any faculty members and it was all students, including Natalie and Paul.
@@unknown_limesI don’t remember asking
Don't remember anyone bringing you up, Hexmommymilkers2854
@@Rizzward You did. 🤍🥰
I love that James makes a reference to Jennifer's lead role on Once Upon A Time when he calls her "Emma Swan." That is one of my favorite TV shows and also the best thing I have ever seen the actress in.
Same. I was kind of up set that when he talked about other things she has been in he only mentioned house but him calling her Emma Swan mad up for it.
same omg i was waiting for him to call her that
This feels like a classic episode in the making. A lesser known movie treated with fairness and genuine enthusiasm, and informative about how it was made. This is why I keep coming back to Dead Meat
I love how memey these recent videos have been. That super loud, zoomed-in “T R E V O R S T A R K” made me laugh so much.
Cringe and unfunny.
Same I also want more fake ads

BTW, did anyone else catch the Elm Street 3 reference?
James actually didn't seem to, being confused by the Professor announcing Travis's "suicide" by saying something like "he let himself down, and he let all of you down," which is what the psychiatrist in Nightmare on Elm Street 3 said when one of the characters was killed by Freddy in a way that looked like suicide.
Nice catch. He also didn’t mention the obvious Friday the 13 and my bloody valentine sets. I’m sure I’m missing a few but those 2 stuck out to me
Reese's victim count was actually correct. I don't remenber exactly where it's said, but Brenda actually succeeded in killing the remaining two students in the previous film sometime after it ended
Oh wow. 😮
Why kill off Natalie and Paul after the movie? That ruins the original's ending
I think it might be 7? I’m not sure if anyone mentioned Tara Reid’s sound guy. I guess I’m assuming he’s a student.
@@jordynrohaly5262 Maybe the girl at the start of the first movie was the 8th victim Reese was referring to? That would be 8, right?
@@richardcrew417 The girl at the start was counted. If by students at the University, then Reese and James are both wrong. The deaths are based on the kill count were 10:
5 Pendleton students: Michelle, Damon, Tosh, Parker, Sasha
3 Faculty: Dean, Wexler, Janitor
2 non Pendleton: Young driver (Brenda's boyfriend, not yet in college), Sasha's Assistant (no known connection as a student)
@4:45 In this clip when James mentions 6 students murdered with a collage, Sasha is shown twice, middle and lower right.
No joke, I kind of want to see James' senior year movie. I can only imagine that a short called "Mother Lover" will be great no matter how bad it is 😂
Same
I require it
I’m glad Zoran got more time to do some kill counts. I’m also so happy to see James back happy and healthy! We are super lucky to have so many great people at dead meat!

As James said, the kills in this were pretty good, and the cast was great, but the writing and directing is very subpar. It just doesn't have that same professional feel and passion put into it as the original.
Same
Meh, the first one is average
The first one was nothing special to begin with. In fact, I don't like it that much

Fun fact: The opening sequence in the film was originally supposed to take place on a boat. During a location scout, they found the airplane set, and decided to revise the script. As it turns out, the original boat sequence was originally inspired by the airplane sequence in Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983).
The most horrifying thing about this kill count was the "Heartbreak feels good in a place like this."
Seriously, that's the most terrifying thing that goes on in movie theaters nowadays. Her cold, dead stare will haunt my dreams for eternity.
I find it funny that he would reference the AMC theater stinger they play before the actual movie starts.😅
@@brandonruiz7588 AKA the most horrifying thing to be shown on a movie screen...
Where I live, the cinema started using that same promo video but they replace everything with their own UCI logo and colours. Really weird
I always felt the opening scene of the kidney theft really disturbing as a kid.
That is sort of the point of urban legends lol
Me too, it's the death scene that stuck with me the most in this saga
Didn't look like an actual human kidney
@@marklynn5899eah I’m sure he gave a shit as a child who knows nothing about what a kidney looks like🤣 you personify wElL AcTuAlLy, such a clown lol

Hearing James’ voice being back to the normalized happy tone of voice is just great.
what was wrong with his voice before?
I’ve lived in Peterborough, Ontario my whole life and I now work at Trent university where this was filmed. I can’t believe I never knew this film was shot there. One of the many reasons why I love Dead Meat, always learning new stuff.

Glad James brought up that classic slasher *_Valentine_* she bite of chocolates with squirming maggots and archery with her death in a dumpster
Ok but Tim and Joshua REALLY put their all into those screams... Something tells me they've done this before
They probably do that whenever James is covering a bad movie or a movie with a lot of deaths
"cool guy skull cap walk away" and "not making any horse sense" James had me dying at the one liners and other film references jokes he did 😂
Giggled when he did the AMC intro line: Heartbreaker feels good in a place like this
I love the wordplay of "Maybe that's why Final Cut feels like a first draft."
If we don't get a director cut of James's Mother Lover I'm gonna lose it LOL Great kill count as always and good to have the main host again.
I always look forward to Friday mornings so I can put the Kill Count on while I begin my work day. Welcome back James!
That was so trippy to hear you mention my hometown of Peterborough! I was only a kid when this movie was shot but Trent has some absolutely gorgeous architecture and nature trails. It also features many urban legends itself, including the tale of soldiers leaving behind the bullets that killed them to remind their loved ones of their presence (in reality the bullets occasionally found around campus are blanks misplaced by forensic students)
So many Ptbo people in the comment section 🥰
There's also the Sasquatch Society in the Drumlin forest that meets up occasionally!
Distorted loud *Trevor Stark* was hilarious
Kudos to whoever made that happen
This channel is one of the most underrated channels on CZcams despite the constant annoyance from CZcams algorithm nonsense. It’s shown movies from (mainly for me and everyone here watching this) the 70’s to early/mid 2000’s that I never even heard or knew about. Thanks James and Dead Meat crew ❤❤❤❤
Between this and "Ending Explained," I've started to anticipate new horror films/tv shows just because I know they'll inspire new uploads for these channels. :D
Never watched House so I recognize Jennifer Morrison from Once Upon a Time. Kudos for turning Emma Swan into a Billy Madison reference lol 😅
@@Maze383 Agreed!
I was just about to comment this. Never thought we'd see a OUAT star on the channel. Granted, James did have plans to cover 28 Weeks Later after he covered 28 Days Later, and that movie has Robert Carlyle, but we never got that kill count. One day...
Travis Stark.

It’s so crazy seeing how big you guys have got over the past two years. This video was uploaded ELEVEN MINUTES ago and it already has like, hundreds of comments. I remember the old days in 2018, where there was a hundred comments on a video total usually. The time span you guys got big is really impressive.
Talent and hard work! They deserve every bit.
@@mom.left.me.at.michaels9951 agreed completely!
Grinding!
James knowing about “the cookout” shows that so many people have been invited it’s not even a cookout anymore 😂
It’s also a reference to their most recent podcast episode I think! Totally recommend it if you haven’t listened to it yet!
6:34 loved that Once Upon a Time reference.
I think this is my favourite ‘let’s get to the numbers’ yet 🤣🤣
18:11 Okay, Tim understood the assignment! Best scream by miles!
It sounded like he had pent-up emotions 😂
Love that when James made a comment on Ottoman's oscar controversy he showed the scene that has become infamous in Bohemian Rhapsody for its shlocky editing
Plus, Hart Bochner has been on the KC multiple times: 1980's "Terror Train" as Doc Manley and an uncredited role as Mr. Hargensen in the 2013 remake of "Carrie".
Who would love for James to do a top 10 or 20 list of worst horror movies he's ever done on the channel?
Zoran and Chelsea don’t at all do a bad job with the Kill Count. But the feeling that waves over me when James speaks gives me euphoria for x amount of minutes
What a great way to give your staff some screen time and give them a shout out! working for James must be great
"This is my baby....Baby!"
"See you on set.....(Set!?)"
18:01 - Why am I not surprised that it's Zoran getting killed here? XDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXD
By Chelsea?
Wait a damn minute, what's Emma Swan doing in a horror movie?
Yes, I forgot she was in this.
Ah yes emma swan
“Jogging into ghoooooosts” that made me actually laugh out loud.
The real unifying theme in the Urban Legends movies is that the killer wears costumes absolutely nobody will recognize at any Halloween part.

'that woman's acting would be wretched in a porno film! ' LMAO
😂😂 yep!
I like the giallo influence in this movie, wasn't expecting it when I first watched but it was a nice surprise.
Lol the ending with everyone screaming while Zoran gets stabbed is just funny as hell, I get why they did it and I love it
I really wish Anthony Anderson would survive a movie
I can’t imagine anyone else doing these kill counts, absolutely iconic!.
Sometimes, other people have to, though.
Hart Bochner also got killed in the OG Terror Train - also, the killer is 80s slasher film “Graduation Day” also wore a fencing mask
Fun fact - Jennifer Morrison is a director now! She does tv though instead of feature films. Talk about life imitating art!!
A new video from James can't come soon enough
I'm surprisingly James failed to mention Yani Gellman's co-starring role in the classic Canadian Sci-Fi horror action show Monster Warriors, which also includes Jared Keeso, co-creator and star of Letterkenny, and Laura Ammersly, who was in Dawn of the Dead.
That series also had Adam Growe who played Superintendent McClellan, and Growe is the host of Cash Cab.
Seán Cullen as Klaus Von Steinhauer was also incredible and I wish James brought up that series during the Kill Count, though at least he mentioned Yani Gellman.
Felissa Rose gave James a shout out today during a Q&A at Albuquerques first horror convention
Finally its out ive been waiting for him to cover this forever🎉😆
james is the best. its a show of his willpower and strength to come back to kill counting this soon, we all love you james
I don't know why, but James saying, "Why are you asking that guy?! He's not even a film student!" cracked me the fuck up.
It's always cool to hear how some people get their careers started in horror movies, before rising to fame in Hollywood.
Yessir it is a good day when James does dead meat
The editing dead meat dose is smooth and easy to watch I always enjoyed the red thingy popping up on there death
Also I’m really happy Lisa got the golden chainsaw the kill was amazingly well made and written!
My teen days watching countless hours of horror gives me wonderful nostalgia for this movie.
I love the travis stark gags so much :D
I swear the editing in these videos can make the most random shit funny to me. I am cackling at travis stark
I don’t know if you know this but James and Dead Meat got me into horror and I have to thank you James. Thank you James for everything!
Its so good to hear your voice again james.Cant wait for u to make a kill count for the five nights at Freddy's movie
The park is actually called Ontario Place and I have fond memories of that log ride before they shut the park down. It also had a pretty wicked indoor/outdoor maze. Miss that place.
I'm praying one day james can do kill counts for the VHS franchise
My work day is always just a little better whenever I see that a new Dead Meat episode just got posted. Just hearing the intro is almost soothing in a way.
@18:13 the killer is obviously Chelsea(it was later revealed to be Lucy, Molly, Phantom & Doctor stacked on top of each other operating a dummy rig).
The deadpan "He let us all down" had me hollering 🤣
I’m so glad James is back and it is crazy how he still had the show going while he was going through a hard time
HUGE props for the Horse Sense joke. One of the great DCOM of my childhood
Zoran getting stabbed at the end was the best part of this episode
The Dead Meat crew just sacrificed their larynxes to make a numbers bit. I love it
