There is a free mod that does the same thing. The red shelf. It’s wonderful.
omsp red shelf by pictureamoebae works as well if you're not a console player
The red shelf is even better, as you can put more objects, bigger ones. You can also select the invisible swatch instead of the red one, so you don't need to deal with changing cabinets that the item would snap on.
You don’t actually need these packs to do it. I do this a lot with my builds and I don’t use mods. Yes it will be a bit glitchy because it likes to move around at first when you try to place it. So you have to be patient with it but you can do it.
I've been using the omsp shelf but this is good for unmodded players‼️

@@tomokokurokiirl the OMSP shelf is One More Slot Please shelf, it should look like a bright red shelf in CAS, and when you're done placing it it has an invisible swatch so the shelf is invisible. It can go nearly anywhere you want!

Ooh brilliant! I use the beloved red shelf CC item, but for people who don’t/can’t use mods, this is absolutely perfect.

@@lillylupton420 there is no set up needed. It’s just a shelf that can be used to bring an item to the height you want. There’s nothing you need to know to use it
The red shelf doesnt really work for me 😂
Since the update the towel shelf thing in basegame works well for this too! (In bathroom clutter section!) 🤗
I wish they had the option to save these in a playlist like regular videos
You should be able to do that if you go into your watch history and save it there😊

You can. Here's how:
You're watching shorts and find something you want to save.
You go back to your youtube page, play a normal CZcams video, any video is good. Then go to history, and play the video you want to save. Then go back to the history page, and now the one video you want is alone, and you can save it.

just use the ctrl+9 key first with your objects and then add in the shelf. the shelf moves freely when you use alt.
For people who don't have the DLC, there is a CC, the OMSP shelf, that does the same. You use it just as the cube then delete it. If you share in gallery, since the shelf is gone, it won't count as a CC content.

@dabordietrying yes! press all four bumpers/triggers to bring up the cheats bar to turn on bb.moveobjects and then when you have an object selected you can press LT/L2 to cycle through grid/half grid/free placement.

to freely move: select the object and press L2 until you get to free placing
to freely rotate: hold L1 and R1 and use right stick to rotate item

I love also using the bigger shelf from Dream Home Decorator as you'd be surprised what will go on that shelf you can then alt place on another object. So handy!

I've been watching all these build shorts and now I'm obsessed with adding clutter everywhere. I spent nearly 5 hours yesterday building a little house just to add stuff and cried because things weren't snapping or moving where I wanted them

If you don’t have these packs and don’t use cc there is also a base game shelf that works for this trick. I forget the name of the item but it’s a double shelf that is meant for a bathroom I believe and the first swatch is white. Most items that snap to the cube shelves also snap to it!
If you don't have the packs, you can also just use a (second) shelf at the same height, and put the clutter items one at a time on there, and moving them to the correct place with alt.

for everyone without any packs or cc, you can do the same thing using the same shelf. line up two shelves.
in other words, do the same thing thats done with this video, but instead of using the square bin thing, just use another shelf.

Whhhhhattt. I just got the decoration pack yesterday and saw a short a few moments ago wondering why she used the cube. This is just blew my mind.
You can also get a flat shelf and size it down with the object you want to place on it and then move the shelf to where you wanted the item to be and in most situations you can’t see the shelf

No lie this is one of the biggest reasons that I bought the "Dream Home Decorator" pack, lol that and the modular sofas. Pretty dumb I'm sure but it's made such a difference for me in my games. And I did wait until it was on sale, so for me it was worth it

Oh this is fantastic. I'll frequently use modded shelving but there are plenty of pretty in game shelving and countertop items that I love to use and this will make it way easier

Theres a cc called ‘red shelf’ I forgot who made it but its an easy download, and it works the same way, if you’re looking to not buy the whole pack for that one shelf. Or, you can still use the raise function but instead of having it ‘float’ just drag the shelf up towards the item.

Or with the cheat on, you can just put it on the surface you want then move it away with alt, move the surface, then move the item where you want it and finely place the surface back!

This is a good way to place clutter. But many shelves work as well. Even end tables and other surfaces that can be alto moved anywhere.
Please let me know which other shelves work! The shelves I use don't allow anything logical to snap to it :( End tables aren't useful here because the surface of a table is locked to a specific height

I put them on small tables, size the table down and then move the tables+objects onto their meant spot with alt and moveobjects on. Obviously this doesn't work everywhere, necause sometimes the mini table will show, but I still am a happy base game player.
