Nairo and Mkleo are probably the most clutch players in ultimate rn thier mental composure are just another level compared to everyone elses.
Nairo is my favorite player, and I think his come backs are nasty. But I think the big difference between the two is that Nairo crumbles after losing his momentum if he has it early. Like if he's up to stocks and gets bodied once, a lot of time he loses the set and it's really tough to watch

G&W up b is undisputedly the best out of shield option in the game.
@The deepest puddle It might be the single best move in the game. Incredibly fast out of shield and just using it raw. GnW is invincible while rising at the start, so it beats out every landing aerial in the game. It combos in to nair/up air, can be used to edgeguard, stage spikes ridiculously well, very hard to edgeguard GnW recovery, the list goes on.
The fact that "run up->shield->up b" is a viable strategy with G&W is so stupid

@@ardian7239 How so? It comes out fast enough to punish any aerial landing on shield in the game. There's no risk unless the bowser braindead mashes it on attacks that were spaced too far or didn't touch his shield to begin with.

I'm fully convinced the RNG of Judgment builds toward more favorable numbers the longer a game goes without the G&W using Judgment at all.

Domo low_lit he would be in the air still if he reflected it, in lag frames as well from doing it. Which would still mean he’s above the game and watch where maister can punish with another upair or catch the landing. So either way it’s better to get out of disadvantage by dodging it.

Janky movement makes his dodges kinda difficult to see, so you don’t recognize it as immediately as you do the other characters. That and the fact that his up B is basically a free button press that does recovery, OOS, pressure you if you’re in air from basically anywhere on the stage... yeah it’s pretty freaking good

G&W's do that as a 9 strat. You can't get two of the same number in a row on Judge, so 'wasting' a number upgrades the 9 probability from 1/9 to 1/8. Just unlucky he rolled a 1

It's moreso that Nairo has been constantly improving lately, and that combined with Leo's main getting hit would at the very least make their sets (MKLeo vs Nairo) much more favorable for Nairo than they are now.

I was waiting for Nairo to counter one of those down airs because he just down aired every single time he was above him. It was so predictable
He tried that at the very beginning of the set and it didnt work out well at all. Maister isn't that easy to beat he can mix up the timing and drift on it.

I've never played against a good yoshi in bracket nor have I watched a tourney set with a top level yoshi. Why do people hate Yoshi so much?
Yoshi hate is more of a meme at this point, but Yoshi has a weird shield, and everything he does combos into his nair which is really good and annoying to deal with.

very good set and bithe players really good. but you have to admit that palutena is a better character overall by a ton
She barely edged him out so I think a ‘ton’ is highly debatable
Huge fan of Maister and I'm bummed he lost this set, and it felt due to a change in his play, not so much Nairo's. Maister started going for these high-commitment options like dash attack and grab, and I feel like that's what lost him the match. Instead of sticking with very safe nair cross ups and other aerials in neutral, which were working, he started going for dash attack, whiff, into dash attack, etc .. And over-using GnW's very slow grab as well. Maybe I'm wrong, but it felt like he started making high commit panic options which Nairo would punish. Would love to hear anyone else's take on it.
Game and watch doesn't have safe cross ups in neutral. He has baits and commitments. Also up b out of shield.

Dthrow is his combo throw(and his kill throw)
Dtilt is a hard move to land and you deserve to kill decently early if you land it
If you get 2 framed by G&W fair that’s insane since it’s a 1 frame explosion on a 35 frame timer and the bomb disappears if it touches a hitbox, absolutely earned that hit. It’s like a 110% kill at ledge too, not really an early kill.
A huge part of his edgeguarding prowess comes from having the parachute, he’d only be decent at edgeguards without it.
Also I don’t recommend using “broken” and “OP”, the words mean nothing because of comments like this.

Maister is gonna watch this back and kick himself for all that up smash spam.
Nah that's normal for him and generally works (somehow, no idea how lol). I think what killed him was switching from the nair crossups and other airiels in neutral, over to these super high commitment, laggy options like grab and dash attack.. Really frustrating to watch him do them over and over in neutral when he didn't need to.
He slowed his game down too much in general as the match wore on with high commitment moves, but yeah I noticed the up smash spam in game 5 as well. Gave Nairo opportunities to regroup. With a character as light as G&W, any smash moves better have potential to kill or you're running a big risk.
