- S10E06 - Hey guys, in this one, we're taking a look at my latest custom, The 13th & 14th Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver from the Liberation of the Daleks Comic! (Blue Setting)

Doctor Who?
Doctor Who is a British science-fiction television programme broadcast by the BBC since 1963. The programme depicts the adventures of a Time Lord called the Doctor, an extraterrestrial being who appears to be human. The Doctor explores the universe in a time-travelling space ship called the TARDIS. The TARDIS exterior appears as a blue British police box, which was a common sight in Britain in 1963 when the series first aired. With various companions, the Doctor combats foes, works to save civilisations, and helps people in need.
Beginning with William Hartnell, many actors have headlined the series as the Doctor. The transition from one actor to another is written into the plot of the show with the concept of regeneration into a new incarnation, a plot device in which a Time Lord "transforms" into a new body when the current one is too badly harmed to heal normally.
A series of special episodes will air to celebrate the programme's 60th anniversary. The episodes were written by Russell T Davies, and will be broadcast on BBC One in November 2023, preceding the following fourteenth series. David Tennant will appear as the Fourteenth Doctor before Ncuti Gatwa takes over as the Fifteenth Doctor. Catherine Tate was also confirmed to be returning to the show in the 2023 specials.
The three specials were directed by Rachel Talalay, Tom Kingsley and Chanya Button respectively. Filming moved from Roath Lock Studios to Wolf Studios once Bad Wolf became a co-producer of the series; filming commenced in May 2022, and was complete
David Tennant will appear as the Fourteenth Doctor before Ncuti Gatwa takes over as the Fifteenth Doctor. Catherine Tate was also confirmed to be returning to the show in the 2023 specials. Yasmin Finney joined the cast for the anniversary, to portray a character named Rose. Bernard Cribbins, Jacqueline King and Karl Collins are also set to return as Wilfred Mott, Sylvia Noble and Shaun Temple, respectively.
The Fourteenth Doctor is the current incarnation of the Doctor, the fictional protagonist of the BBC science fiction television programme, Doctor Who. The Fourteenth Doctor is portrayed by Scottish actor, David Tennant, who previously portrayed the Tenth Doctor.
Within the series narrative, the Doctor is a millennia-old, alien Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey, with somewhat unknown origins, who travels in time and space in their TARDIS, frequently with companions. At the end of life, the Doctor regenerates; as a result, the physical appearance and personality of the Doctor changes.
Blue is actually a great contrast from the orange color. I like it!
The blue color really does pop, doesn't it? I'm thinking of doing a red one too 😉
Judging by the deleted scene in the star beast you mentioned, I'd assume the original intention was that the sonic regenerated along with his clothes, and then the scene was cut to be more consistent with the comic.
To me it's just a really good joke and head-canon. After all, the comic is strange, and the fact that the doctor regenerated in clothes and with a screwdriver is a nice meme at this situation.
Yes I think it's likely that the deleted scene was hinting at the sonic regenerating along with the Doctor's clothes, and them cutting that scene to align more closely with the comic could make sense. It's always fascinating to consider the original intentions behind scenes that end up on the cutting room floor. Thanks for sharing your insights!

I'm in the US and I got mine from ebay, it took about seven days to arrive.
eBay is currently one of the best places to find them, with Amazon offering them as well. However, the prices on Amazon tend to fluctuate frequently.
I am delighted. Like from 13th doctor’s sonic design overall. The same goes for how unique it looks with blue light. The feeling like insides it is the breath of the zombie ice dragon from Game of Thrones. But it seems I saw a similar custom long before the comic on Instagram.
By the way, I read the comic and it is controversial. And it explains little. But this is my favorite screwdriver design, and I like it much better than the 14th Doctor's screwdriver. Why didn't they keep the 13th design in blue?

Are u going to change the led in the 14th doctor sonic screwdriver. Asking because i want to have the blue to light to reach the top emitter and not be the weird red and yellow colour
First off love the sonic screwdriver the blue is a nice touch it should have been rainbow colored like the forth doctors scarf in the show,
Thank you for the compliment! I like that idea of a rainbow-colored sonic screwdriver, I used a multi-coloured LED in a custom Sonic Screwdriver I did a few years ago and it looked great😎

Just No. I'm not the fan of the 14th doctor. But 13th, she is the best. The best end of the path from 9 to 13.

Two different brilliant stories. But I’m waiting for the possibility that maybe new Whonivers will tell me something of his own that I’ll love. Hate hating, but 14th is still not good.
