No, this is not a hotel that has that bright turquoise water. In the video at 3:59 you can get a glimpse of it. And this entire side of Cancun has water like this. If you want Turquoise water, you have to go up to Cancun Row on the part of Mexico that looks like a seven. There are pros and cons to both places geographically.

They did have sushi as well. But we only did Hibachi while we were there.

Thats a great question. My kids loved the Hard Rock Riviera Maya! This resort is newer and more updated than the Hard Rock Riviera Maya. But they have Woodward. This resort will have more waterslides by far. So I guess it depends on what you are looking for?

Does oceanfront room has swim out pool as well?? Cause I see two options of oceanview room and oceanfront room. Or swim out is only for diamond room ?
Ours was considered an Oceanfront. They should have the same room without "Diamond Club" But they also have swim out rooms that look different on the main floor that are considered an oceanview, I believe.
Love your video, thank you very much! We used to be a regular guest of their sister hotel, the Royalton Riviera Cancun. But the prices for that one have gone up extremely and the quality has gone down considerably. So we are thinking about going here. Do you happen to know whether they have rooms with two separate beds? Or only one king bed and one sofa bed?
They do have rooms with 2 queen options as well.

I don't believe so? Youd have to ask the Royalton to see if they are doing Day passes or anything.

Thanks for the informative video. For the extra butler service, on top of the extra charge, is tipping expected. And in general is tipping expected throughout your stay?
We always tip at an all inclusive resort. You will get much better service! And if you have a Butler, we do tip them as well, depending on the level of service they give us and how much they do for us during our vacation.
I’m assuming you didn’t tip on US dollars. Am I correct on that?

We were in building 14 on the 5th floor. They do have swimout rooms on the ground floor as well.

We were literally there the first few days and they have completed so much more since we left! There is a Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun FB group I would join if you havent. Lots of people are giving daily updates about what exactly is done and not finished. So you will get the most information there. But like I said in the video, they should be done with everything mid to end of February. Hope that helps!
My main concern is the smell - is there a smell on the property?
@@darinacammay1 There is an Oceany/Sulphur smell that we did have when we first arrived. But we were the very first people to use our hotel room. Once we ran water through all of those pipes, it was fine.
Is there any resort credit to use towards spa services ? Also is the bowling included or available at additional cost? Thank you ☺️
We did not have any resort credit with our booking. Not sure if that's something they will do in the future or not. Bowling was included while we were there but they may be making that an additional charge soon. I'd reach out and ask the resort about that when you know your dates.

Yes, I do. But that is my own opinion and everyone is different. The guaranteed dinner reservations were really great for us. And the Diamond Only Pool and Beach Area will be nice when the hotel is at full capacity. But check the part in my video where I show the list of the perks on the TV screen to see if those perks appeal to you or not too :)
@Sunny Goyal if you love amazing view and a swim out. this is the only hotel i have ever stayed in that had both and was not on the 1st floor.
@@bigjgnu did you have to get the Diamond Club for a swimout with a view? This is my dilemma. I want a swim out, don't want Diamond Club, but I don't want to be on the 1st floor because I want a nice view of the ocean. Preferably ocean front

We are looking at staying here the second week of July 2024. Some of the reviews I've read said there were long lines everywhere, that the property is a mile wide so finding restaurants was difficult, and beach and pool chairs are difficult to get. Is that true?

We just booked 3 rooms after watching this! Any tips on how to get middle of the resort rooms to get the best ocean front view possible? We reserved Luxury Ocean Front With Jaccuzzi ( Non DC) rooms.

We like Virgin Strawberry Margarita's, Virgin Mango Tango and Virgin Miami Vice....all alcoholic beverages we ask for without alcohol.

Hi! You need to BOOK by April 22, 2023 but can have travel dates up until Dec!

Thanks for the great video! But I don't think it beats "The Grand Moon Palace". I was debating between these 2 resorts for our family summer vacation, but The Grand comes way on top now that comaring them. Royalton Splash doesn't seem like it's "upscale" and that fact that the're planning on charging extra for bowling ans kids activities is a huuuuge let down.
I think The Grand Moon Palace is a great resort! We've stayed there as well! I think you should go with whatever fits best for your family & budget. :)
the grand is also pricier ..can you speak about the activities ? Royalton splash doesn't have kids activities (eg arts and crafts class)?
@@kerri648 The Grand has a 2 Playroom one in the waterpark and he other in the lobby with many games for kids and adults. There's a free flow rider in the water park, there's a "bouncer house" in one of the sister resorts next to the Grand, they bring out a mechanical bull, bungee jumping for kids once a week. They also giant pool inflatables for the kids and adults SUPER fun :D

I think you should be ok by May. They told me end of February for everything to be 100% done.

I do not know if they are charging for those things now. They weren't when we were there in December and there was not an age limit for those items either. But I'd reach out to the resort to check beforehand if things have changed since then. :)

Do they have height restrictions on the water slides? Our kids are excited but we are not sure if all of them will be allowed to do the slides.
They do for the big waterpark. I can't remember if it was 42" or 48"?? You would have to ask them. But for the other waterpark, there aren't height requirements.

Hmmm.. We havent been to Beaches for 6 years. But I would say there are pros and cons to both. This resort is brand new vs Beaches which is older. Beaches might be more expensive overall. But the water at Turks & Caicos is amazing!
I have a question please. I know not to drink the water, but what about coffee? Do they make that with bottled water? Also I've been told not to use the coffee maker in my room, is that true? Thank you in advance.

Do guests at the sister property have access to Splash Park and Game Up activities or will they charge them?
When we went, sister properties were not allowed any access. But Im not sure if things have changed.

They were free when we were there. But they may be charging for them now, I'm not sure.

I've been to the Riviera Maya Royalton before (none "splash") and the beach had algae issues.
Was it the same with this location?

So the beach on that side of Cancun is known for Seaweed/algae washups for all of the hotels, Grand Moon Palace, etc that are all over there too. However, they did have a big machine out there every day they would drive and suck it up.
It also depends on the time of year and the weather conditions. It is not an exquisite white beach with clear blue sea. But last time we were there, in September 2022, they were doing more than other years to keep the beach as free of seaweed as possible. Let's say that on the whole, the beach was clean enough to walk on (and mind you: I HATE walking through seaweed :) ).
Is the diamond club worth it?
I think it depends on if the things Diamond Club offers is something you WANT or will use? Everyone is so different. If you pause the video where it lists the perks of Diamond Club, you can see what you get like upgraded Alcohol, private pool area, private beach area, guaranteed dinner reservations, etc.
Are the specialty restaurants included in the all inclusive part or do they cost extra? Is the kids club part of the all inclusive part and the water park?
When we were there ALL of the restaurants were included! The kids club is included. The waterpark is included too!
Did you use the kids club? My kids have had such amazing experiences before that their expectations are high
@@darinacammay1 We did not get a chance to use it. My 10 year old was having too much fun outside the kids club in other parts of the resort to want to go there. But 3 levels of a kids club is something I've never seen before and did look pretty cool.

They have a big tractor that sucks it up every day. So depending on when you go, there is nothing. But obviously, this side of Cancun does have that regularly.

What was your room number?
I have a reservation for March 1 and now I am afraid I have seen many negative comments because the hotel is not yet suitable to receive guests that a lot is closed and under construction and it is not at all a cheap hotel to pay for a part of what What do they offer? I don't know whether to cancel my reservation or risk it

Everything I showed on the video was up and running on Dec 22nd, 2023. And a lot has been finished since our trip. Corporate told me they expected everything to be done by mid-end February. But if I were you, I would join the Royalton Splash Cancun Facebook Group....lots of people there who can give you a current update of what the resort is like and if it is 100% done.
Any update?? I'm scheduled February 11th and I'm worried.
Kids need to be 12 yrs old for laser tag AND bowling even with us adults? Do they check proof of age?
