About the horns: first of all, at the time of this recording, they'd been playing together for around 8 years, but before that, 4 of the 5 guys you see on this session came from the Univ of North Texas jazz program, I think they all played in the legendary "One O'Clock" lab band - so they know what it means to be a "horn section".

What blows me away about this is that cerebral music like this has long been overlooked by the lay person, and this is a case where video actually _enhances_ the listener experience... the joy in the musician's faces is so engaging. I was watching a different reaction video, and the reactor pointed out that Larnell uses a cymbal on top of a snare. Go to 1:44.

I tire of Lingus and Cory’s ‘one in the eye for Shaun’ solo long before I’m done with Outlier and Sleeper. Better ‘band songs’ than Lingus and truer to what we could perceive Michael League’s vision for Snarky Puppy to be.

If you get the chance check out Bob Reynolds Guitar Band (he's the sax player). Can't Wait For Perfect is pretty close to perfect: czcams.com/video/0fO6BYuMIeE/video.html

Always keep in mind that no one is reading and that Larnell Lewis learned the entire set on a transatlantic flight and met the band for the first time on the day of the taping.
