I use photoshop 'contact sheets' to put my frames on a single page :)) Mixed media animation is such a great format, i hope you have fun trying more!
This is exactly what I needed!! Thank you for the tip. It really is, I can’t wait to experiment more with it :)
I couldn’t find a tutorial on this topic before, I thought it was something unrealistically complicated. And you explained everything simply and clearly. Thank you!
I'm so glad it could help, I thought it would be stupidly hard too, but breaking it down into steps made it a really enjoyable process. Thank you for watching!
Im a full time publicity video editor and im always getting bored of the traditional way of editing so watching these tutorials give me life !! Hope to see more to spice up my own stuff
Thank u💖💖💖💖
You cant make fun of my @ i created this account when i was 11 lol
Thank you so much, really glad it could help spark something in you! You should definitely push yourself to get more creative if you’re feeling bored of the traditional techniques
That was great thank you. I'd like to add I enjoy your humor I think you're funny and have a 'flavour' to your presentation and it flows really well 👌🏼
Thank you so much man, I really appreciate that! I was definitely winging this so I’m glad it came across in a way that made sense 😂
This is so good thank you for sharing!
Thank you for watching!
Really like this Zak. Super creative and inspiring for my own video creation. Thanks for going the extra mile to create this.
Thank you so much, glad it could help! Would love to see what you create with this technique
This is absolutely insane, love the video as well showing the process
Thank you Bill! It was so good seeing it actually work for the first time
this is so sick, thank you for sharing all your thoughts during the process!
Thank you so much for watching!
omg this is literally the tutorial i was looking for so nice!!
So glad it could help!!
Wow. The amount of ‘work’ this technique takes to pull off is so worth how bloody cool it looks! Clear difference between any sort of plugin I’ve seen previously that tries to replicate this kind of an effect.
Thanks man! Mid way through the very first animation I found myself thinking "Is this worth all the time I'm putting in?", but as soon as I saw the outcome I thought there's no way I could create this look digitally!
love this!!
Thank you so much!!
You did an amazing job! Thank you for sharing with us ✨
Thank you so much! Really enjoyed documenting my progress (and blindly figuring things out) in this one
Love this tutorial. I appreciate you making this
Thank you, I appreciate you watching!
thank you for making this video, it was really helpful! your animations turned out absolutely killer!
Thank you so much, glad my random lightbulb moments as I went though the process could help you!
That a lot of work and incredible results!
Thank you Sasha! It definitely was a lot of work but I’m so happy with how it came out!
Thank you for putting this together!
Thank you for watching!
love this bro keep it up
Thank you bro! I just dropped a brand new one playing with the new Photoshop Generative Fill if you’re interested 🙌
This goes crazy 🔥🔥
Thank you so much 🙌
this was super cool. im gonna try giving it a go now
Thank you, I'd love to see the results!
this is soo great. thanks for sharing
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it! :)
That went great!
Thanks man! I'm super happy with how it turned out for sure. Still looking forward to trying it out more in the future!
shiiiiiiiiiiit. that is so much work but looks crazy dope!
Thanks so much man! Yeah it was a lengthy process but I still want to explore the process further for sure!
this was very helpful! great video
Thank you Andrea! Glad you found it useful, more stuff like this is in production for the channel too!
Man, you make me want to start doing things by hand! That's so cool
You definitely should! Would love to see the results
hell yea friend keep it up :)
Thank you, you too! I absolutely love your work, it was a huge inspiration for the creation of this video :)
Fantastic ❤ It looks like a human being made it.
Thank you so much! I think that is the main benefit of this, it can't be recreated the exact same way twice!
insane
Thank you!
Hey dear Zak,
Thank you SO much for this fun, honest & helpful tutorial. I love it how I could actually come along on your journey of finding out how the fuck this works haha.
Im gonna make a mixed media animation for my second videoclip and this really really helps! I just have one question, I know this will take a lot of time, but im wondering: how frames did you use for let's say 30 sec of video? Thank you in advance :) ciao! Valentina (LOSKOP)
good job mate
Thanks mate!
vry cool !!
Thank you!!
Great work and Great video bro.
btw what software you are using for this animation?
Thank you so much! I used Photoshop to layout the separate frames and Final Cut Pro X to bring them back into the video after I drew on the individual frames
Good stuff
Thank you!
in design would be super quick for placing files if you need to do the contact sheets again, I just see someone mentioned there's a Contact sheet option. great video , loveeee the result , well done
Thank you for the tip! I'll definitely try this out as it took sooo long with my method
muito chave
Thanks for your tutorial!! So inspiring man, now I wanna do my own video art!!
That means a lot man, and go for it! Would love to see what you create!
Hey dope it looks
Can You tell what printer you be using for it?
Thankyou
Thank you! The printer I used was the Canon WF-2650, it’s not a specialised printer by any means, just a bog standard one so any printer should work just fine!
I do have a question. How did you do the paper rip effect?
I essentially did it the same as when I drew onto the paper, only gradually ripping more and more with each frame to make it look like it was moving when I brought it all together. I’m thinking of doing another video where I break down the techniques I used!
lovely! do you recommend a good printer?
I honestly think any printer will do! It depends how clean you want the final look to be. As you saw in this video, my printer actually up breaking and I still went with it and liked the outcome!
Which video editing tool did you use
I use Final Cut Pro X!
How do you add the frame emulator onto final cut pro? I followed the link and extracted the zip but I'm not really familiar with how final cut pro works.
You have to put the folder with the effect files in it in this location on your Mac:
Users > "your username" > Movies > Motion Templates > Effects
I hope that helps!
thank you so much for your quick answer! I had another question - when you export the frames, it doesn't export it at 12 frames. It does it at 30 fps, so there's so many stills. Is that normal? @@zaktaylor
how do you get that framerate emulator? Ive been looking everywhere for a way to create a custom framerate for a clip before exporting for printing.
I was wondering the same thing. Also is he doing this in adobe premiere ?
The frame rate emulator was from fcp.co which is no longer a website (RIP), but I've uploaded it to a link in the description for you!
@@themeatbeaters The software I use in this video is Final Cut Pro, the link to the frame rate emulator is also in the description!
what app did u use?
I used Final Cut Pro X in this video, but any video editing software should work the same for this!
yoooooo how do I get your shitty printer wowaweewa
Hahaha I guess just wait until all your ink runs out and you're in shitty printer heaven!
