Joker is really a great value for the money. The 6.5 Nomad is the best $140 I've ever spent on a knife in that size.

I do not agree. Let me mention some facts: A scandi sucks if the blade is thicker than 3mm and all Jokers are 4mm.(That's one main reason. why Morakniv's are considered no1 bushcraft knives, they don't make them 4 but 3mm maximum) Also,Joker don't use low alloy steels on their scandis, which is what works properly with that type of grinds and that type of knives in the same time.
Nowadays,It's all about marketing .CZcams, unfortunately, spreads a lot of misnformation, because of that. How to make more money, is the first goal for every CZcamsr, and not to share true knowledge for free. Only in a handful of CZcams channels provide proper knowledge and only some, are truly knowledgable, on knives, or Bushcraft etc Most of them ,are people who watched some videos, got exited, because CZcams makes you famous in no time, you can also make money out of all this and that's the reality, for most CZcamsrs nowdays..
Please don't get offended just because I mentioned facts. My only intention, was only to mention, what's true and what's not.
PS: For a proper outdoors knife, I'd check the White River Ursus 45, or brands like Morakniv, Hultafors, Brisa knives, Manly Knives. Cold Steel still makes some decent knives. Spyderco. TRC knives..LT Wright knives. Those are the makers, that make mostly knives meant to be used and not knives, that are designed for collectors and thus live in their dawers eating dust. You'll also notive, that most of those maker's scandis, are NOT more than 3mm thick. You have to be a real user (not tried to use your knife in your backyeard, I mean real life use) to understand. Happy

I have 2 Moras (Garberg SS and Companion) but I fancy to buy a knife with wooden handle and all around character, more elegant than Moras but also durable and capable. So I have a couple of weeks I am checking Joker knifes. I remember you mentioned somewhere that Ember F is the best Joker knife. Is it a good option to buy ? As I haven’t a knife with flat grind, how does perform?

love the Bushlord, have it in curly birch with a fitting curly birch firesteel. For me this is currently the best Bushcraft knife you can get for your money, handcrafted with a good steel, Sleipner being a good compromise between toughness and edge retention, especially for Bushcrafting and very nice wooden handle, well crafted ... I am closing in to 200 knives in my Collection, considering value for money, Joker is right up there of the best knife manufacturers for what you pay for (and again just repeating it, this is handmade in Spain incl the leather sheat, everything, nothing from Asia ... , like other brands do knowadays (eg beavercraft what many people do not know, no its not Ukraine, its Marketing bluff ) oh and on a side note pssssst yes it does not only look like the Lars, it is the Lars , Joker produces it for Casström .... ;)

I live in Montana and use bushknives weekly. I am buying this one based on your recommendation/video. I started with cheap Mora and don't regret it - I always have some laying around and use for my sons. They are good for learning and finding out if you really want to use knives like this. But when it is time to commit to a more expensive and capable knife, it is a Joker product you want to go with.

Hey Aaron thanks for another great video. I bought a Campero based on your review and absolutely love that knife. I damaged the sheath and u encouraged me to get in contact with Joker to see what theybwould do and they sent me a brand new sheath at no cost. Thats above and beyond customer service if u ask me. Replacing something they could have easily and justifiably said was my fault. With this latest knife I think I know what my next purchase is going to be. I don't have a Scandi grind in my collection so decision made.

I understand this knife is literally identical with the Casström Lars Fält knife: same blade, same steel, same geometry, same measurements. Only non-stabilized wood and a slightly different handle. And it comes at just over half the price. I understand Casström’s knives are assembled by Joker (Casström admit they are made in Spain). This must put a strain on the business relationship.

Edge retention tests show that sliepner at 61rc hardness, that its edge retention did better than most m390 (probably because 95% of m390 is 57-60rc). Lionsteel tested their m390 vs their sliepner and sliepner did like 4 times better. Mostly because of the poor heat treat decsions lionsteel chose for m390.

They also just released their new Les Stroud collaboration a few days ago, the Wabakimi. Also in Sleipner steel which is a first for Helle. But it is a smaller knife with a 3.15" blade. Hopefully, you check it out in a while. Shoot one of the owners an Email and they probably send you one. I've been buying some traditional scandanavian bushcraft knives from varusteleka. They needed a little work but they are great. They arent all full tang but there's nothing like having a niece woodhandled scandi ground knife around camp. I wouldn't call them survival knives but for everything else while camping? Its my goto.
Just need a little sanding to nock off the ruff edges and a good stropping. I never go out in the bush without my Puukko Forest 120 hanging around my neck or my trusty MT-5 Cudeman. Not really a fan of large fix bladed knives. If I needed something that big Id rather take a small axe. 😂😂 something I find easier to baton with if I had to anyway.

As dr Wako would say "This is a Batoning knife!" . Morakniv and Condor makes proper bushcraft knife designs, This here, is all about marketing...and how to sell more.Condor did that too, however, they made their blades 3mm thick, which is what works with scandi grinds. 4mm and up, it just makes a spliting wedge and not a proper knife for bushcraft tasks. All Condors can outperform this knife, in terms of bushcraft tasks, like feathersticking, knotching, carving etc.
PS Far from perfect ofcourse (imho). Durability comes from the proper heattreament/steel and edge/bevel geometries combination, not just by thick blade stocks.

Bought the Ember from them last year and I really love the knife EXCEPT...their qc isn't good. First one I got had a gap between one scale & the tang that extended halfway down the length of handle. The replacement has a similar gap but only 3/4" long so rather than deal with the headache of another exchange I decided to just deal with it and rehandle it later when it comes loose. Very disappointed considering the not cheap price point and otherwise seemingly great quality.

Sleipner is more of a medium-high carbon tool steel. I think the D2 comparison is misleading, since it is closer to D1 with a little less carbon and chromium and with a lot more molybdenum. So it is an improved toughness D1 that settles for a little less stain resistance and carbon hardness, but picks up some modern tool steel tricks like 7-8% Cr and about 2.5% molybdenum to regain some of the wear resistance without sacrificing too much strength. It doesn't hurt that the higher moly content helps stain resistance a little. It's a good formula for a tough outdoor knife with better wear resistance than 1095 and less rust prone.
Nice knife! It goes on the list. I still probably need to get a Terava Skrama first to match up with the Jaakaripuukko 140.
This Joker Bushlord is a really nice upgrade to the Jaakaripuukko 110.
