How to Install Fog Lights on a 2016-2019 Police Interceptor Utility (Explorer)

- This video shows how to install OE style Fog lights into your 16-19 PIU or base Explorer. 2011-2015 is much easier since it utilizes a relay to power the fogs. This was filmed real-time with minimal information obtained ahead of time. Because of this there are a few times I start down one path and realize I'd have to switch things up. Rather than edit all those parts out I decided to leave them in for anyone who cares to gain the extra knowledge. The biggest issue I found was that the power output from the BCM to the fogs was not working even after enabling in Forscan and adding in the vacant pins according to the wiring diagrams. My solution was to install a momentary activated relay module so I could at least utilize the OEM fog light button. Unfortunately I did not figure out a simple way to also get the fog light indicator to display on the dash in unison with the new module. If I eventually get both to work together I will post an update video.

On one of my two PUI, the trunk door has to manually be unlocked every time I want to open it. But on my other I just pressed the trunk button and it just matters if the car is locked or not. How do I fix this?
Go into the BdyCM in Forscan and disable Police Rear Door. It will make the rear gate work like a normal explorer.
Also question actually. Do you know what the part number is for the ambient air temp sensor harness that plugs into the sensor itself? I bought an entirely new OEM harness for the front end however the sensor extension is missing and that’s what I need lol.

Do you know on this PIU if there’s a wire on that headlight switch that is ACC that gets power only when you put the key on acc mode but shuts off when i take the key out. Or if there’s a fuse that i can tap into that does the same, i’m looking to use it to activate a relay
Oh and also, you went thru the firewall correct to wire into the fogs? How did you do that as well, everything seems so tight
