    Great performance by DC United and what a dominate win. DC United needed that win due to their 8 game road trip.

    More great defending from my Quakes. Nice job guys. Put on a real clinic on how to defend........................................ -__-

      I can’t believe the Quakes didn’t fix an obvious position of need at left back. Hell, the whole defense is not MLS caliber, aside from Florian Jungwirth. You’d think John Doyle was still the GM of this team.
      Stahre will be sacked soon if this doesn’t improve. There’s no improvement from last year.

      The backline was not good, no doubt. But the midfield didn't help by giving away the ball in dangerous conditions.

      Stein, that was much worse than any team under Doyle. The midfield and defense is much worse in 2018. No professional sense of awareness of space and time. Amateurish playing and coaching.

      Arturo Damn. Well, hope you guys can turn things around.There’s a few good pieces, but the team needs a major overhaul. The days of the Goonies are long gone.

    might as well save some money and sign a rock as your goalkeeper for free. It’d make some quality saves

    I knew Mattocks was going to miss that shot in the 56 minute. Way too wide open and easy.

    Before everyone hops on the defending: This is a match between two of the worst teams in the league this year. Just know that going in, fam.

      Spiders These comments come up when there's a match where defenders get beat. Generalize the entire league without realizing that sometimes defenders have a bad game. No one bothers to mention when defenders have a good game, no no, if it's MLS, it must mean all defense is bad all the time, broadly, through the entire league. Yup, must be it.

      Have you seen Dejan Lovren defend? Laurent Koscielny’s school boy error against Atletico Madrid? Alberto Moreno in general? Bayern Munich’s defending against Frankfurt today in their cup final. Barca’s defending last week against Levante when they gave up five goals. They were all equally as bad if not worse. Is it an indictment on those leagues?

    • @mcriii
      @mcriii Před 6 lety +5

      Both these teams are not known for their defenses, especially San Jose. Watch Atlanta United and SKC if you want good defenses. NYC, NYRB, Columbus, and FC Dallas are good as well. There are quality defenses in MLS. Notice those clubs are coached by quality as well (Martino, Vermes, Vieira, Marsch, Berhalter, Pareja). Its no coincidence.

      Mls doesn't get world class defenders and keepers like they do attackers because age doesn't have as much as an effect so they play in Europe their whole career

    • @michaelstein7510
      @michaelstein7510 Před 6 lety +17

      If he comes over here in shape with the right mindset, Rooney could have an impact on DC like David Villa has had on New York City and be a club legend.
      DC United used to be the best club in MLS. I’ve always thought they are a sleeping giant ready to awaken again and reclaim their past glory. Maybe Rooney can be that spark to help take them to the next level. Their beautiful new stadium opens soon and supposedly a new ownership group is on the way. I hope they use Rooney as incentive to invest heavily in the team and get DC United competitive at the highest levels of MLS once again.

    • @michaelstein7510
      @michaelstein7510 Před 6 lety

      Blaise 2067 Most MLS teams do that now. Look at Dallas, RBNY, and Atlanta as great examples of teams that sign and develop young talent.
      The problem is DC United is about 5-6 years behind the rest of the league. Fans of the league are hoping the new stadium and the Rooney signing will encourage them to finally enter the modern era of MLS. Until they adapt to how much the league has changed since 2011, they will continue to be at the bottom of the table most years. They have so much wasted potential right now until they seriously invest in the team.

    A match where defenders were poor, must be the entire league and not just this match today in particular. Thumbs up my comment pleeeeeaaase.

      This seems to be the latest herd mentality trend, replacing the attendance concern trend of the last few weeks.
