We Watched Bluey's The Sign And DEFINTELY Did Not Cry Our Eyes Out!

- Not aware of the weight of the newest, epic-sized Bluey episode "The Sign", Matt and Jackie decided to watch it with their toddlers before bedtime. After realizing what "Ghostbasket" setup in it's jaw-dropping cliffhanger, the parents quickly put their kids to bed and watched "The Sign" on their own. Sobbing by the end of it, they were glad they did. As emotions were high, Matt and Jackie knew they needed to discuss the beautiful episode in the next Couple Chat. Pushing Disney off for another week, it was time to face the emotional rollercoaster that is Bluey's 28-minute epic season 3 closer.

Matt and Jackie Hahn of Here are the Hahns started Couple Chat in 2018 to review some of their favorite movies. After a couple beta episodes, they didn't pick it up again until the 2020 pandemic. While the world shutdown and work from home was on the rise, this couple took to CZcams and created skits, vlogs, and more to have fun and keep busy.
It has been about two years since that first official release and now Couple Chat is back! Naturally, Matt and Jackie felt it was appropriate to move into a podcast setting where they can chat about all the things they love to do as a couple, parents and a family. They plan to do that by delivering weekly episodes while following the structure of M.E.E.P.

I'm 24. Started watching bluey after seeing so many parents on Instagram getting emotionally wrecked watching and have been hooked. Even my mom watches now too. Love the acknowledgment of them having difficulties as parents and trying to keep the kids unaffected except to learn life lessons but also my sister and I are just like them 😂 I think it's the older younger sibling dynamic

9:45 I was not upset with the ending. I see what people mean by the lesson of learning to accept change is nullified by the ending. But that wasn't the lesson. The lesson was very much so, we'll see. As well as, be happy with what you have, and more is not always better. If they had uprooted Bingo and Bluey's whole world because they wanted to give them "a better life" it wouldn't have been better for them. They would've lost their friends, their school, their sense of normalcy. They would've had to fit into a different new school and make new friends.
Of course, I knew they couldn't move because of Bingo and Lila in "Daddy Dropp-off."
I was crushed by this episode. Full on broken down, crying. I moved 1100 miles away from my family 6 months ago. It has been super hard for me. About a week before the Sign was available in the US, I decided I was moving back to where my family is. I was visiting my family at the time. Prepping, you know.
I broke down when Brandy came on screen. I had to pause the episode and do a double take. I was off and on crying or on the verge of tears the entire episode. But when that song started playing, the song that was written and sung by the voice actress for Calypso, I absolutely lost it. I was a mess. I could barely see for the tears. I cried and cried through the whole ending. I cried again when the slowed down version of the theme song started playing.
I took that episode coming out right after I decided to move back as the sign that I was doing the right thing. It's always best to follow what your heart believes is right. Even when your brain may not agree. This episode is so special to me because of that and so much more! This will be one of my favorite pieces of TV film I've ever watched. I'd go so far as to say that it IS the greatest episode of a television show EVER!

So I've never actually watched the show before I've only seen it on at the Doctor's office if I was going to watch the new episode are there any Episodes I should watch first?
Unfortunately, The Sign is a culmination of everything Bluey. They refer back to almost every episode in the series. But, you can enjoy the episode as a standalone, even though you may not understand all the character relationships and nuances that make this show so great!
