Brook Trout Spawning Behaviour Up Close! Part 1

We left our camera near a Brook Trout redd (nest) while doing our annual spawning surveys on the upper Humber River October 22, 2017. We survey areas like these to monitor the success of our restoration efforts for species like the Brook Trout. Looks like these weren’t shy trout as we caught spawning behaviour, digging, and males aggressively chasing off competition on camera! While the whole video is amazing to watch, some notable points are: 1:40, and 4:25.
